Yeah the AI can be surprisingly brutal, take that with the fact that there's only 8 characters from the start, who potentially never clicked with you so it's going to take a while to get used to and the fact World of Light literally sinks HOURS to get a mere third of the cast, that's a genuine criticism. I feel they should have maybe had another 5-8 characters added

I had to learn of the AI's difficulty when I got annihilated in Spirits in some battles. Of course I had no Spirits equipped so that's an obvious giveaway.

But in general, this game does seem to be a lot harder than the previous iterations. Although i'm limited to only using the Joy-Cons to play because I don't have an HDTV on hand.

Of course, a much easier way to unlock characters is through Spirits, Classic Mode, and Mob Smash so I find. I got both Marth and Young Link really easily that way.

At the same time I’m not entirely convinced its not trolling.

And I wasn’t even being aggressive. They literally said they were too lazy to play wol. If that’s the case and you really want the characters but don’t want to put effort in(even the tiniest amount) why buy the game?

World of Light unlocks characters faster? I've been just unlocking characters via VS matches and Classic Mode as I want to save World of Light for last once I unlock everyone.

I wouldn’t say it’s faster. A lot of the roster is very spread out. You can get half the roster in the like 12 hours and the other half in an additional 12 depending on how fast you work through the game

World of Light feels very repetitive and after 10 hours, you haven't even unlocked the whole cast, I think being lazy in that regard is very justifiable

Yeah, doing it via classic mode seems a lot easier than WoL. That's how I did it.

Hah, sorry if I came on a bit strong, I just find the duality of the issue hilarious.

I get full well that World of Light is a pretty love it or hate it mode. Funny enough I fell on Team "Love It" despite being kind of an impatient person, I kind of paradoxically have a bit of a grindy side so I walked out of it with a similar feeling to the one I get after polishing off a delicious meal just a bit too big for me: a bit stiff but mostly satisfied and unreasonably proud of myself.

tbh my biggest issue with World of Light is that I still can't find that ****ing Shanoa Spirit where the **** is my emotionless magical nuke and what the **** is her battle

Hockeyfan (the user) has been here for a long time (since 2016 I believe) so I doubt he's a troll. And nothing in his post suggests that TBH. All he said was that he didn't have the time for it which is a fair thing to say.

But of course as I mentioned, there's faster ways of unlocking which is something I hope Hockeyfan does if he doesn't like WoL.

It's fine no worries. I just thought people were being too harsh on Hockeyfan for his opinion.

I haven't done much in the mode yet but it's kinda lukewarm for me. Maybe that'll change when I seriously dive in to the mode.

Poor one out for Bomberman. I had to replace him with a grab spirit with 3 slots. Ura will like it though cause I use Andy now.

Also I had to replace Min Min as my attack spirit with Flying Man for the same reason.

She's Ace-Rank with no Trait, but she has 3 slots for Support Spirits. And she can be found on the Spirit Board, so she's not exclusive to World of Light.

Well, during her Spirit Battle, All of her Special moves have increased power. She also has Dangerous Winds on the stage she's fought, meaning you'll need Wind Resist/Immunity Spirits for that battle. But the thing that makes her Spirit battle dangerous is that she will get her Final Smash suddenly at any time. So yeah, her Spirit battle is tough.

The requirements to summon spirits are pretty funny and thoughtful.

For the Tails spirit you need Andy and Vulpix, for Paper Mario you need Cut Man and a Cardboard Box, for the Whitewing Sisters you need Minerva and the Able Sisters, to get Werehog Sonic you need the Castlevania Werewolf and Togedemaru and there's even canon ones too like getting Black/White Kyurem by fusing Reshiram/Zekrom with Kyurem.

i haven’t seen an enhanceable spirit yet

I blitzed all of WoL and got a few things from Spirit Board to boot, so I've got lots of enhanceables, LOL. They're definitely way, way less common than vanilla Spirits, though.

Most of my strongest Spirits were enhanceables, too. Not all enhanceables actually get up to that level, though. My first enhanceable was actually pulled out of a chest super close to where you get Andy, but IDK if that's random or if you just haven't opened the door into the base yet.

Well, during her Spirit Battle, All of her Special moves have increased power. I've summoned two characters so far, Rodin because I heard his bonus boss fight in Bayonetta games is always super hard and figured he'd upgrade into something OP and fun and Jirachi because I needed to summon a Legendary for a challenge.

Rodin's required Spirits were Brewster and Aegislash

Jirachi's were like, three different star themed Spirits.


IMO Rodin's was a lot cuter of a reference between the two, LOL.

Oh, and Rodin did upgrade into a pretty darn powerful Legendary as I figured, I just like the abilities on some of the other Legendary Spirits I have a lot so I haven't really tried him out LOL

So far, the only Spirit I have summoned was Hector, due to how easy his summon was and because I got a 2nd Lilina. But Hector's Support effect is pretty good, as it gives you super armor while charging Smash attacks.

Sure doing it all at once may be. But villager is unlocked two minutes in and could proceed to decimate all the characters in vs mode matches meaning in 64 vs matches you could beat everyone with villager tree spamming and unlock everything easily and quickly by doing this.
