Is Ivysaur's recovery really that lackluster to use, even with the removal of edge hogging? I really do want him to be better this time around (and I feel he is in most places, it's just the recovery that we have to question)

It felt bad... Mostly on the vertical department. Pros do say that you can change to Charizard on the fly to use his better recovery rather than trying to snatch the ledge with Ivysaur, but on my first match I really wasn't going to try that. You have to be far from the ledge, if you get too close the up-b whiffs, or at least thst's what happened to me. Seems easy to challenge him offstage. His other moves felt nice, mostly up and down air, but yeah, his recovery let to be desired.

As for the Ice Climbers... why do I have a feeling they might be low tier this time around because of the changes to Nana? Of course, I understand why they did it as people (including me) hated wobbling and chain grabbing in Melee and Brawl respectively, but I'm sure there's a way to balance around it.

Yeah, I kinda agree. Nana at this point felt like she wasn't even there, she wasn't a threat at all. Don't know how they will change on the future, but at this point I don't see them as strong characters.

I know nothing about Fire Emblem outside of Smash Bros., Awakening, and Fates, so I'm no help there. (the permanent death system in the older games doesn't really appeal to me - I'd hate to permanently lose a character or have to be constantly be resetting a game because a random enemy gets a lucky critical hit or I'm forced to use a flying unit in a mission with a lot of archers or something)

I'll only do Hyrule because that one doesn't have a huge cast and thus, can be more challenging.

I'll only talk about FE Warriors since I haven't played Hylure Warriors and don't have the knowledge for it. Without further ado, the FE Warriors 2 roster!

Games to focus: Shadows of Valentia, Sacred Stones and Radiant Dawn (honestly I'd like to say Tellius but I don't know if that's breaking the rules, so I'll just pick RD because more characters)

SoV characters:
-Alm (duh)
-Mathilda (lance cavalier, class not in the previous game, and I like her a lot)
-Tobin (horse archer, class not in the previous game)
-Mae (I like her and she's friends with Celica)
-Saber (one of the most important characters from Celica's route)
-Sonya (Fanservice)

Picked three from Alm's route and three from Celica's route, maybe should diversify the classes a bit, but I would be fine with these characters. Honourable mention to Catria because she's never making it into the game, but I'd love if she did.

Sacred Stones:
-Eirika (duh)
-Ephraim (DUH)
-Myrrh (Dragon, would be fun)
-Innes (archer, hopefully with a different moveset that everyone from the first game lol)
-Amelia (Armored lance)

Sacred Stones receives the main characters (I would be so excited to play as Ephraim), plus some fan favorite characters. Sad to cut Tana, but we have enough lance fliers and want some variety, plus I need the extra space for the non game focused characters.

Jeez, this one was hard. Had to leave out all the Greil Mercenaries, but I wanted some variety, and the laguz would definitely offer some new gameplay, that's for sure. Jill is a bias from me since it's my second favourite character from the game, but she could be a pretty cool lance/axe wyvern. I really wanted to have Soren, Mia, Nephenee and many others, but it is what it is.

The non focused:

-Hector (DUH)
-Eliwood (sword cavalier)
-Roy (our boy)

Yep, all Elibe characters, though 2 are from Blazing Sword and Roy from Binding Blade. Hector and Eliwood are there because having Lyn alone is a crime, and Hector would be a super cool character. Eliwood is there because he deserves more love, even though he isn't as interesting, having Lyn and Hector but not him would be stupid. And last we would have Roy due to his popularity, and honestly I'd like to see him support with Eliwood.

Welp, this was fun, don't know how likely it would be, but I tried to couple both my preferences with what I think would best for variaty and their likeliness.

It's a bit easier for me to come up with ideas for a potential FE Warriors sequel than a Hyrule Warriors sequel, but I'll try my best for both of them.

FE Warriors
Shadows of Valentia: Alm, Clive, Mae, Boey, Lukas, and Saber
Blazing Blade: Eliwood, Hector, Marcus, Matthew, Athos, and Oswin

What would a Hyrule//FE Warriors sequel be called? Just slap a 2 on it like the other Dynasty Warriors?
I don't quite recall other franchises that got the Dynasty treatment a sequel to their own that wasn't just a port/rerelease

They'd likely put a 2 on it, like they did with One Piece Pirate Warriors, Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage, and Dragon Quest Heroes.

I wonder what the plot would be, though, especially for HW2. I mean, everything's already done, is it just a Zelda II situation where you have to stop it from coming back?

I got a challenge for ya.

Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriros have a lot of great characters in them.

But I'd like you guys to talk about potential sequels.

So, let's think of more characters to add in both.

Some rules though.

1. Assume that every character in Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors is coming back in this new sequel. That includes DLC. Not cuts whatsoever.
2. No movesets or weapons will be changed. Also no costumes will be changed or removed.
3. Much like the base Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, you must focus on three games. So pick the three you want to focus on. To help remind you, Hyrule Warriors focused on Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Fire Emblem Warriors focused on Shadow Dragon, Awakening and Fates. Do not choose any of those six games for a focus.
4. You will add 20 characters. No more than six of them should be from the same game. However, your three focused games should have at least four characters each. Any extra spots can be used however you like however, any non focus game can't have any more than three characters total.

Have at them! If enough people respond, I'll post my own list.

FEW has 19 movesets HW has 43, and better in quality. Nuff said...but i actually dont want a FEW sequel if they keep this direction.


For FEW i would pick Three Houses obviouly but dunno.
Anyways...i dont know as much about FE pre-awakening so I'm using FEH character list and google to help choose.

If you asked me I think FEW was made mostly just off of the HW success and not much further than that. I mean, I guess it's the only other mainstream property that can be applied into a Warriors game that I can think of at the moment except for that one DK Warriors fever dream I had. Just feels pretty soulless compared to HW, but that's just me.
