Then I recommend you Pandora Heart, a favourite of mine, it got a complicate plot and the beginning is quit slow, but once you pass the slow start, the story should only raise from there on.

I don’t think he has coding in the game.

But considering pp is not on the fighter pass and a bonus for people to get for free, it feels like he was planned for base game but couldn’t be finished in time. So they made a special deal because they had all this work done on him.

I'll just put it out there and say that I'm reading Bakemonogatari, Gantz and Vagabond at the moment and I'm enjoying those. Somewhere along the lines, Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titan, Elfien Lied or Vinland Saga will be next.

vaanrose spoke about this earlier, but it's possible that there's just a space there, or the character was cut from planning or having a little bit of work done on them. It could also be Piranha Plant, who was planned to be in but didn't make the cut, and had to be a DLC character. I personally believe the latter, as it's free DLC for buying the game and the character seems to have a lot of work done on it, even being playable as of two months ago according to a Reddit playtester.

Since some costumes can be bought, my guesses is that you have to either buy them, or unlock them by doing challenges.

Maybe you could get some by random too, but here, I'm not so sure. Otherwise, I'm in the dark.
