@octopath people

if you don't have the wolf girl in your party

you're wrong :troll:

If I ever get the game, I'd plan on soloing it with her, she's the only character I'd need. I LOVE hunters/beast tamers
H'annit? Yeah I dont Cyrus does a good enough job as a hunter on my team already

WAIT A SECOND OCTOPATH PEOPLE! What is all this reclassing you are talking about??? HOW DO I DO IT?

Another question, is there a way to change the character you chose first from your party? I love Prim, but she's overleveled and I rather train other characters.

Currently sitting at 17 hours, and done everyone's chapter 1 and both Prim and Therion chapter 2. Things get difficult once you leave chapter 1 lol.

Your protagonist can’t leave your party. Maybe down the line but not at the beginning

you guys are really making me want to spend 60 bucks on this game, wow

is it THAT good? Maybe H'aanit's hometown/beginning arc just wasn't interesting and all the others were?

Subjobs can be accessed by going to shrines for each one. They're usual by the chapter 2 towns next to each character. I looked them up, cause I couldn't be bothered to search for them randomly, and they didn't seem like much of a spoiler.

Unfortunately not until you beat the main character's story can you switch them out. But you're party should catch up in levels eventually.

Primrose's is one of the better opening's along with Olberic's. The game is worth getting if you like JRPGs

Part of it is also probably the fact that you have bad opinions.

I watched Incredibles 2 today.

Really fantastic stuff.

Also the amount of "blink and you'll miss it " political/social jabs they had in there was honestly crazy.

I also had to explain the meaning of Bao to my friend lol.

Here's a really cool Bomberman twitter that essentially say "Yup, it's Bomberman" along with a picture. Always nice to see what great pictures and videos come up.

Here's a wacky Bomberman World Commercial:

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Olberic says "Oho". Giving him Apothecary also gives him access to Axes and makes him more tanky. Olberic voice actor is Patrick Seitz, Olberic is Hector confirmed!

LOL you're not wrong

I'm too busy trying to make out what the dialogue is that I can't focus on the game itself :joyful:

What about you, vaan? Are you an Octopather or are you not getting it/haven't gotten it yet?

I don't have time for video games anymore, lol. If it'd come out a couple years earlier I'd've been all over it.

R.I.P. nooooooooooooo

maaaaaan, having no time must really be lame :'^(

I'm relatively free myself but honestly even I am SHOCKED that there's people putting 1,000 hours in Splatoon 2 and Skyrim. That's like three hours a day. And they haven't even been out for a year!:(

I know in like June or July after MK8D released I saw a picture of someone who had put 1,000 hours into MK. It released in late April! In two months, they managed 1,000 hours!

It's not so bad. All that time I used to spend playing games I now spend making them.
Is it fun to play through them, even after you made them?

I feel like depending on the genre, developing the game would kind of break the game. . . it doesn't exactly seem like fun to go hunt out the collectables you specifically hid. That's like playing hide and seek with yourself!:joyful:

There's an immense satisfaction that comes from playing something you built. Developers are their own consumers.

Huh, I can see that. That makes a lotta sense!

I'm curious, though, how long have you been developing games? Is it hard? Do you work alone, or do you work in a group? There's some developers that work alone and they actually pull it off, pretty impressive !!!

You can still have fun the second time you play a game even though you already know all the secrets. It's like that. It doesn't matter that none of it is new for you.

And when you collect something in a game you play, you get that feeling like "nice, I collected that." But when you collect something in a game you built, you get a different feeling, the feeling like "nice, the code did not explode when I touched that banana."

Oh wow, that makes a lotta sense!!!

See, I was thinking that a lot of the fun comes from the element of surprise, like winging something and actually doing it right on the first try, or just walking and doing something right, so if you actually made the game, then that element's gone, you know? Or the fun comes from piecing together enough clues to find the item, like the discovery aspect? And that's gone as well, since you know where you put it, since... you made it. LOL

But that makes a lotta sense!!! Kind of a different perspective, since the satisfaction is from coding correctly rather than achieving the goal, that's really cool!

As far as being technically capable of developing a full, finished product, about a year.

I've been reverse engineering some of my favorite games to teach myself stuff, most recently I recreated the Zelda 64 camera in Unreal, which is definitely one of the more complicated things I've coded. But I've begun to get a pretty good handle on things. Enough that once I graduate in, yikes, 9 weeks, I'll be starting work on something more real. Maybe if you keep an eye out, you might be seeing something from me sometime in the future. ;)

Pun intended?

That's really impressive, though!!! Maaaaaan, the only experience I have with coding is creating some Flash MX games. Recreating a whole camera? Whaaaaaaaaaat? Gee willikers! How long/hard was that???

If you ever get hooked up w/ a job @ Ninty, you're going to leak some details, right ?????:laugh:
