So how do y'all deal with your phobia when some element of it pops up in video games?

The Skulltulas in Ocarina of Time are a bad enough jumpscare for me (if I forget to expect them), but it gets straight-up traumatic when spiders get more realistic like in Skyward Sword or Skyrim. Heck, my heart skips a beat whenever I accidentally walk/fall near a big spider in Xenoblade 2, or when they just drop by unannounced by climbing down a wall out of the blue.

Generally, my phobias don't actually carry over into fictional media.

They only tend to act up in reality. I'm not really sure why that is.

Honestly, the opposite is true too. For example, I don't have thalassophobia IRL, but in Video Games, it actually sometimes kicks in. I really don't like diving in deep seas in Video Games, it's terrifying.

I also remember running in circles around the main lobby for long periods of time...when you've got time to burn on video games you tend to do these sort of silly things...

It should come to no surprise that I want a new Advance Wars and i'm hoping that the 4chan rumor about a new Advance Wars on the 3DS is true (Yes, i'm putting stock in that 4chan rumor. Desperate people do desperate things). If that were the case, it would be shown off in a 3DS Direct along with Wario Land VB Remake and Link's Awakening Remake.

That's the one thing that I really want. Aside from that i'm looking forward to a lot of things at E3 this year. Smash and Pokemon being the biggest ones. Mortal Kombat 11 is also going to be revealed around that time so that's going to be really hype.

To Decidueye's defense, it's not really different from people who just want K. Rool because "he's a villain", or "DK rep".
Hell, when I see support for Impa, I rarely ever see anyone mention reasons beyond "Zelda needs more reps" and "she's the most recurring Zelda character".

I want Impa, cause Impa was cool in Skyward Sword.

I can see why. Not to mention I'd prefer Incineroar if only so Smash can finally get a full grappler.

But I'd be fine with the Grass Archer.


People just don't take the time to think of good reasons.

Like, K. Rool can be backed up by the fact that Sakurai bothered to make a Mii Costume of him as DLC. Doesn't mean much, but it does mean he was on Sakurai's radar at some point.

As for Impa, she's honestly way too inconsistent to work and her BotW design, which is where Link and I asusme Zelda take their designs from... just won't work at all in Smash.

Impa could always have her SS design, just saying you don't have to keep all the Zelda characters consistent, so basically let Sheik keep her OoT design, and just have Zelda and Link have BoTW design.

But that Giant Water Sword and Fire Naginata, though!!


But in all seriousness I support characters who I genuinely think will be cool fighters in addition to "other" reasons...

Another thing about bandwagons is that a lot of people warm up to the idea of the character being in Smash...so the support picks up steam...look at indie stars Shovel Knight and Shantae for example...

Yeah, but why have that when you can have ancient ninja instead?

So Taki's now in Soul Calibur 6. Pretty cool, once we get Yoshimitsu, I'll have the 4 characters I use the most. (Kilik, Taki, Siegfried and Yoshimitsu). I'll try to get better with Zasalamel if possible.

Of course I'm hoping for Talim and Raph to come back too.

Kids were not respectful or nice at all. Talked constantly said rude things.

I told them off after the fact. I did mention that the observation didn't go well but made sure to say they shouldn't be doing that regardless.

They usually aren't this bad but woooooow they were bad today...





And I feel a bit better cause after my stern talking to, they wrote chalk apologies and compliments at recess. Apparently another teacher told them to do it, but I really appreciate the sentiment. It can still warm your heart.

Well, gamefreak updated gen 3. And Kanto is in gen 3. So they probably want to finish updating all the gen 3 games before moving to gen 4

The guy hinted at a 3DS Advance Wars in his first batch of posts in December and apparently (not sure if it's the same person) returned in March to outright confirm that Advance Wars (among other games) would be happening.

This is also the guy who predicted Wario Ware Gold and the Link's Awakening remake before other sources picked up on the rumor so he does have SOME credibility unlike most other 4chan rumors. Nothing's official but dammit I want that rumor to be real so bad!

Yeah I would think there is some likelihood of that happening with Marin being in Hyrule Warriors.

Grezzo more or less hinted they were working on a new Zelda game (or remake?) so the rumor adds up. I'd love to see how Link's Awakening looks in the year 2018.
