Is there a reason behind the lack of Shang Tsung in the DLC section?

Didn't even notice lmao so that's another strike against it.

The thing is that there’s 6 per pass and only 9 dlc characters listed. Granted Shang was the first. But that’s another thing a certain other leak that otherwise seemed true got wrong since it said Shang was unlockable.

There seems to still be three secret characters. The characters we already know about that aren’t on here are Cetrion, Kitina, Kollector, and Frost. I’m assuming that last one is for future dlc.

Shinnok I doubt is in just because his model is so similar to MKX’s and he was alongside Rain, Reptile, and Cyrax as “klassic characters” as assists in towers. Mileena is a possibility. And Shang Tsung was thought to be unlockable alongside both of them. So who knows.

If Rain is not in the base roster, he isn’t DLC. Boon said no repeats. Even though Erron Black has Reptile’s acid(which makes sense because they’re close allies), I could still see him being DLC at least, especially since he’s the only playable MK2 character missing out if Mileena is in. Smoke would make sense as an unlockable in my mind, especially since he’s part of Sub Zero’s story. Ermac might be in too.

But anything is possible with those 1-4 mystery slots. 1 is assuming it's just Mileena and Shinnok and there's no fourth hidden character. 4 is assuming they're all unknown including that fourth slot.

New, revised speculation list:

• One of the remaining MKX "kids" (I'm betting Takeda)
• Mileena
• Enenra (after Smoke called himself that way in MKX, I could see a renaming, but either way, that's Smoke)
• Ferra/Torr for the lolz :V

Bo Rai Cho is a good one. Jarek too, even if he'd be pretty generic compared to the rest of the cast, imo.

But I doubt it's gonna be Hsu Hao. Devs have been pretty vocal about hating him for over the past decade (even relunctantly putting him in Armageddon just because everyone had to be there).

Even his appearance in the MKX comic just had him get killed one page later, just to show that he's dead and won't come back.

The thing is that Frost has always been established to not be apart of the three, with her included there’s still three extra slots.

And the Kollector having a fatality similiar to a Mileena’s past one doesn’t deconfirm her I’d say. Considering characters sometimes have pretty similiar fatalities in separate or even the same games. She can simply just not have that fatality.

No Turtle School symbol on the gi is a big question mark. Also I really don't see them doing a Reggie mii at all, much less with its own moves. The shaky camera also is convenient enough so we don't get a clear look at the Joker render.

Honestly the reggie mii part is what makes me say fake.

I could actually buy goku happening. If there’s any character they would cave on I think it would be him, especially if bandai Namco pushes it. I also could honestly see Nintendo not have a problem with it and suggest him due to the long history of dbz games and the fact that goku more then likely ranked high in the ballot.

A special reggie mii I can see. Not with unique moves though, that be too much work and wouldn’t make much sense. But like if Sakurai said they were gonna do something like when they sent Nintendo representatives miis out in the mii plaza, I can totally see that happening for mii fighters in game.

For a franchise that's been establishing the presence of powerful deities across its history, it's surprising that only three of them really showed up before MK11, with one of them showing up in enough games to count with just one hand (Fujin, actually).

And no, I'm not counting Taven and Daegon. They're demigods. And only showed up in Armageddon anyway.
