I'll give you the first two paragraphs.

Former is a result of a disjointed narrative that allows the players to do whatever at their leisure, and I feel like it'd still be served by closing in a bit on the player's heels and giving them a bit of a sense of urgency. Or, alternately, to show the world more as locked in a stasis than at eminent threat of destruction, and have Link go about freeing it. It's a pain in the **** to theorize alternate possibilities that would properly mesh, but I feel there were better options to explore that would have explained, perhaps even embraced, the generally relaxed attitude towards everything else.

Latter, I'm inclined to both agree and disagree with. I like the characters and dialogue we get, generally speaking, except for the quips in a Divine Beast. Anyone tied to the main story that we meet in person - as opposed to the Champions, from flashback - was pretty good. But even those, and leagues more the remaining characters, could have been made a great deal more three-dimensional. I think I posted some kind of alternate take for the Champions once that fleshed them a bit, would've basically swapped dialogue for the already useless notes about how many switches remain in each beast, and would've taken a similar amount of dev time. But I'm willing to acknowledge the rest of the world would've taken time away from polishing the engine, mechanics, shrines, and environments that really made BotW what it was. Wouldn't go so far as to call it a necessary sacrifice - would call it understood.

Final paragraph I disagree on. Exploration was always exciting for me through my playtime, and I was always finding interesting bits and secrets. But perhaps that's because I walked into each area expecting to see cool and new things, and triumph over the environment in interesting ways - and in those aspects, I was pleasantly rewarded nine times out of ten. If I was rewarded with goods or tools as well so be it, but the journey was in many ways enough for me. Now if you were more geared towards seeking quest rewards, yeah, you didn't get much. But that seems to have been a mostly deliberate choice, making the journey the reward rather than some chest at the end, and I'm personally fine with it. Understand where you're coming from, respect the opinion, but I don't share it myself.

Anyway. That's my two. Won't begrudge you your distaste either way; at least we seem to mostly be on the same page about areas for improvement.

Symptoms match either a cold or a minor sinus infection. Lean more towards former than latter, but it's a bit hard to say. But since chemo wrecks immune systems amongst everything else it wrecks - and hers is pretty compromised as it is - I can't afford risks.

So instead of being there with her the weekend before **** hits fan, celebrating the anniversary of a thing she's admitted has kept her going through all this...I'm stuck here in my computer chair, faffing about on the internet, cradling rolls of toilet paper and a box of Zicam swabs whose expiry date I'm pretending is an unfortunate typo, wishing I could at least be arsed to go out and grab some cough drops and Taco Bell.

I say this is the funny bit.

But I ain't what you'd call amused by it.

Well hey if Super can do outrageous buffs to characters that were massively behind the others in power I don't see why that can't happen.

That also sounds similar to the Plan to Eradicate All Saiyans OVA somewhat.

I was surprised to see that Sagat and G are coming out tomorrow, but it makes me glad that I got the Street Fighter V season 3 pass in my latest Steam shopping spree.

I feel like Capcom's got an even crazier announcement in store for grand finals (seeing as, today alone, we got confirmation that a new Guilty Gear game's being worked on, the announcement of a Smash-themed Nintendo Direct, Anna/Lei/Negan (plus three others) in Tekken, and Cooler in FighterZ during the grand finals of those games), but it's past midnight, so I'm not staying up to watch it.

While I can agree that BotW is overrated in some ways, I feel Odyssey is much more overrated.

And regardless of that, BotW objectively deserved GOTY more than Odyssey. Odyssey came out at the end of the year and even throughout the year beforehand, it wasn't talked about too much.

BotW is a game people had been talking about for years and continued talking about for the year after it came out. That's the definition of perfect GOTY material right there.

I think both are GOTY unfortunately, however I do agree that Botw offers way better content than Odyssey.
Nevertheless, XC2 is always on that holy spot as my most fav Switch game, until I got Octopath Traveler and Ys VIII and see how these games are.

I think it's pretty much a thing that is just spoiled that Morag is not an actual antagonist lol.

So two awesome things that happened.

1. HOLY ****ING **** MY FAVORITE DRAGON BALL CHARACTER IS IN FIGHTERZ AHHHHHHH, ****ING COOLER!!!!!!

2. It's basically confirmed that Breath of the Wild takes place after a "Dragon Break" caused by Ocarina of Time. Meaning that after Ocarina of Time the Dragon Break started and after EVERY SINGLE GAME IN THE ZELDA TIMELINE the Dragon Break ended and merged with Breath of the Wild. So Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time officially has the weirdest connection in the timeline. My headcannon tells me that the First Calamity, the one before the events of BotW (If I'm remembering right), is what caused the Dragon Break. Merging the timelines after that calamity.

No hype at all, even watching it myself I feel bored.

At least the trailers were good. But DBFZ's top 8 was just too wild.

With the direct coming, come up with a trailer for any character you might like or characters! No real rules, so get creative!

I'll Start:

A minecart is seen speeding through the tunnel as the Captain Toad Treasure Track theme plays. All of a sudden the cart comes to a halt launching the Captain as he Flies into a forest and the title screen
"Captain Toad Picks a Fight"
kicks in.

But it's not over yet! As gameplay is briefly shown, it cuts back and CT is exploring. We see something glimmer off screen and the feeling the forest has been seen before is envoked. CT approaches but an Arrow comes flying after him. But its stopped by a fire ball! Mario burst in to aid his friend. However as Mario looks up as arrows start raining.
All of a sudden a flaming Whirl bursts through destroying them all. A hooden figure comes leaping down from a platform.

"Geno Whirls in!"
*Forest Maze starts playing as more gameplay is shown, before the trailer ends with Mario Geno, and CT are showing beating Bowyer from Mario RPG and Posing with the the legendary Star.

Bonus round:

The screen is all black. It fades in and out as music slowly plays in the background lowered but getting louder. Footage is cut between the heroes and villains fighting each other. Things are looking even but start to get bad. The heroes begin to lose( Mario, Link, Samus, etc).

A voice is heard "Darkness is stronger then light! Will you still resist?

Another voice chimes in:

"Argh... I know what I must do! I'll side with dark!"

is now at full blast as those sweet af guitar rifts kick in.

Sora arises from the dark rushing into battle.

"Sora lights up the battlfield!"

Sora using a variety of moves saves the heroes and brings back the light

I have an idea for one more but might share that later. Anyway thoughts?
