On one hand, it wasn't one of the new Easter units.

An entire year of hoping for her to come home. Countless banners with no luck. Three pity breakers from the Tempest banner last month.

And suddenly, there she is. First blue dancer. Dragon Emblem fortifier, which I can run now since I also have Myrrh. My most wanted blue ever since Ephraim showed up on his banner back in December.

And she's neutral natured! After the horrible luck I've had with them lately, that's a godsend.

I just...wow. Yeah, I'm just gonna sit back and hoard orbs until the legendary banner starts now. I'll go after Kagero and Catria afterward. I can put most of April toward them; not really interested in Leif and crew.

You know, it kind of is genuinely surprising, since usually Ash's signature mon usually ends up being a starter, examples being Greninja is Kalos, Sceptile in Hoenn and Infernape in Sinnoh.

Yeah, that's what's catching people off guard. Only other time it's happened recently was Unova, where he didn't really have a signature regional mon.

What exactly is the Lucario archtype anyway? I know Zoroark fits it, but I think Zoroark is the only one that fits the Lucario archtype.

Basically, a super prominent non-starter that gets a lot of attention in supplementary stuff. It's a (relatively) newer thing compared to other Pokémon archetypes since it started in Gen 4, so it's why there's only three mons who really fit it.

Plus they did kind of go back and Gen 3 in Brawl in away, basically being Gen 1 mon's got chosen cause remakes with the Pokemon Trainer concept, but that's not much precedant for them to go back these days, even though a good number of Gens would bring new ideas to the table.

Yeah, it's true that the Trainer was ostensibly based on the remakes, which were part of Gen 3. May have had to do with Gen 3 being a thing when Brawl development started, but I'm not sure.

Which actually makes me wonder again how seriously they considered the idea of Zoroark getting into Smash 4 alongside a Gen 6 mon. The attack the Zoroark summon does is very Final Smash-like...

Also I once read somewhere, that the Pokemon Trainer concept was considered for Melee, with Gen 2 Pokemon, but take that with a grain of salt, I think it appeared in one of PushDustIn translations at one point, though again I could be mix that up from somewhere else, so I've no idea, and since there's no mention of the Pokemon Trainer concept in sourcegaming's Definitive List of Unused Fighters in Smash article, I must be mixing it up with somewhere else.

Far as I know, the idea wasn't seriously considered in Melee. Source Gaming is pretty good about getting the facts straight about Smash background details.

Oh baby, I sure love to get yet another Shiro as pity breaker! I have 3 Shiros now, all of them with trash IVs, and all of them pity breakers. This game is great.

Spent over 200 orbs on Catria, only got that one Shiro. I'm here sitting at a 4'5%... Hopefully I can get Catria by the end of the banner. At least I got a 4 star one, so my regular Catria is +5 right now. Speaking of Catria, I've read that she became trendic topic in Japan when she was announced. Can someone explain me why is Catria so popular in Japan? I'm not complaining, since I love her, but I really don't know why she has so many fans there in Japan.

I swear, if the next legendary hero is Lyn I'm going to be really mad hahaha. I know they've hinted at a colourless dragon, but who knows anymore. At least legendary heroes do come out every month, so it's not that bad.

I think Charmander knows I don't live Charizard because I hatched a shiny Squirtle in 6 eggs but I've gone months and 20 eggs recently and still no shiny charmander.

It's a 1/50 chance for all pokemon, so why this charmander specifically that won't get shiny?

Maybe it knows the only reason it exists is to be breed with a Tyranitar to give it Outrage

Well, was more saying that Decidueye wouldn't necessarily be the only Grass type to catch the teams eye, even just narrowing it down to starters. But yeah with that, Decidueye is, if they were to choose a grass starter to get chosen at this point, plus being most popular grass type helps him. With that said, if say we get Gen 8 this, and next year we get the Gen 4 remakes people want, the team could go back and look at Torterra, cause he would be a unique character, for legged beast and all. I think his concept would be something like Walking Tree, but that's only if the Gen 4 remakes happened.

Your actually right about most of Ash's teams not fully evolvoing, it seems to only have ever happened in Kalos and Sinnoh. Well popularity does help a lot, what with Lucario and all, I'm sure.

It wouldn't make much sense for this invitational to be our first look at anything regarding the game. There'd be so much going on that it'd be a mess, much less the fact that they wouldn't be able to keep anything in the E3 demo under wraps.
