Man what the ****, I bought Smackdown house show tickets a week ago and now Dean Ambrose is on RAW, Wyatt's on RAW , and Alexa Bliss is on RAW.

Geez, I hope SD bounces back tomorrow. Though it seems AJ stayed which is great.

Wait.

Life was related to the Alien movies?
Swamp, sometimes I wonder how you even misread this stuff.

No, it's similar to Aliens, but only because it was based on a book called gravity, which the movie gravity ripped off, just without the Alien.

I'm always leery of first person shooters and fighting games becoming movies more than any genre. Simply because those are often the franchises where yes there are stories and even in the cases of Halo some solid ones. The story is second to the over the top nature of the gameplay.
I think Halo's a different case though, lore is definitely important to it, to the point where if it has a bad story it can practically make or break the game for the fanbase. *coughHalo5*

It has a ton of books and lore for a reason. Sure the gameplay is still what ultimately made the franchise a juggernaut, but the story plays a huge part of that and unlike most FPS there's a ton to work with.

However, the biggest struggle would probably be what to do with John. The same could be said for most silent video game protagonists though, and the Master Chief has more to work with than most, in fact, he's shifted further and further from being one.

I can imagine a Metroid movie sort of being a cross between Alien and Avatar in a way...perhaps with a sprinkle of Star Wars...
I really like that idea! I've actually had the idea that, should thy actually go forward with a Metroid Movie, Tony Todd should voice a Chozo. Just a personal opinion.

Though speaking of casting, I've actually been debating who would make for a good-sounding Ridley, should a Metroid movie have him talk. Robert Englund? Ron Perlman? Willem Dafoe? Mark Hamill? They've all sorta passed through my mind when I was thinking of it.

Gilbert Gottfried.

On a more serious note, Cumberbatch could be a neat take on the character. You know, after Smaug.

Personally I'd prefer it if he didn't speak...It makes him seem more vicious if he comes across as less 'human', yet he still has that intelligence that makes him even more dangerous than just any random monster...he doesn't speak in any of the games and if he makes an appearance in a movie and starts speaking it just doesn't feel right to me...

With that said I did enjoy his characterization in the manga though...

Oooh! I really like that idea! On the subject of actors from Tolkien movies, Manu Bennett (Azog's actor, and the guy who played Deathstroke on Arrow) also crossed my mind.

Ah ha, ah ha ha, no.

There really is a sign on a wrecked ship that says "Bat Ship Crazy" in Yooka Laylee. If you don't believe me, I reccomend you check out Tom Fawkes' first video of his playthrough of the game.
I...think you missed her point.

If Ridley does ever talk in the movies, he needs to speak random alien gibberish. "Peecha chakka no wookie boonowa solo? HO HO HO HO HOO"

Someone on day shift got a cookie cake for their birthday, ate exactly one piece, and left the rest up for grabs by night shift.

Cumberbatch as Ridley.

I would sell your mother to see that.

I always thought most video games were better suited for TV/Netflix series rather than feature length films. There's still a prestige to the silver screen, but Netflix series and the like have been growing in popularity and renown. 2 and a half hours is still a small space to adapt games with really extensive lore/story/narrative/whatever.

Since we're still talking about the subject, The Game Historian did a really nice video on the production of The Super Mario Brothers Movie. It's quite a fascinating watch. Who knew that adapting the plumbers would be a ****show?

To be honest, I'm not in the mental state of mind to debate anything about what I said in relation to something my cousins did that she apparently remembers me talking about. It's almost 11 PM, I have an exam tomorrow morning, I'm not dealing with this right now.

Good night.

That's my thought process as well, especially for a very lore-heavy game like Warcraft or Resident Evil or something: There's simply not enough time to fit character development, important backstory for everything, and every minor detail a game can cram in in 2 and a half hours. A miniseries-type thing or a netflix show would lend itself well to quite a few things.

Thought this would be interesting to share.

Here's the "Jungle Challenge" theme by David Wise that Playtonic showed off during the Kickstarter.

And here's the version used in the final game.
All the extra bells and whistles really make it stand out.

This is already becoming one of my favorite pieces of music in a video game.

But it can still be done correctly if you tell the right story. I think something like Halo could be WAY better as a movie than it would be as a TV series. Well, it depends on what they're adapting(mainly the large scale main trilogy stuff for movies while the side tales for TV), but still, when it comes to video games it's not like TV has been kind to them either.

