I downloaded this app called Duolingo and I have seven courses.
I did the best in French apparently so I might start up with French first.
Duolingo is something that I have been using to learn Spanish, personally. I use it most days of the week.
Duolingo is very good with establishing the basics of each language you are learning. However, I would also recommend being engrossed in the language by going to a country that speaks said language, or reading literature or watching tv in said language, etc. Being exposed to the language directly is the best way to learn, because you have to interact with it in a practical way in order to understand what is going on. Picking up vocabulary and grammar textbooks on the different languages you are learning can also help you go in depth.

But I will say that Duolingo does establish the basics very nicely.

In addition to having English as my first language, I've been learning German in school. I'm no expert, but learning it hasn't really been that though. Although, I do forget some things from time to time.

That is what my dad told me, to watch a show in that language.

That is what I have been considering. The problem is, most shows have only English and Spanish for audio.

Maybe you could find something that is in Spanish, but with English subtitles to start. Once you become more fluent in the language, you can wean off the subtitles and watch a show in raw Spanish, nothing else. I'm sure those kind of shows exist out there.

Yes, that's why they were high school art teachers. #ShotsFiredYes, that's why they were high school art teachers. #ShotsFired
Well, I'm hardly going to disagree with you, since they never actually bothered to teach me proper drawing techinques.

Specifically what are your goals?
Well, I'm a aspiring Game Designer, so I want to be able to make human characters that aren't garbage, and well so I can draw out my game concepts better.

Plus I want to be able to draw Yuri couples properly, cause hey, what can I say like what I like, plus want to try and atempt to make a silly Visual Novel one day.

But I mainly just want to have my drawing skills for my Game Design improved.

Iwas getting a good foundation in Uni, finally had a concept artist teachervwho would push me in the right direction, but I had to drop out, so my skills went back to the crapppy foundation.

While we're on that line of thought, Dark Pit is "If you call me goth I'm putting you on ignore IRL."
Okay, Pittoo, the Perky Goth. :V

We have three Links, and Paper Mario has his own series of games (meaning a lot of potential), so honestly Paper Mario would be one of the best additions to the roster. And I say that as someone who vastly prefers Toad, it's either CT/Toad/Paper Mario for a new Mario character at this point, the rest aren't worth the resources.

Ridley had more to offer than just "popular char". He's the main villain of Metroid, which has been a series included since the original Smash Bros. Waluigi, on the other hand, doesn't have a status anywhere near Ridley at all as he's just shows up to play Golf and Tennis. Ridley definitely didn't get in just because "popularity!".

With Daisy, I don't see why you think they'd be smacked together. She's just as capable of using the moves as Waluigi and having her Up-Smash be the Dice or her Side-Smashes be a baseball bat wouldn't be out of place. It doesn't need a cohesive theme for it to work with Daisy. There's plenty of characters who have one-off moves. Peach for example uses the golf racket but IIRC nothing else from the spinoffs is in her moveset at all.
That's nice and all, but I still don't want Paper Mario. I just don't like having more than one version of the same character. Same reason I'm not a fan of Zero Suit Samus.

By the time Ultimate's roster was decided, Ridley had the same credentials he did in Smash 4. He wasn't playable in Smash 4. Fan demand was the sole factor that got him into Ultimate.

Movesets aren't just "a list of actions." That's what a lot of poorly-made Smash Bros. clones don't seem to grasp. A moveset needs an underlying theme, and not just slapping things together and calling it a down smash. Waluigi using those moves follows a theme based off his personality. Daisy using those exact moves lacks that link back to her, making the set feel tacked on.
Little Mac didn't go from assist to playable in the same game, which would be what Waluigi would be doing now if he gets promoted through DLC.
And DLC production hasn't begun yet. If Sakurai noticed the fan demand too late, he has a chance to rectify it. He isn't bound to his thoughts when deciding the roster three years ago.

Ehh, didn't Ridley have Samus Returns on the 3DS? I'm not sure, I don't keep up with Metroid, but my point is that Ridley's popularity may have led Sakurai to reconsider his status as a boss character. Waluigi's isn't likely to get Sakurai to reconsider him if he's never considered him in the first place.

