The last time I checked the Smashboards discord, it was basically a mortuary. Might have changed since then, though. but if you like Fire Emblem stuff on Discord, I highly recommend the links in my signature

I see. I mean I kinda know why they don't have it on top of the page, because then what use would there be for the forums when you got Discord.
In the end I'm just trying to find a good place to Scottpost and have a fun time man lmao

Tried with a few Discord servers, but just didn't really vibe with them; they don't have problems, just weren't for me, I suppose. Tried the Etika community, and BOY WAS THAT FUN.

What the hell are you wearing, Red? You look like you took a hazmat suit, replaced the mask with a Securitron TV screen from Fallout, stuck two French fries at the top of the TV and dunked yourself in a bucket of red and black paint.

None of the staff condone any blatant discrimination. Irene and I are trans. I'm a minority who wouldn't tolerate any white supremacist/fascists in general under any ordinary circumstance.

That said, we're on a video game website. As much as I would love to police people based on what they've done literally anywhere else on the Internet, the mods that handled the situation discussed it over and came to the agreement that we draw from things here specifically to set any precedents. What happens There's on the site itself is what we act on, so the moment they bring any images/any mention of it here creates said precedent and is then acted upon (that avatar brought up was removed/the user was messaged and warned, the obvious incident recently wound up with some bans, etc.). If it is severe enough, we outright ban people, but usually we will warn them until they get banned normally. The ignore button exists until that happens.

I'm aware that's not the decision everyone is happy with, but instead of just bringing things up about it here, that's what forum support is meant to be for (or even sending an actual PM to the moderator you take issue with). There's no ranking or anything like that, even our own individual decisions can be overturned. My apologies if you feel it's "useless" and feel undermining our efforts is instead the best way of getting anything actually done.

Sorry, but Forum Support does jack ****, I can say something, get no replies until a week if I'm lucky and then get "Well the issue is already resolved lol". Especially when I know for a fact I've hit report on the guy who had a literal neonazi, Stefan Molyneaux, as an avatar. If following the rules completely by quitely reporting does nothing, what else do I do? It gives me the impression that I could be in charge for a month and the place would be significantly improved. Not judging you Ismar, as I previously said, I know it's not just a single mod but that you guys likely have a rank system with admins who can go "lolno that's not a problem" and then whatever you tried to do can't happen anymore

In any forum where I get access to the admin panel, I usually turn the gender field into a textbox instead of/in addition to a choice of predetermined options. Letting people decide that for themselves is the best way to handle it. If that isn't possible, then I just add an "other" option. Anything to make it not just a binary choice, where the only "other" option is to leave it blank.

Unfortunately that carries the risk of people thinking it's funny to go "lol I'll put attacl helicopter in" but of course, a swift ban would suffice as a consequence

Yeah I’d like it for the text box option. That would be the best. It’s a hassle changing my gender back and forth everyday that’s why I just keep it as female lol

If you have options for "male", "female", and "other", where the latter lets people enter their own info, most people seem to be reasonable about it, from my experience. You get a few trolls like that, sure, but like you said they're easily dealt with if they try causing trouble.
