And I think that's the problem with employers. Or I guess society as a whole. There's so many skilled workers out there in the workforce and yet so many people are left without being able to get a job because of the stupid "must have (insert numbers of years) experience in this job field" rule and myself and other are left **** outta luck.

So in that regard, I can def empahzize with Pumpkaboo. It's a really crappy feeling and at times feels like a hopeless venture (however true or untrue). Even worse is when people lose out to other candidates due to nepotism (i.e. "my buddy works here so I was able to get a position just through knowing him").
That's not nepotism, that's networking. And that's probably the single most important skill a jobseeker could learn. I'm where I am today because I went to great lengths to get to know the people doing the job I wanted to do.

Life is weird.

People can't get a job because they have no experience, but to get experience, they need a job.

The world is designed to destroy us, isn't it?

That's how I feel with the idea of teaching ASL right now. Even though I'm wanting to start somewhere, I've noticed that I need to have experience and I'm starting to get some experience pretty soon as long as things go the way they're supposed to

You need money to survive, but to get money you have to survive.

You need experience to get a job to get money to survive.

But you need a job to get experience to get a job to get money to survive.

But you need...OK I'll stop.

No.

Please go on. :p

its trash is what it is
Also this.

It definitely shows how darn unfair life can be.

Especially since those employers used to be in the same situation as you. They weren't born with 5 years of job experience lol

If you want to be perfectly logical about it, getting your first few jobs in the current job climate is a hopeless endeavour. There is no logical or objective reason to hold out hope when even retailers expect four years experience for something as menial as a sales assistant position.

However, it's one of those things where it's best to go against that logical conclusion and hope beyond hope that your efforts get you a job. Because you aren't going to get anywhere without working a few odd jobs along the way. You hope because you have no other option or alternative.
I'm fine with working odd jobs until I can find something related to my career field. Only problem is that even that I struggle with. Just about everyone isn't interested in hiring me.
That's not nepotism, that's networking. And that's probably the single most important skill a jobseeker could learn. I'm where I am today because I went to great lengths to get to know the people doing the job I wanted to do.
That's fine and all but when someone of lesser qualifications or sometimes even of equal value gets hired over someone else only based on that merit then I find that to be BS.

Yeah i'd love to get unpaid work experience but even interneships require you to have experience in a job field which I find to be absolutely idiotic.

It means the leaked E3 document is legit.

I see. I figured that was the case thanks.

Fighters is a good grab for switch and I wonder how much Aces will show.

I guess Paladins can be good too but it never interested me really. I know Alpharad would be hyped though.

If only we got the Smash Characters on this list.
:p

It be nice but at the same time I really want to be surprised by who actually shows up.

As for the Konami games, Duel Links would actually be pretty good as that game is pretty popular.

Castlevania makes sense for the collection, but Metal Gear would be kind of interesting.

Actually....

What if it was a Bomberman collection after the success of R?

It would make sense it it were a Bomberman one, I suppose. The Konami twitter did also say to keep an eye out on more 'explosive surprises' as E3 rolls in.

Your job as someone looking for a job is proving to someone hiring for a job that they should give you that job. And one of that last remaining ways of doing that is by getting someone who already has a job there to vouch for you.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I know.

Only reason I managed to get the job I have is a combination of networking (my sister works there) and abusing my rights as a mentally challenged person (Asperger's) to outright change my chances from "highly improbable" to "literally guaranteed"

In other words, I cheated the system, but with how unfair said system is, I don't even feel bad about it. Especially since I ended up being a pretty darn good employee.

You're "mentally challenged"?

Sorry if the way I said it didn't come across right but I would have never surmised that from you.

I mean, it's technically what Asperger's is, so objectively speaking, I actually am.

But it's so mild that I often get people surprised about it. Either way, it's apparently enough for me to get a job :p

I think I said it more than once in this thread lmao

I bought my way into the industry, lol. This school is fantastic and all, but I literally only applied because I knew it would get me the contacts I needed to wedge my foot in the door.

A lot of people who have Asperger's aren't noticeably challenged. Or their challenges aren't obvious in public, certainly not online through text.

I worked with many special needs kids and some of them were on the autism spectrum or had Asperger's, but a few in that school I worked at had cases so mild, I wouldn't have known had I not been in a school specialising in that field. I barely had to treat them any differently from a mainstream child (or adult, since some were 17 or 18 and already looking for jobs).

Oh I actually knew someone from Middle School who had Asperger's. They functioned pretty much normally albeit with some quirks here and there that were a bit odd.

Basically this.

Asperger's is a really, really sneaky one, especially when one of the most defining traits of it is also shared with some non-Asperger introverts; having difficulties with social interactions.

Yeah a lot of people growing up thought I was autistic because of certain very weird tendencies I had as a kid. Even as a teen my mom thought I was autistic because of my loner tendencies (which I guess I still have to this day to a lesser extent).

Except being a loner doesn't really mean autism...

Introverted people exist, after all.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention it, but I do actually have a friend who was diagnosed with Asperger's, though I'm not sure he knows that I know that. He has a more moderate case though, so even before his mother told me, I could tell something was different with him than the average person.

Yeah, sometimes it's easy to tell, sometimes not.

Like, it seems glaringly obvious to me in hindsight that I was one of those odd cases when I was younger. Doesn't help that I was 2 when I was diagnosed with it.

But nowadays, it pretty much weakened to being so damn mild that people can't even notice unless I say it.

Well that was the perception my mother had lol.

Although I guess I do exhibit a lot of tendencies someone with Asperger's would have. Like having a tough time making/keeping friends, not liking parties/social events, and being awkward at times in social situations.

Life is weird.

People can't get a job because they have no experience, but to get experience, they need a job.

The world is designed to destroy us, isn't it?
It's a product of us "raising" generations of kids into adulthood without actually introducing them to what adulthood is until they are legally considered an adult.

Can't have kids be kids for 17 years and the day they turn 18 be like "Okay time to grow up" when growing up is what should've been happening from the start. Education right now doesn't prepare most people for **** and the nuclear family isn't always equipped to carry for it.

Our youth is the most critical point of our growth and we don't begin in earnest until it's already over. Or maybe I'm just old and cranky and inclined to blame others... wait actually that's exactly what's going on lol.

I don't have any answers, all I can say is just... don't have kids unless you take it as an opportunity to challenge yourself into raising someone even greater than yourself, which in turn makes you yourself better.

Bluh.

Much as I want to hop in on these conversations I'm having a certain kind of morning:

So for the moment I'm going to sit here liking stuff quietly and hopefully not open my shift by conking out.

I actually agree with you there.

Never really learned to think for myself until I was 17. And it wasn't even my parents who did that, but rather philosophy classes in school.

They were pretty boring, not gonna lie, but I can't deny they really helped in the long run.

Being introverted doesn't make you a loner. =__=

I'm tired of all these shy, anti-social peeps sullying the good Introvert name.
In all fairness, have you ever met an extroverted loner?

Loners are usually introverts, but not all introverts are loners.

Yeah if I had to be categorized as something it would be more towards the anti-social side of things. Although I can still function normally for the most part in a social situation.

Search Man's theme is probably my favorite of the MM8 Robot Masters, so I'm happy that I found a remix of it.

And it's an extended one no less.
