I don't play many fighting games other than Smash, only one I'm comfortable enough to say I have a main is in Jojo Heritage of the Future. My main would be Hol Horse with Dio and Jotaro as secondaries.

I really don't play any fighting games other than Smash. But when I used to play SF, Cammy was my main.

As far as competitive games in general, I use Tracer/Lucio for Overwatch normally.

I've played quite a few fighting games in these last years.

In Ultra Street Fighter IV I played a lot of Juri with occasionally Blanka.
In Street Fighter V my main is Balrog with Kolin and Alex as secondaries.
In Tekken Tag Tournament 2 my team consisted of King and Nina
In Tekken 7 it's still King. Nina is my secondary along with Alisa.
In Injustice 2 Gorilla Grodd is my main. Black Canary and Joker are my secondaries with a bit of Black Manta as of late.
In Dragon Ball Fighterz my team consists of Nappa, Android 18 and Beerus. Broly might replace one of 'em soon.

EDIT: I somehow forgot about the mvc games despite them being my favorite next to smash.
In X-men vs street fighter I played a team of Rogue and Zangief.
In umvc3 I played a lot of Doctor Doom, Wolverine, Phoenix, Nemesis and Chris.
In mvci I my team consists of Venom and Nemesis. Carol and Chris are my secondaries.

I have played MK and KoF games before but not enough to really have mains.

Scorpion/Sub-Zero/Reptile or Raiden, depending on the Mortal Kombat. I played (Dark) Phoenix, Doom, and Magneto in MvC3. Dhalsim in Street Fighter, but once I pick up the DLC edition, I am probably going to try and learn Menat, she seems to be one of the first genuine zoners in Street Fighter. King in Tekken, always King. Link in Soul Calibur 2, no surprise there, I played a lot of Talim as well. Gargos in Killer Instinct. Batman in Injustice 1, Deadshot/Dr. Fate in Injustice 2.

I have played a lot of other fighting games, but not enough to have a "main."

Gingy was the best though. Solid approach options, a good anti-air, and fast projectiles to help fill his slam meter.

Even though I'm part of a community that generally attracts hardcore gamers, I've very much got a casual gamer mindset. I get bored playing as the same one or two characters repeatedly. I like variety.

Street Fighter: Right now it's Sakura, but Ed is surprisingly fun too and I liked Alex but they nerfed him to ****.
KOF: Shun'ei, as of XIV. But I also use Kyo and Rock Howard. Ash was one of my mains in XIII but, well...
Tekken: Lars, with Eliza as a secondary.
Blazblue: Izayoi, I think. I haven't played BB in a long while.
Pokken: Used to be Weavile last I played.
Dragon Ball FighterZ: Trunks/Yamcha/Ultimate Gohan is my go-to set.
Smash: Pit/Dark Pit (use DP more just out of preference) and Cloud.
