Apparently the entire lineup was decided entirely by Nintendo this time.

I, uh, don't know what to think other than LOLFIREEMBLEM and that I feel this doesn't bode well for the Geno/Banjo hopefuls.

Wish I could say he was, but I didn't even tried him out, for more than one reason. Mainly, I just wanted to see what the deal was, not play him or even buy him.

Wario Bros. I played some Brawlhalla. It’s really bad. I don’t know if you’ll get into it but there’s not much I like. The characters are all so lame and uninspired looking too.

From the amount I've played, I totally agree with you. All the characters feel pretty much the exact same even with weapons. Plus the game play feels pretty shallow too.

I have way more fun with Brawlout (which the Switch version is getting a major update tomorrow).

Despite everybody joking about more Mario, Fire Emblem and whatnot, I'm more than positive that Nintendo would actually carefully choose their picks.

I mean, it's also just as likely that the higher-ups of Nintendo were given a list of who's popular, some other characters from different franchises and whatnot and they looked at what was given, thought about things carefully, especially in regards of the popular characters, discussed among one another, than decided on the 5 they think would be best.......we can hope, right?

And from what I've heard, the character Weegee will be removed from the game.

Interesting. So we know for a fact all dlc is already decided and Sakurai has no input.

Also I gave up Geno after the last direct. It’s Sora’s time now. His big game is out the month after smash, has plenty of potential, big ballot presence, square is going all in in the switch, Nintendo has strengthened heir relationship with them and they have smash content already.

Sora is much more likely.

Also this kind of fuels the argument for why katalina could be in. Nintendo has stock in cypress I hear and they just worked with them on dragalia lost, maybe they want their new partnership represented in smash. Plus Gacha are popular enough in japan as is grand blue.

As for the Microsoft content. Who knows if they means banjo or Steve if a character is associated with it. As for the last two reps I don’t know.
