To be honest, the discussion still seemed relatively civil (after an initial heat that simmered quickly). To me, I think it was a TAD overreaction...

Salt.
Endless salt.
Granted, I too, am salty, but I express my salt with backhanded humor
Okay, for those who want a TL;DR. What happened was that Smash 4's top 8 at EVO was dominated by Bayonetta and Diddy Kong (with some surprises like Lucina and Duck Hunt). This was disappointing to many, but okay, generally.Yo, Im super out of the loop, guess i check Redd-
Dang, Chrono was right, Smesh 4 is Roman. Reigns now.
The End of Smash 4: You Can (Not) Stale.
'guess that a giant white Bayo fallen on Smashboard servor, 'cuz it's just crashing right now.
Actually the servor snaps in two.Giant Naked Bayonetta with her head falling off?

The disrespect to the audience is probably the worst of the three. It is really unfortunate that a game like Smash 4 had to be shown off at EVO in such a way because of things like that. The shameless disrespect to the community, the audience, and the event itself is awful.
I think that is a question that doesn't have an answer. Why did it have to be this way?
Gotta keep it esports-friendly man.lol if I were a TO I would tell them to stop being ******* and play the game seriously, with extra emphasis on "*****" to hype the audience left.
Then I would get fired... but I would keep my Style.
Melee’s balance is horrible too.Simple.
People don't like Smash 4's mechanics.
People don't like Smash 4's remainimg top players.
People don't like Smash 4's horrible balancing
People don't like Smash 4. Period.
Gotta keep it esports-friendly man.
>Bashing the competitive Smash community on a forum created for itlets be real the competitive smash community deserved this grand finals, you can balk and disagree all you want but deep in your heart its what you know to be true
Hmm, interesting. Maybe I'll watch it too.Apparantly, there was a really great match between a Diddy & Duck Hunt player.
Judging by peoples comment anyway, I have to see it myself, but peoples reaction seem to be really positif and not in a ironic sort of way.
'don't know if it have been posted, but once it does, I should watch it and see the good match that came from EVO, small as they may be.
Yes, sabotaging the Final Match because the audience made them feel bad just makes them look like petulant children.I don't blame Captain Zack or Lima for being upset with the audience. Being constantly booed like that is going to get to you no matter what, and that's something that should be addressed in the future regardless of whether Bayo gets nerfed or not.
I do however blame them for the way they reacted. When they made a joke of the Grand Finals, they didn't just disrespect the naysayers, they disrespected the players who fought for a chance at Grand Finals and the trophy, they disrespected the Tournament Organizers who put work into making the event what it is, and they disrespected the viewers who weren't in on the booing in the first place and just wanted a good match between players. Grand Finals is not the time to 'get back' at anyone, everyone's there to win, you're there to win, and people are there to watch you win. Throwing that all away for a petty comeback does not reflect well and it just makes a mockery of the game and the tournament that many have invested themselves in. At the very least they should've been more mindful of those who are putting in that time to make the EVO tournament the best it can be, not making it an unnecessary drama for your self satisfaction.
Melee is the most broken popular competitive game in the world. The techs used are literally just things that are broken and unintended, so like....Melee’s balance is horrible too.
The things used for techs are not necessarily broken, per se. They're more unintended consequences of the inherent game mechanics.Melee is the most broken popular competitive game in the world. The techs used are literally just things that are broken and unintended, so like....
Yeah, but the tippy top tiers plateau much more evenly than 4's.Melee’s balance is horrible too.
Even after the heat death of the universe, people will still be playing Melee.Melee will still be around after the Rapture...
"Heat death of the universe" aka "Luigi's Up B landing lag"Even after the heat death of the universe, people will still be playing Melee.
...Wait.
I mean...I guess it's not the best analogy but alright, sure.I mean, atleast I haven't throw a controller to the floor while playing Smash.
But I did broke my first DS and damaged my 3DS out of anger...(tho, for the DS, I was younger and more stupid. For the 3DS, I was older, but the 3DS still worked for some time, and I did bought another one to replace it)
Tbh that Sounds Perfect.Man I've been at work for 15 minutes and the radio has played 2 Ed Sheeran songs. What the ****
Good advice, man. Need to remember that myself.I mean...I guess it's not the best analogy but alright, sure.
Point is, what you're going to put to paper won't be utter trash. Whatever's broken, it can be fixed; whatever needs optimizing or improvement, that can be done too.
But you can't do **** all without words on a page. Get em there.
MVD vs Raito. Best match of the whole tournament. It's exactly the kind of match that shows what the game can and should be. Two players that are in each other's heads the whole match, dead close the entire time.Apparantly, there was a really great match between a Diddy & Duck Hunt player.

I see then.I mean...I guess it's not the best analogy but alright, sure.
