I love how mentioning my mom's first time playing Melee created an entire narrative. Love you guys. <3

On that note, she ended up playing Peach since Peach is one of the few video game characters she's familiar with. I should recommend some Armada combo videos for her to watch.

Man I love the theme for Stardust Crusaders.

Edit: weird that Avdol is still in the opening.

I tried changing to avatars I used before, but it didn't work.

I don't think OPs are that easily interchangeable. I mean, it was made in goddamn 3D. It'll probably last until the first season of it ends.
he'll find out eventually

I didn’t even play Dark Souls today!
I remember Dark Souls remastered just came out recently. I wonder if it's any good.

Yeah you’re probably right. I guess I mostly just find it odd since he’s in 9 episodes and it looks like there’s over 20 in the season.

DS Remastered is really good on Switch.

Aside from lower quality audio, the port runs fine even on Blighttown.

People are already making 8-bit sprite sheets for the Mega Man 11 Robot Masters. I wouldn't be surprised if it let to a "De-Make" some years later like how Mega Man 7 and Mega Man 8 got.

I always kept seeing this video on my suggestions but didn't watch until now.

Anyways yeah, it's obvious. The tl;dw is that Kubo was more interested in drawing "cool" moments over developing the world, story or characters. He had one home-run of an arc and kept reusing the same structure for his future arcs (Hitman Reborn had this same problem) and he was also pretty burned out on it which was the most obvious by the final arc.

Ichigo was also a main character that had no drive or reason, he was just there.

Kubo's art is still A+++ though and would take him over Oda, Kishi or even Toriyama any day.

Two weeks back, here I was hearing all the buzz about Goblin Slayer and not having much of a positive opinion on it (I did enjoy seeing Etika's reaction to the first episode and how he overreacted like crazy, but then hearing about the other elements to the anime aside from the goblins like some fans kept talking about on the Internet made me go, "You know what, I'll give it a watch."

And I'll be honest: I've warmed up to it.

Learning about the Goblin Slayer's backstory regarding why he hunts down did help me care about the character more learning how the goblins destroyed his village and used his older sister as a plaything then killed her. It didn't sell me on the character completely, but it helped me give more of a reason to care aside from "he's a badass."

This episode, though, has finally convinced to make this the anime I'll watch for the Fall 2018 season. The main team has finally assembled, and we are introduced to the other three supporting leads: High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizard Priest.

I'm already liking those three characters. They've got some good chemistry going on. High Elf Archer and Dwarf Shaman have a rather fun rivalry going on, and Lizard Priest is the voice of reason within the group. Seeing them bond with Goblin Slayer and Priestess at the bonfire was good stuff. It felt like a nice character moment from all of them as we learned more about each of them. Them being chill also lead to some comedic moments (drunk High Elf Archer was funny lol).

Of the three, High Elf Archer is my favorite so far. I've heard bits about her character before hand, but seeing her in action made me see why she's popular amongst the Goblin Slayer fans. She's the most rash of three and kinda arrogant, but she's got the other two members as her check. She's also pretty funny. She's the one I'd called "best girl" in Goblin Slayer so far.

I still wish those three characters had actual names other than what their class is, because very soon, I'm going to start referring by their initials like H.E.A. (might as well nickname her "Heya" since that's how the acronym sounds like when trying to pronounce it), G.S, D.S, and L.P. The story still feels like a basic fantasy story so far, but now that I got some characters in the show I want to follow and root for, you might as well say the anime has drawn me to watch the rest.

I actually napped for 6 hours one time when I was 17. That was wack.

The longest I’ve napped was 2 hours and that was yesterday lol
2 hours is usually the norm for me.

Like I don't nap very often as I used to but they're never less than an hour and a half. I think they're like maintenance when I dun ****ed up not getting enough sleep at night lol

Bleach works as a good example of why build up is so important. "Cool moments" won't be cool if there's no attachment to them. And with proper build up, you can make anything a "cool moment", even silly things like a game of poker.

There's a point where you have to ask yourself when a nap ends and the "passing out" starts

Pretty sure what happened back then was the result of me pulling multiple "all-nighters" because I had this thing as a teenager where I wanted to see if I was able to go a whole night (and the following day) without sleeping). And I actually accomplished that.

Funny because I can't comprehend even thinking about doing an all-nighter anymore with my anxiety and getting older in general. It's a recipe for disaster and basically one thing I can't do anymore.

Half hour naps are like a never for me lol. Though I guess everyone is different.

Napping is hit or miss so it's one of the reasons why it became infrequent for me.

Naps are basically the only way I can function anymore lol

Also I’ve been awake for full days+ multiple times. In fact 8 was up 37 hours a couple months ago.

Longest I’ve been awake is 49 hours... yes you read that right. No it wasn’t a good idea. Yes I felt like garbage afterwards. Yes I slept for 17 hours. Yes after 42 hours I was afraid to go to sleep cause I thought I wouldn’t wake up. After 45 my vision went wonky and I saw **** that wasn’t real. After 47 hours time strted to crawl and it felt like I was going in slow motion. When I hit 49 hours I blinked and it was 17 hours later and I was in my bed.

Reminds me of when Wall-E made a fat man standing up to the music of Also sprach Zarathustra a cool moment. So yeah, anything can be a cool moment with the proper setting and build-up.
