Salazzle, Zubat, and Garbodor will show up, and those three are the featured Pokemon of the Team Skull grunts. Seems like tomorrow's episode will reveal Gladion's Team Skull ties.

There are way too many Pokémon at this point that are reasonably more likely, including it's own pre-evolution.

It's better for stress testing because then there's loads of people accessing the servers at one time instead of it being spread throughout the day.

Either way, Overwatch Anniversary event is next week and lasting til June 16th. It'll be a nice thing that distracts me before I go on a trip for a job. Not to mention that on the bright side, there will be some non-event stuff coming during the Anniversary. Sombra's long awaited Sit + Laugh, as well as Orisa's Sit + Laugh. Tracer will be getting a new emote to catch up with the others and Reaper will be getting the best buff with the best new Emote and Spray ever.

Okay, something I need to say.

As you're aware, I've enforced the "please take issues to PM's rule" for a while now. What I didn't realize it that it's an unneeded rule here. Do note, it doesn't mean when I say to drop a conversation you can obviously continue it. That's different.

Now, please keep in mind there's a reason I always gave out Spam Warnings when somebody replied while I was enforcing that rule. It's because an infraction is unfair for that. It's not a directly written official rule, just one I enforce for the good of the moderation. However, it's clearly unnecessary. Thus, at best, if a major issue occurs, bringing it to PM can also help me figure out what to do sometimes better, but it's okay to ask on here too.

Do note that if you are handed a Warning or Infraction, please just reply via the PM or if you feel it's a bigger issue, take it to the Forum Support instead. Obviously an earlier mess happened. Apologies for the inconvenience.

BTW, the Grass Owl isn't a solid choice. It's a Ghost type, it's transparent. (I do think he's a legit contender, but there are more than than him, though)

Neither Froakie nor Greninja were even known about when Greninja was decided for Smash, and Greninja was picked out of all Kalos Pokémon solely for its design and moveset potential.

If Greninja hadn't been in Smash already and Alola wasn't a thing, Greninja would easily be the choice now either way due to the promotion it has had. It'd have fit all the "criteria" Sakurai gave for Pokémon selection that it ironically was one of the only exceptions for due to the circumstances of inclusion.

Decidueye would be decided upon when Sun & Moon have already been released, which is a major strike against it in comparison to Greninja. Now it has to contend with whichever Pokémon are appearing in movies or the anime as well as the ones that are bigger deals for the 7th Generation as a whole.

And guess what? That's where Rowlet comes in.

Rowlet is pretty much one of the two biggest "hot topic" breakout Pokémon from Sun & Moon, the other being Mimikyu.
Rowlet is also one that is getting heavy marketing. In comparison to not just the other two starters, but its entire evolutionary line as well. For example, it had its own line of merchandise that's sold particularly well (Rowlet's Garden) and is even getting its own line of figures based off of Ash's Rowlet in the anime.
And it's not like Rowlet is short on the potential for a unique fighting style; Decidueye is not the ONLY ONE in the line that can stand out from the rest of Smash's cast.

So using logic and what Sakurai has said in the past in regards to how Pokémon are chosen, Rowlet is much more likely than Decidueye.


And in general a leak that has Decidueye is automatically fake until we're actually given reason to believe it is more likely than the likes of Marshadow, Incineroar, Lycanroc (Midnight), Tapu Koko, Mimikyu, Bewear, or even Rowlet itself.

I've been better. My Wii U crapped out yesterday (Error 160-2215). Normally I wouldn't care because I have my Switch now, but my nephews play it often and have 20+ physical games and probably 20 more on the HD. And that error is apparently one that no one knows anything about. So I either have to send it in to be repaired or I have to buy a new or refurbished one. Not to mention stuff that was happening in here earlier .

First of all, if a Smash 4 Switch port is currently in development, who's to say when the additional characters were picked? As I recall, job listings for "Smash 6" started when DLC was still a thing, and you better believe internal discussions about the Wii U's successor were being had. It's very easy to imagine a Smash 4 port being planned for a good long while. Is it speculation? Yes. But so is assuming that the roster wouldn't have been picked until Sun and Moon was released.

So if this did happen, Decidueye could have been picked on the same basis as Greninja. A Grass-Ghost Archer Owl stands out quite a bit compared to other contenders. I know you and others tend to get riled up at anything that remotely resembles a "starter trio" strawman, but the point is Decidueye's typing does help it stand out, if only slightly.

Rowlet simply wouldn't be picked. It just doesn't have a fighting build for Smash, even less so than the likes of Jigglypuff. Not to mention it wouldn't be able to use either of its lines signature moves, including the line's Z-Move, which they'd definitely want to show off. Decidueye just fits Smash better. The merchandise argument is pretty poor considering Decidueye hasn't made its anime appearance yet, which easily explains away the merchandise "issue."

Not to mention it's hard to ignore that Decidueye is BY FAR the most well liked Alola starter, so even in the event that the roster WAS decided post-Sun and Moon, Decidueye would be a worthy pick. This is even more apparent when considering Primarina possibly doesn't have a workable body type (I disagree, but that's another story) and that Incineroar has a very vocal hate base (which neither Decidueye nor Primarina have).

In all, Decidueye isn't a guarantee, but IMO he's a top contender alongside Tapu Koko, Incineroar, and potentially Midnight Lycanroc, in descending order. For reasons I won't go too in depth into, I highly doubt the likes of Mimikyu (potentially unworkable) or Bewear (potentially too generic in fighting style/an honestly random pick). Not gonna lie, it honestly seems like you're inventing reasons as to why Decidueye isn't a worthy pick in an attempt to praise Incineroar.

Ran through ARMS direct. Gonna have fun with it, but hard-pressed to pick a main; guess I'll cycle through them and see which one clicks.

Didn't know the Inkling had that animation; clearly I've been missing opportunities. It's okay, though. My personal favorite way to say "up yours" was always a red shell during a gliding segment and it seems that's been retained.

Since I didn't get to comment on the direct earlier, I'll share some thoughts.

The direct was done pretty well and nothing I didn't really expect.

I like the modes we can choose and the basketball one is hilarious.

The new characters are great and I don't know who to play as now!

Being able to play with 20 people is also insane.

I'm happy the testfire for it exists and is pretty long which is good.

The lore for the game seems pretty neat and its awesome that they are giving us additional content for free, especially characters. That's pretty shocking.

Really looking forward to the game!

As for the Splatoon trailer its what I expected but it looks fun. If Callie is evil, that be a pretty interesting choice so I can't wait to learn more about the story.

Overall pretty solid direct that hit all the things it needed to push ARMS imo.
