At this point I'm basically convinced that you're my evil counterpart from a parallel universe

It's extremely effective. It's no more boring than regular grinding, really.

why are the bowties for rowlet and dartrix green but it turns orange with decidueye

why does dartrix get bangs but they just get removed in decidueye in favor for a hood that comes out of nowhere???

again, why does decidueye just have that one feather on his head

why does decidueye's face include blue/orange eyeliner when rowlet's and dartrix's faces were just white with an orange beak (why does decidueye's beak turn blue???)

why does rowlet have beige wings decidueye beige wings, but dartrix white???

why does dartrix suddenly gain brown all over him, a brown that isn't present in decidueye at all

not only that, but some features of magikarp are still present in Gyarados, such as the side fins, the fin on the top, the whiskers...

the rowlet line has like. none of that. I don't think it's based on a myth and it's VERY inconsistent with each stage.

That just means you're not the game's target audience. Nothing wrong with those games existing, a lot of people like them.

Nintendo and anime games exist for yourself.

I mean you can have a game be both fun and have a lot of meaning to it as well.
Nier Automata is an excellent recent example of that. There's some really powerful, deep and meaningful moments but the game is also an absolute blast to play.

There's nothing wrong with a game wanting to say something meaningful, what bothers me is this "can games be art?" trend that seems to believe for a game to be art, it has to be some deep significant ****. That statement effectivelly says the game can't be 'fun' as it would otherwise be a detriment to its narrative. Games are a form of entertainment and if you can't even make your game fun, you failed at its primary function. Use games for whatever function you wish, just don't forget what games essentially are at their base: fun.
And this isn't something exclusive to games, mind you, it just seems more prominent in games themselves because they're not necessarily narrative-driven yet we keep seeing games try to tackle certain topics in their narratives that just come off as pretentious.

Gen 5's storyline ranks tied in 2nd with RSE to me. But as far as the Pokemon training, typing, etc goes? Down. The. Toilet. One of the reasons I've never finished BW is because of how BAD the grinding is. The higher you are, the less EXP you get? WTF man I just want to train my Pokemon, not go on a grinding train to a ****ing 80+ hour game

Gen V's Exp system is actually very favorable to grinding. If you're underleveled, your Pokémon is gaining a notable increase in the amount of exp and levels they get, so you're able to get them up to par faster then in other generations. If they're at the same level, they actually gain more Exp. then if you were using the flat rate, so it's still a benefit at that point as well, and if they're above their level they don't start getting diminishing returns until either 10 levels or after, which means that unless you're just trying to crush the single player campaign you're probably not going to notice the difference in how much Exp. you're 'losing'. On top of that, Gen V also gave players access to an early Day Care, Exp. Share, easy access to a Lucky Egg, Audinos, and powers that boosted your exp through the Entralink, so the games do try to make sure you have everything at your disposal to keep your team strong and well trained.

In general, Gen V was actually pretty friendly when it came to the options it provided the player. You have a lot of means to get your team up to par and you don't get negatively affected by it until very high levels due to how the system works. At the very least, it's much more favorable then at least Gen 2, which had an awful level curve that forced you to grind without many means to curb it (and this is coming from a huge fan of the games).
