Jfc I'm loving this article

This is what a high-quality ****post looks like

The article on the lack of LGBT characters in movie is a legit issue though.

General genocide is still political though, regardless of context.
Even if you want the extreme bad guy "I want to destroy everything because I'm evil", it's can be constructed as a message on how insane it is to wage wars without end.
That article forgot Chris Hemsworth playing Thor btw

No they had Chris Pine as Thor.
Probably a joke about Star Trek with Chris Hemsworth being Captain Kirk's (Chris Pine) father in the Abrams films.

Code Geass is fantastic. My 2nd favorite anime ever.

I heard a rumor that a third season or follow-up season will happen, and if it does happen I really hope it's good. Even still, the ending to season 2 was too good.

That's why I fixed my post. I agree with you.

It's nuclear genocide that I feel is beyond politics.

General genocide like, say, killing civilians with guns and blowing their buildings down with tanks, is a strategic, and, admittedly effective political strategy, if your political goal is conquest. It's morally wrong to most people and for the most part, we are past that as a society, but if your goal is to expand territory for your people, then genocide is a valid political move.

Nuclear genocide isn't though because it leaves nothing in it's wake.

It isn't a rumour, it's been confirmed.

It's things like this that make me want to avoid political and other controversial discussions as though they were the plague.

One way or another, they almost always quickly lead to some badly heated arguing (and that's putting it lightly).
Man, did you read my mind or somethin'?

Jk, but man, political debate just make me...I don't know, it just make me feel uncomfortable. I never really saw one where I didn't get those feelings. Probably because I am overthinking everything and because I don't know much about politics in general.

Y'know, I'm currently watching it with friends and I know how it ends so I must ask. How? It has good closure from what I heard but it's instead doing Stephen Morrat bull****

Rumor? Wasn't that outright confirmed for this year? Hold on...

I feel I should say My post about Code Geass. wasnt even about this hole of an argument thats happening?

I just wanted to talk about Code Geass
They announced the new season a while ago, I wonder when it's actually going to come out.

As for the actual series, it's been a while since I watched it, but I do certainly remember it being an experience.

Alright.
Yeah, I dunno why they're doing a third season. Probably just a cash grab. I WANT to be optimistic, but it only really needed two seasons. I'm not looking forward to season 3, unless it ends up being really good. Even still though, I don't find a third season necessary.

But how isn't that political? Nuclear genocide was almost a thing back in the Cold War because of politics.
In my opinion, it was because people were mad with power, not because launching nukes would have a political merit.

Again, I've already said it may be a matter of semantics. IMO launching nukes isn't a political move, it goes beyond politics. No one in their right mind would launch a nuke and say "it was good for our country and political goals". Bluffing a nuke is political though and is used as a strategy.

But since I've yet to see either a person of power or a civilian provide a satisfactory angle from which launching a nuke is considered a good thing for their political goals, I can't view it as a political issue.

If you feel differently, that's fine. Again, I may just be overly semantic about the issue.

Well, the answer to that question depends. What episode are you on, and are you okay with whole-series spoilers?
ive been tempted to rewatch it also. I love the dub
I believe the dub was the first time I ever heard Johnny Yong Bosch and Yuri Lowenthal's voices, so yeah, I love it too.

But just because it's not a good political move, doesn't make commenting on it(and the issue itself) any less political when you're directly criticizing countries who would be willing to use them for their own gain.
Found an image related to Infinity War, and it's pretty funny and also very true.

Man, my last final starts in an hour, when I'm done with that, I'm done for the Summer.
Just a little bit left to go...

I'm guessing episode 18 of the first season right? Because if that's the case, you've still got a LOT to get through. 32 episodes, if I'm correct.
so... (Note, episodes 19 - 25 spoilers)
So that means that Lelouch just finished using his Geass on Suzaku right?
Lelouch uses Geass on Suzaku to force him to let him go.
In episode 19, suzaku faces repercussions for this action.
In episode 20, there's a big battle, and Suzaku meets with Euphemia again
Episode 21 is the school festival episode
Episode 22 something good almost happens, but nah.
Episode 23 Zero uses the PR he gained from episode 22 to gain more following, also an important character dies, and the rebellion begins
Episode 24 The academy is raided, the battle transforms into a war, Viletta regains her memories, the student council is held captive, Nunnally is kidnapped.
In Episode 25 **** happens. Zero's identity is revealed to two characters that didn't know before. Other **** happens.
And that's where Season 1 ends.

Season 2 is something crazy, it's pretty hard to give a short recap of what happens because so much happens in Season 2.
I cna try later if you want to know though.

Honestly, if you keep on watching this, you'll want to experience at least some of Code Geass' stuff blind. It's a ride.

I'm well aware I'm being an *** about it but after a while seeing multiple hot takes from the same dude I lose my patience. Yes I know this doesn't excuse my petty behaviour
Yep... and more often than not... it never end well.
Perhaps again, this is your style, but if possible you really should fix that in my opinion...

As for the topic... I don't wanna get involved at all lol.

Also Steam Client Beta supports Switch Pro controllers... ad I have tried it out by connecting Switch Pro controller to my laptop via Bluetooth and then open my Steam big screen mode and it worked like a charm, it even have vibration.

Once I boot up Skullgirls, everything seems fine at first but then it just suddenly loses connection, I don't know why...

I tried to connect the Bluetooth signal, but then it says "Driver error"... I think...
Let's just say my laptop's Bluetooth screwed up...

From my perspective, anyway, something being political involves working toward some kind of endgame for either the world or your small portion of the world. But complete nuclear devastation wouldn't have an endgame. Or at least, not one that people would be around for. And considering not even the launcher would be left standing, it'd run counter to the universal goal of self-preservation. In other words, motivated purely by madness.

Essentially I view politics' endgame as partial alteration. Nuclear genocide's endgame would be total deletion.

Code Geass has 50 episodes, split into two 25 episode seasons.

While I agree about Star lord's mistake was very stupid, the thing that no one gets (someone had to point this me) is that when the doc says "It's the only way" to Tony it implies that Star lord making that mistake is part of the only possible future where they end defeating Thanos

Ah geez. I rewatched some of Code Geass, and I'm realizing that Lloyd has the same voice as Inigo.

It's a bit weird.

But when you're commenting on it and showing how it's a bad thing, it IS political.
An apocalypse caused by the US and URSS would have been political, even if no one survived, because those were the reasons behind it. And if you end up approaching these themes in a story, it's going to be political, you can't tell me a show saying "nuclear genocide is bad" isn't political. Hell, you've talked about the Iron Giant before and that whole movie is a commentary on the Cold War and its arms race.

I'd argue it wasn't the nukes themselves, but the threat of nukes that was political. Those are two inherently different things. A showcase of power vs a showcase of force. Fear is a powerful thing to use politically, but in this case it's through the use of irrational fear. Because no sane world leader would actually go through with it.

Threatening the use of nuclear weapons is political. Going through with it goes beyond that because there's no longer anything to gain.
