My need to reference stuff is bigger than WoL because I had never played Snake before but I refused to use anyone but him to beat The Boss.
I know jack **** about Metal Gear lore but I know what her fight is referencing exactly because of all those rabbidluigi videos I watched back in the day and god I love her.
A shame she kinda makes Revolver Ocelot and any other Grab Spirit obsolete though but I'll be having fun once I get Incineroar.

Funny you mention it 'cause I just got to it and it was what made me go "I have other modes to play". I'll go back to it when I get Shulk in WoL or someone I can actually play as.
Waiting for the Spirit Battle that has a Sonic who "tends to avoid conflict" while three giant Ganondorfs go after my ass.

Oh yeah, then I got out of it and unlocked Shulk so now all my mains are back.
All the unique newcomers are unlocked too so I'll give some thoughts on them.
Inklings: no
Ridley: my sweet sadistic murderer is everything I wanted him to be and more. He fits my playstyle perfectly and he's super easy to pick up, just need to get used to his recovery.
Simon: who?
Richter: this is the most brain dead cgaracter I have ever played, I just hit Holy Water and then FSmash. That's it. That's the whole gameplan. I can't hit anything that goes up though, but I can just press B and win anyways so what's the point?
K. Rool: I have yet to play as him and refuse to ever do so until I have to complete his classic mode
Isabelle: played her in a more casual match so I'm still not too sure on her but damn, Fishing Rod is just super fun. Lloyd Mine kills too.
Incineroar: you just hit things reappy hard and it feels great. Honestly might become one of my mains because it's way too satisfying to play as him and I love command grabs.

Oh yeah, speaking of command grabs, the Mii Nrawler's suppex move is the biggest buff he could have gotten. He was my favorite class in Smash 4(not saying much though) but I actually have fun with him now and with the maod uniform? I might just have him as my secondary.

Minecraft is going to take a big hit from this. This looks great.

Also Ultimate is 2018-2019 GOTY. For sure.

lmao K.Rool is one of the least fun characters for me so I had the same mentality until I started achievement hunting

I'm just not a fan of Rare's designs. I think some of their kong designs are the only ones I actually like(Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, Funky). Everyone else is just, ugh.
I literally don't get the appeal of Banjo or Conker.

Like, have you ever seen a character design and you could tell by a glance that it was horny? Like, the design isn't supposed to be sexy but you can tell the person who did it was horny as ****. That's how I feel with Rare designs

I hope everyone has a good day. I got a fun day with my family planned.

I got lots of shirts and candy and wacky Christmas ornaments (I got a pink and black polka dot peacock).

Gaming wise, I got Dark Souls Remastered for the Switch, a Detective Pikachu amiibo (HE'S HUUUUUUGE) and 50 bucks of eshop money. I have no idea what I should get.

Oh I just don't like playing as any of the DK characters. Also yes that is absolutely true for Candy Kong lmao

Funnily enough, DK has been carrying me through WoL because he's the biggest boi I have. Though now that I got Little Mac with, like, two Fist Up spirits, I don't meed him anymore.

His view point is understandable, but his anger is misplaced. There's no reason to take things out on top Melee players like Leffen and Mang0, the latter of which wasn't even a part of this.

Despite the Throw Power bonus and 3 slots, I wouldn't say The Boss makes other Grab Spirits obsolete. Heck, at max level, she only has 700 Power more than an Enhanced Revolver Ocelot at max level.
And she'll also have alot of competition with Maria Renard, Amazon Pandora, Chun-Li and Wolf Link & Midna once you get them from their un-enhanced versions.

The Skill Tree kinda mitigates any need to optimize your spirits beyond maybe supports tbh.

This is what I have to say about receiving Ultimate for Christmas! I'm friggin' hyped. If I can't play it tonight, I'll be playing it ASAP tomorrow.

Besides that, my wonderful family got me plenty of other great gifts. I won't list them all, but I will say what games I got.

Apparently using a Spirit that gives you a Staff is the way to go for the Pauline event (because the Spirit CPU makes no attempt to avoid long-range projectiles).

Alternatively, you can trick "Pauline" into SD'ing (which is what I inadvertently did after several attempts).

It's funny, a lot of people say this battle is very difficult. I'm not very good at Smash & struggled quite a lot in the more difficult WoL battles. Yet I beat The Boss on my second try & I don't remember how.
