Also, yes, Sora did get a revamp, I remember his specials were Fire, Thunder and Ice before being merged into one and him getting the Keyblade throw and the combo thing from Dream Drop Distance. He feels okay for the most part.

This console Pokémon talk is making me wish for the return of Shadow Pokémon.

Great covers actually acknowledged by Tsukasa Tawada, the composer for Colosseum and XD, himself.

A third Pokémon Colosseum game would be pretty great.

This is pretty much how I feel towards the majority of SSF2's newcomers. It's much like how many fan movesets try to cram as many references as possible without actually thinking of what the move's purpose is.
Isaac doesn't really have a theme sticking his jumbled mess of moves together, his tilts are specially bad.
Mega Man has a terrible weapom switching gimmicky and his merging of the Smash Mega Man didn't help him at all.
Black Mage has the same issues as Isaac, all of his specials are useless too.

This applies to pretty much everyone in the roster except Bomberman and, ironically, the anime characters.
Bomberman's moveset is simple yet effective, nothing in it feels out of place.
The anime characters probably work so well because most pf their moves are taken from official games but at least they have themes for their movesets: Naruto has his clones, Luffy is his big time range and Goku has whatever Goku does.
And Ichigo, who is "big sword with flash steps", is easily my favorite character in that entire game despite me never having watched or read Bleach.

Moral of the story? McLeodGaming should just make an anime Smash fangame.
Sound like the kind of stuff I really don't like in most fan moveset that peoples have for Smash character.

Just try to put as much reference as possible in a single character without asking if all of those moves will make something coherent and fun.

Like, I don't say you should put generic punch and kick to all of your character moves, but you don't have to make every moves something that reference that character game, some liberty here and there can help too, and too much of good stuff into something can make the final result, well, not good. (Tho, I can't say how much fun SSF2 newcomer are since I don't play it, but the point you bringed about their moveset being too cramped with reference speaked to me)

As far as the unique SSF2 characters go, I like Tails, Bomberman and Ichigo. They feel pretty dang fun to play.

Everyone else is kinda weird, I haven't used BDee though. What's the problem with him?

I think I might be that one person who somehow gets Ultimate before a Switch. I'll be willing to not play it for weeks until I can get enough money to buy one.

I think my chain is 54 or 55, best to leave it at that. I tried 31, but I think I went too far. :p

Rayman's...okay from what I've seen.

I'm also pretty certain Waluigi was barely revealed as well, so there's that too.

Honestly adding Waluigi in any fan Smash is basically a jump the shark moment, almost as much as an anime character.

Krystal should be based mostly on Fox's moveset from Star Fox Adventures; if it isn't then what are they even doing?

Removal of random encounters isn't the issue here(though I'll always disagree with the notion that they're useless or unnecessary) but rather the actual battles themselves. Random encounters can be gone, I like the idea of seeing Pokemon in the overworld, but that doesn't change the fact battles against wild Pokemom have been removed. Your compromise isn't as much of one as it is "yeah just bring wild battles back" which is exactly what I said they should never have removed :/
I feel this way about a lot of Let's Go. There's actually a lot of really good changes that I'd love to see in future games (Overworld pokemon, following pokemon, skippable cutscenes) that make me really excited about it, then there's the other changes such as removing wild battles and the lack of difficulty (as if the pokemon games were even difficult to begin with) that turn me away. Those new features aren't enough to offset what they lost in my eyes.

I'll no doubt end up getting it eventually just to experience some of those good changes though.

Basing Krystal on Assault is just weird.

Itd be like adding Tails but putting him in the Tornado mech from SA2.

I am going to be in here less. Eevee is really fun and Ultimate is coming out and these times have been more eventful.

I do...

Mega Man easily had the best customs in the game, in terms of canon (I guess) material, and different utilities (Palutena's very close for that). I really wanted to see what Sakurai would do for the DLC characters...

It's the best game ever if you ignore the Mech and Emerald Hunting gameplay.

What people really love about SA2 is the Sonic/Shadow gameplay and the Chao Garden.

And I say this as someone who loved Sonic Adventure 2 (all of it, even the Mech and EH gameplay).
Yeah, but people didn't like the Cyclone gameplay from what I hear. People wanted Tails but they didn't want him stuck inside a machine.
Tails on foot or what's the point?

This is the first I heard any Star Fox fans say Assault is anything more than 'ok'
It's the best game ever if you ignore the Mech and Emerald Hunting gameplay.

I used to love Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic and Shadow are still kinda fun if linear as hell with BS bottomless pit level design and a million inputs assigned to one button BS but everyone else ****ing sucks.

I still hold that the reason Tails vanished from playability is because his Flight ability completely destroys all game balance.

Tails is able to trivialise pretty much all stages made specifically for Sonic unless they are indoor corridors. If you're having Tails as a stand-alone character in a 3D space, he pretty much has to have his stages made specifically for him, with Flight as an intended part of the solutions to tackling the level.
