Here's an interesting question for you all...

What do you think of characters who are well intentioned extremists? And where do you think the lines are crossed?

First, I think it's an interesting but overused trope(just look at the TV Tropes page, every section has its own subpage for god's sake). It gives us a look of how far someone is willing to go down the slippery slope to achieve their goals.
Most of the time I see it though, it's just "I want to do this good thing BY KILLING THOUSANDS". Naruto is a good(bad?) example of this where it's done constantly and it always revolves around the main villains committing genocide or starting a world war to somehow achieve peace. Which is basically how Hollywood handles the trope.

A good example would be N in Pokemon BW, where force is needed to achieve his goal.
Another take on the trope is not how they sacrifice themselves but rather how they sacrifice others, Hilda in ALBW is willing to sacrifice the entirety of Hyrule to save her own kigdom and in Etrian Odyssey IV, Prince Baldur is willing to kill the Vessels and Sentinels so the Titan can restore his dying land.
Finally, Stain is a good example of when the extremist part overthrows the well-intentioned, with him ignoring the possibility of the non-violent method having worked as seen when he simply refuses to believe Iida could actually have learned from his lesson.

So this guy got memed.

What if Zelda had an amazing, cinematic story?

What if Last of Us had incredible, skill based combat?

What if Uncharted somehow put all the violence in context?

What if Dark Souls was approachable and clear?

I am going to talk about the down-sides of the Last Jedi. Despite all the hate it got, I really liked the movie overall.

Spoiler: Positive!

YODA!
Disappointed that Luke died and could not train Ray anymore, but Luke was really solid in the movie.
I am really glad that Snoke is dead. I like the focus on Rey and Kylo Ren.
Poe had flaws, but an improvement overall.
The Rebellion as a whole grew character overall.
Rey had a lot more character than in the last movie.
Movie was interesting and I was always interested in the next part.

Rose is not a horrible character, but she could of used more development.
Amilyn Holdo's sacrifice was not necessary at all. She should of auto-piloted the ship to light speed instead of killing herself.
Also why did it take her five resistance ships that were destroyed to make her realize she has to do something?
There were characters I would of liked to see more of. Notable Anakin Skywalker and R2D2.
The golden casino scene could of been executed better.
Kylo Ren deserved a little bit better.

In a story, what number of characters do you feel are too much?

When the writer can't develop them all. So that depends on the media it's in, really. It doesn't need to be super indepth but just have enough time for each of them to shine.
An example of too many characters in a movie for me are some of the MCU movies like Civil War.
And, as much as I love MHA, it's got way too many ****ing characters. Like, Horikoshi introduced more characters in less than 200 chapters than most other shonen manga did in their entire run and there's no way he's ever going to touch the surface of most of them.
I've already reisgned on the fact no one from Class B besides Those 3™ are ever going to be relevant.

My weekly game night is largely a D&D 5th group. I've got books and a sack of dice I can't roll double digits on.

Every attempt I've ever made at DMing has begun or ended in abject failure, but I can play.

Don't know where you can pick up responsible adults at 7:30 on a Thursday but you can certainly try.

With the new Thracia banner in FE: Heroes, I haven't gotten any of the new units thus far, but I did get a first in something when I went for a full summoning round just yesterday:

Yep, my first Amelia! Pretty cool to finally pull Amelia since I haven't had any luck in receiving her since she first came out.

My Amelia is +Atk -Def for her IVs. Very hit or miss unfortunately. I am aware she makes good Armor March armor though, so I might someone from my Armor Emblem team inherit skill to my improve my team's capabilities.

I also pulled another normal Ike as my free summon from that new Focus Battle banner. He has very poor IVs though: +Res -Atk. I've decided to use him as inheritance fodder for either Aether or Heavy Blade.
