Now that Ivysaur and Squirtle are back Charizard doesn't feel like the blandest character in the roster anymore.

Are Spirits effects actually random or no?

I'm not sure. Maybe not. The reason I'm saying that is that for the doubles I've gotten, they were the same. Like the second Rayman I have has the same Jump effect as the first one I got. Same happened with the Chargin' Chuck I got, where both had no effects and the same Power.

That said, I'm trying out something to see what the Dojo does. I've put a Red character with no effect into the Dojo to see if the "Land Style" gets added to the effect.

For me it's... Ridley, surprisingly enough.

He's been feeling the most fun out of the newcomers for me, with K.Rool coming in at last place (so far anyway, I don't have them all yet).

The Belmont boys are really fun too, but I’m having trouble really using them properly.

So Mark Julio (Tekken Brand Advisor) says there should be one more big news for fighting game fans before the year ends.

He may be a Tekken PR guy, but pretty sure he meant in general and Capcom Cup is next week.

That said, I'm trying out something to see what the Dojo does. I've put a Red character with no effect into the Dojo to see if the "Land Style" gets added to the effect.

Okay, getting a Style doesn't treat it as a Trait or Effect for the character. It's treated as something different. That said, some Spirits either seem to learn Styles faster than others or benefit from Styles more than others, as some characters have a Power-Up arrow for some styles, some have a Power-Down arrow and others are neutral.

Just played a few hours of Ultimate:

-Got , , , , , , , , and of course my boys andso far. Unlocks have thankfully been very steady, so I'm getting everyone slowly, but surely.
-Played about half an hour of World of Light, the Spirit Battles have some clever set-ups so they've been fun so far.
-I loved playing as Ridley, I've used him in a few free-for-all and 1v1 matches and he's so much fun to use. I still need some practice with him as I'm still making some silly mistakes, but he's definitely looking to be a main of mine.
-King K. Rool has also been great, I haven't had as much time as with Ridley, but he feels very... smooth despite being a superheavyweight. I also like how charming he is in his moves, Usmash in particular I like the 'plank' animation.
-The CPUs are surprisingly more brutal this time around, I actually got backed into a wall a couple times messing with the Lv. 9s.
-Classic Mode I feel is one of its strongest iterations, the theming behind each really brings it to life and makes each playthrough a little more memorable. Of the lot I've done, Ryu's was the most fun, but I did like Marth's as well.
-Collecting Spirits is a mixed bag I have to say, the gameplay aspect is nice, but I'm really missing those descriptions. It's especially the case with the Fighter Spirits since they're useless in gameplay but give you nothing else from what I've seen with them, so they're just there for completion's sake unfortunately.
-Ganon took me by surprise, I actually died to him a couple times. Rathalos was much easier, but as a Monster Hunter fan I appreciate the attention to detail he had in his fight.

I would assume not.
After all, it'd be really ****ty if you turned a spirit you liked into a core and had no way of getting it back.

He’s so good this game. I’ve been using squirtle to kick ass when rematching for unlocks. I love having him back.

I assume the reason for them being the same in World of Light is because it allows a guaranteed way of getting them. That said, it does take a while to get them due to having to start with Kirby and having to go all the way to the one spot to get a Spirit.

Edit: That said, the guaranteed way is great for getting those Spirits that help with certain Terrains, especially the Strong Winds and Floor is Lava ones.

Karel was my first Fire Emblem Spirit and he's been one of my most useful Spirits. Minerva was my second. Lyn, however, was my first Fire Emblem Lord Spirit, not counting Fighter Spirits. It's pretty amazing how frickin' powerful she is.

Managed to unlock all the characters today. I mainly did the VS Match/Reset method, then switched to Classic Mode briefly if I ran out of distance to unlock fighters via VS match. Greninja turned out to be one of the last unlocks in VS matches, and he ended up being my fourth to last fighter unlock overall. >___>

At least I unlocked Chrom, Pichu, and Corrin about halfway through the grind, so that was nice.

I'll probably touch World of Light over the weekend. I did a bit of Spirit Mode, and it's interesting so far. I gotta get a feel for choosing the right spirits for my Greninja.

Also, I REALLY hope Nintendo will patch online in the next update. My biggest problem with it so far is that even if I specify "1 on 1" for my random online matches, it still puts me in a 4-player match. Thus, the only way I can really get a guaranteed 1 on 1 match is through the Arena mode. They need to give us an option that guarantees a 1 on 1 fight, maybe something like turning on a switch that says, "fight in that mode only."

If you use Mario's Up B on an opponent there's a small chance that he collects Purple Coins instead of the usual Coins. Seems to be something that happens at random, and doesn't change the move in any way that I know of.

Thinking about it, I feel wonder red has a good shot for dlc.

He would be easy to get, is a beloved character. However no one expects him because his game sold poorly even though it had no major complaints from those that played it.

On top of that he brings a totally new fighting style and could still be promotion for a port or sequel.

He also could easily just be on the list as someone from recent Nintendo series. So I hope he happens. I’ll post my most unexpected choices tomorrow probably but they likely won’t be right but ya still fun.

Remind me though has wonder red gotten a spirit? I know blue has one but not sure about red

I'm trying to break my habits from smash 4 in general. That being abusing shields and dodges. And I forgot about short hops for a bit.

Anyway, I'm having fun with most of the newcomers so far. I love the Belmonts, K. Rool, Ridley, and surprisingly Incineroar. Those are my favorites by far. Least favorite newcomer would have to be Isabelle unfortunately for my not-boyfriend who hasn't even heard of the best Metal band in his own country.(I think.)
