Start using Jakob. You get a great wall if you give him the right skills and he can deal with flier units really damn well.

In FE Heroes, yeah. Officially, they're called boons and banes. Your boon will be one more than the neutral value at Lv. 1, and three more than the neutral stat at Lv. 40. Bane is the same but is less than the neutral value.

Normal FE games just have growth rate percentages.

Base 55 ATK, +6 (Death Blow), +6 (Hone Fliers) = 67 ATK

Brave Axe = Attack twice

Jakob has 38 DEF, 40 HP.

67-38 means Cherche would do 29 damage. Jakob would be left at 11, and be killed with the second hit.

At least, I think this is how it'd go for Cherche.