Daisy still could use the moves just fine, and I don't think they'd feel tackled on at all. I could imagine her fighting using the dice, using a baseball bat, etc. She's a sporty, competitive, energetic gal, so her bringing her dice from Mario Party, her baseball bat from Sluggers, and a soccer ball from Strikers would tie into that very well.

It's true that DLC production hasn't started, but popularity alone still won't be enough for Waluigi to get into Smash. He has no importance to his series (so Ridley's situation can't apply to him) and Mario is still missing two very crucial characters (a Toad and Paper Mario, regardless of if you want him or not). There also is Geno to consider should Sakurai choose to add him. Waluigi has nothing to him to make him stand out against his competition.

Mostly what I was getting at was what's your design language preference.

The reality is if you want a career in game design, then stay away from anime art. It will get you nowhere in the west and far too often people just starting out spend all their time learning techniques for an art design language that makes you completely unhireable.

But if you want to hobby in game design, then by all means, anime away. It's not as though anime doesn't sell at all in the west, it's just not something you'll find very much paid work for.

I've got lots of personal favorite artbooks, it's just a question of what you're specifically looking to learn how to do.

You know what?

I said golf racket

and I'd do it again LOL

Peach uses a golf racket in her moveset. A golf pole. A golf stick.

I'll give you Captain Toad.

The rest isn't worth googling the Garbodor, but I'll give you Captain Toad.

Not gonna bother disassembling the rest of the post; can't be arsed to on mobile and by now someone probably already has.

But obligatory ding dong your opinion is wrong, etc.

I interrupt heated Smash speculation debate #2363210 to inform you all of this trailer for Sonic Amateur Games Expo 2018.

This year's line up looks like one of the best, partly because of the surprising amount of 3D games featured, including a 3D Mega Man game. Can't wait to try some of these out.

There's also a fighting game that looks like a hybrid of Marvel VS and Smash with Sonic, DBZ, and Street Fighter characters. Bizarre but looks really fun.

Fortunately my lone favorite is Tails and he's been dumped on so often I just kind of slink to the corner and don't bring it up unless I think there's a safe zone, so without a horse in the race I'm free to mostly just boo and toss popcorn at anyone that crosses the line too far.

Captain/Any Toad and Paper Mario are leagues ahead than Waluigi in terms of a good addition.

Shoot.

Even Toadette would be. Toadette by herself, without Toad/CT.

At least she has Paper Mario TTYD, Captain Toad, Odyssey, and Super Mario Run under her belt, along with all of her spinoff appearances, lol.

I still don't get why you act like Tails is this widely hated character. He's one of the most popular Sonic characters. I don't see any of this "hate" you keep mentioning.

The roster was finalized in 2015, long before Samus Returns. It had no impact on Ridley getting in. And that's a double standard. Waluigi getting snubbed made the news. Sakurai will likely at least reconsider him.

Pulling out random props isn't a great idea for a moveset unless it revolves around that being the theme, and we have Game and Watch for that. Like I said, a good moveset isn't just a set of moves.

You can't say popularity won't be enough because it was enough for Ridley. Importance doesn't really matter when every truly important Mario character is already in, save for Captain Toad. And even then, Chrom was more important to Awakening than Robin and especially Lucina. Importance isn't the sole factor.

And I still don't know how our non-Smashboards website spreads can be so different, LOL.

Mostly just past experience lurking GameFAQs and current experience browsing SmashERA, the latter of which kind of lampshaded it too.

I don't have the guts to check the actual Sonic fandom websites I used to anymore because off the coattails of Generations when I browsed that most they already hated literally anything and everything in existence. Granted back then at least they didn't want any more Sonic characters in Smash either.

Honestly, I wish people didn't have to be so aggressive about the Sonic franchise... especially with your past experiences, I suppose it just hurts when I've known how much you love this franchise.

You know, thinking it over, I don't think any of my most wanted characters wear cool shoes. They either wear pretty generic shoes, no shoes, or in Chrom's case, wear two different shoes because they're a fashion disaster.
