I like to put a link to music in my digs, but this time I put a Retsuprae from way back in the day. I'm returning to it now because of Halloween and how it helps me with my IRL problems (which no one wants to hear about).

I don't know, something about watching a dude run around a stupid adventure game makes me happy.

Nia is objectively the best option for a Xenoblade rep as she can fill the combat medic archetype which has no representation in Smash while also being able to represent the Blade Affinity mechanic with Dromarch. A lot of Dromarch's Blade Arts are also directly applicable to Smash such as Damage Heal. Nia also has a pretty unique and versatile weapon that they can do a lot with for attack animations. Her healing properties could also make team battles more interesting. She's also taken first place on a ton of popularity polls in the Xenoblade community. Rex and Pyra are more recognisable in general (not by much though since Nia was also revealed very early), but Nia is a clear fan favourite of the Xenoblade fandom, and I'd rather see a character get in for that reason than just soullessly for "muh promotion" (which she could accomplish on her own anyway so it's kind of a moot point).

And if Sakurai doesn't care about spoilers, which he doesn't seem to, he could use Nia's Blade form to give her a second moveset a la Melee Zelda/Sheik. Or at the least, it could be incorporated into her Specials or Final Smash. The design might need to be censored a bit, though.

Alternatively, Tora & Poppi serve as a good alternative and would be really unique with how Poppi's different forms bring an eclectic mix of different personalities to the table, and could make them an effective generalist with the three different weapon types. Also, Tora is a Nopon, and Nopon are the mascots of Xenoblade (the JP Xenoblade 2 Twitter even has a Nopon OC as it's "host", who made it into the actual game through the Challenge Battle DLC), so he's recognisable sort of on that alone.