There's a lot of bad cartoons/TV shows(Take the mortal kombat cartoon and TV show... Yeah, the first movie wasn't great, but it was better than both of those.), it's just that there's been so many that unlike movies their have been good ones.

I don't know why people think TV is a go to thing to make something great, it still requires a ton effort and talent. It's just not nearly as risky as a movie.

Give me an R-rated Zelda movie that recreates the final battle from Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker where Link stabs Ganon(dorf) in the head. :p

Kalisto's gonna be on 205 so I ain't worried bout him.

But yeah I think SD will bounce back nicely, and even if they don't AJ and Shinsuke can probably carry a brand of tortilla chips if they needed to.

So decided to go on ahead and beat Ganon in my no Divine Beasts playthrough...

Honestly though the Master Sword makes the blights a complete joke...Thunderblight was the only one that actually hit me, and one was because of it's little thunder orbs randomly bouncing into me...

But Calamity Ganon is a heck of a lot more fun with full health, but annoying that you have to go through a quick boss rush to get to him first...

Still feel unfullfilled having not cleared any of the Divine Beasts so I think I will go ahead and do that...

Also Blood Moon glitch is back...so much for that fix...

Tbh I had some doubts on making it so big, that's why I added some yolo/filler guesses (like NieR) just to complete the grid.

I also tried to add many Splatoon/ARMS squares (considering the Direct is focused on them) but I just got 4, I could have added stuff like gameplay and controls, but those things are too obvious.

The "No Metroid" thing will become a running joke until Nintendo proves me wrong, PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG NINTENDO.

Well, just defeated my first Lynel today. This game gets a whole lot easier once you realize how little you can respect show enemies.

You show them respect, give them space and fear them, and they'll mop the floor with you. You get in their face, you show them who owns this ****, and they'll drop like the little ******* they are.

edit: Okay, why do the Yiga Blademasters hit like a truck? One slash, dead

Hey look, low hanging fruit.

Lemme pre-fill that for you:

Beware, fool, the eye of Yiga.

More usefully, walk in there with an armful of electric weapons and go guerilla on them.
I see you typing that reply. :dkmelee:

Swat, run like a *****, repeat. Try to take the archers out ASAP so their arrows don't hitstun you at the wrong moment, then just run circles around the blademasters until they fall.

This is the week that just keeps giving to me.

You're talking about the
time where you infiltrate their hideout, right? Already did that
Nah, I got killed by a lone Blademaster that appeared in the overworld. Guess I got a bit too cocky after defeating a Lynel (and a Hinox earlier) and thought I could take on anything. Turns out you still need to know how to disrespect them, otherwise you just get wrecked in one hit

The pokken, mario kart, last 3 in the second row, metroid, echos testfire, skyrim, and new spaltoon weapons and smash bros tease images are freaking perfect! I laughed so much.

So in the time that Persona 5 has pretty much become my second favourite game of 2017, we've got;
The first trailer to Thor: Ragnarok (Looks great - haven't seen any of the Thor movies myself, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ragnarok in the cinemas when it airs), the announcement of a Nintendo Direct pretty soon (Direct time in AEST - 8 AM on Thursday, time to set the Alarm clocks) and just now some details on Dragon Quest XI seem to trickling in for tomorrow (according to the trending twitter feed) and the awesome looking Overwatch event and related costumes. This seems like it's going to be an interesting start to the Easter Holidays!

Guess that's all for my contribution, now that I've got the grasp of things since I started P5. It's just so good; there's a reason why I'd place this as my second favourite game of 2017.
Though Sae, do you really have to berate me every time the player gets a new confidant?

And Nintendo Direct Predictions:
-ARMS content, featuring some character reveals and maybe a few more pieces of gameplay
-Splatoon 2 content, featuring more gameplay and new weapons, maybe a glimpse at the Campaign Mode.
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe discussion, even if it'd be redundant since most people know what's coming.
-Some more glimpses at FE: Echoes

Hopefuls:
-Pokkén Tournament Switch Edition with the Arcade DLC characters included into the roster.
-Maybe a bit more details on Super Mario Odyssey, even though it's definitely going to be the show-stealer for Nintendo@E3 2017

Those are just my basic predictions for the upcoming Direct.

Well there's porn of it, so yeah, probably.

(And yes, it's as bad as you think it is, probably worse. But still not as bad as the switch porn.)

Actually, the Switch's launch caused a decrease in porn traffic for some reason. So maybe there are people that are THAT horny for the switch.

I'm sure even E.T Atari has porn so that's not exactly a good thought process
