Apparently using a Spirit that gives you a Staff is the way to go for the Pauline event (because the Spirit CPU makes no attempt to avoid long-range projectiles).

Alternatively, you can trick "Pauline" into SD'ing (which is what I inadvertently did after several attempts).

What I did was equip Ashley to get a faster Final Smash then sniped her with Ancient Arrow. She's usually close to the blast zone so her being at a low % is not an issue.

Not exactly optimal though, especially since you'll have to get wailed on a little bit which runs the risk of getting BTFO'd by giant DK. Also if you get rid of the two idiots too early you have to play tag with Peach which is just a waste of time.

It's funny, a lot of people say this battle is very difficult. I'm not very good at Smash & struggled quite a lot in the more difficult WoL battles. Yet I beat The Boss on my second try & I don't remember how.

Hiya folks, hope you had a good Christmas. Between family affairs, ******* around in Persona, and the Salem chronicles on twitter I've been away for a bit.

Talkin about Spirit battles? Pauline was okay as long as you IMMEDIATELY went for the timer as soon as it showed up. Took me 3 or 4 tries before I managed to snag it and beat the hell out of Peach.

Dr.Wily was easily the most annoying fight IMO, saved him for last once I had a fully leveled spirit to deal with him. The Boss was difficult, almost impossible if you didn't equip poison resistance but once you did it was manageable.

THEY are here. And they're insane. Like I saw the leaked passives and stuff too but I was not prepared for those stats.

I don't even mind Global's lackluster celebration now since I've got more stones to throw at the blue boy.

I had the same problem, don't trust the star over the portals. I had it over all of them and I assumed it meant that I had all of them complete, both characters AND spirit battles.

Turns out Pit's world had three random spirit battles I just skipped over. I looked over the damn Light World map for over 30 minutes.

I got Roy a lot earlier than Chrom. Chrom was like one of the last 5 characters I unlocked IIRC.

There's a treasure chest above the lake in the lost woods, you have to try to walk into it, it turns out it's the entrance to a tunnel which takes you to Chrom.
