If Cloud and Bayo DIDN'T come back, I'm fairly certain more people would be upset about that than if they returned.

To be fair, that's going to be the reaction for any character cut.

I've never really seen any rage over Cloud. Maybe a few people here and there saying he doesn't fit due to his loose connection with Nintendo, but I think the reaction to his addition was mostly positive.

You haven't met Golden :V

But seriously, there's some people complaining about Cloud. They're just more quiet nowadays since Bayonette is much more prominent.

Bayo's seems to mostly come from conspiracy theorists who are just mad that K. Rool/Ridley/Isaac/(insert other popular character here) didn't win the ballot.

And the competitive players too.

Many have considered banning her and some actually did. Heck, some places still ban her post-nerf.

Dark Pit was pretty unanimously the most hated pre-DLC newcomer, and Corrin was probably the most controversial Smash newcomer in the series' history thus far.

Those are also true, but I feel like if Roy and Lucina don't make it in 5, people won't mind it as much because the controversy was that she was the sixth FE character, which made people feel like the franchise was overrepped (which is far from the truth when you start looking beyond characters, but that's just me).

As for who I expect today, I predict the IC's, Snake, Ridley, and Bomberman.

If Wolf is back, I don't expect to see him today.

He'd probably be an unlockable, and they're always revealed after launch (aside from a few special cases, like Lucina in Smash 4 and Snake/Sonic in Brawl).

Wolf is def back lol. If they're bringing back the IC's and Snake it's pretty safe to say Wolf is also returning.

I just think they don't want to reveal too many returning veterans which is why he'll be revealed later in the year, possibly to coincide with the new Star Fox racing game.

Top 5? Well in no particular order, I guess I'd go with these guys. A mix of both what I want and expect. Though I think Ice Climbers will be in too, but they barely miss the list.

If I'm being REALLY unrealistic, Mega Man X would also be a wanted character.

Well, to make time for the E3 conference, guess I'll give my hopes for the presentation. Note that this are personal hopes, not predictions, since honestly I don't think I can predict much. I really hope Nintendo gives us good surprises.

So, Smash related hopes since that's the big stuff:
1- New characters: I don't think any of my most wanted characters are getting in. Most of them either are third parties and no-hopers, like Viewtiful Joe, Phoenix Wright, Rayman and Crash, or are first parties that might have a chance to get in but I don't see them getting announced today, like Lyn or Elma. I kinda want some new franchises, because last game thanks to Shulk's inclusion I got to play Xenoblade and it became one of my favourite franchises, so I'm hoping that can happen with some new franchises. Either way, I'm just hoping the characters added aren't characters I dislike.

2-New solo gamemodes: Smash 4 was a great game, but the one player experience wasn't that great. Not many modes and it was kinda repetitive. I hope they give us some kind of new solo mode.

3-New stages with cool music: I mainly want Xenoblade stages because that music is sick, but any new stages with cool remixes are good in my book.

4-Changes on veterans: I want veterans to feel fresh. Don't know if this will be shown during the conference, but I'd like to have some veterans change, either the looks or the moveset too. My biggest concern is how FE is represented, I want them to have their new FE Heroes voices (So Marth and Roy can finally speak English), and I want them to give Ike the sword beam from PoR/RD (I still don't know why the hell Sakurai made up a move for him when the source material was perfect for a new move). I don't expect any of this to be shown today, apart from Breath of the Wild Link.

5-New mechanics: to differenciate it from Smash 4 (And kill my concern about it being a stupid port), I want some kind of new cool mechanics. Don't really know what they can do, but I hope it happens.


As for non Smash related stuff:
1-FIRE EMBLEM SWITCH. This might be a hope, but if it doesn't happen I'm going to be upset. It's about time we know something about it, and it's the perfect time, please show something!

2-Something Ace Attorney related, either localizing DGS (Lol like that's ever going to happen) or AA7. Or you know, the original trilogy for the Switch because it's going to be ported to every console ever

3-Due to certain leak brought up yesterday...

Viewtiful Joe 3. I didn't think I would be saying this since I thouht this franchise was dead, BUT I WANT IT SO BAD, PLEAAAASEEE

4-Odyssey DLC with Delfino Plaza. Or Mario Sunshine 2 if they want to lol

5-Some nice surprises. I just want it to be a good conference and I want them to present something that makes me go like "I didn't know I wanted this, BUT I WANT IT".


I don't expect most of this to come true, but it's what I'd love to see. Hope for the best and expect the worst as they say. This last hour is going to be a long one...
