Oh so it’s not the Adeline rumor that just popped up on my feed.

So that means the square stuff would be true. And if it is erdrick he’s not really a surprise at this point when everyone and their mother says he’s in.

In Japanese, the word is almost exactly identical to Hero

You've got to contend with lack of popularity and rightsholders repsectively so DQ was probably the only one on the table for Nintendo to pick to begin with.
Perhaps if Sakurai was somehow a closet fan of either and had control of the DLC choices, he would've picked either of them.

Honestly, if it's the same writing quality as SMT4A, I've got no hopes for it.

Yeah it is what it is. I think the DQ composer is a douche but aside from that i'm just kinda underwhelmed by that pick. It seems like the reason for DQ is to cash in on the series' popularity in Japan and try to get it popular in the West.
