I am actually surprised about this, as well. On past games, Playstation/Sony fans never cared about Pokemon. I am not sure why are peoples suddenly expressing interest in wanting Pokemon SwSh for PS4.

But since there are a lot of peoples asking for it, there's a possibility Game Freak might be doing something right. Maybe the graphics? I don't know.

Here's how I see it, and I say this based on what I have seen in previous Smash reveals. And yes this is an opinion so I expect an adult response because I know this is gonna be a hot take.

I believe that Banjo in Smash wouldn't draw up as much hype as Master Chief would, because Smash Ultimate has already set up the expectation that top picks are near guarantees, which makes characters below the bar practically irrelevant to the fanbase. You take a character out of expectations, especially a very popular character such as M.C., and you potentially draw in a larger crowd than you would of a character people are putting their dimes on.

Banjo would be a fire reveal, make no mistake, but that hype wouldn't last as long as a character who tilts the odds on their heads, like Cloud for example.

As someone who hasn't played Undertale or Deltarune, I actually like a lot of stuff related to the game and would be fine with stuff from it in Smash.
