Well it probably won't make it big as a competitive game either way.

The shooter scene is a whole different beast to the fighting game scene.

It will probably have it's own independent community and Nintendo will likely hold tournaments the odd time, but I don't see this game getting into mainstream competitive tournaments (particularly those focused on the shooter genre) due to the demographic/identity hurdle it has to get over. Plus the control style won't suit the majority of competitive shooter players who prefer using either specialised controllers or a PC mouse + keyboard.

Also Switches are expensive and I'm not sure how willing Nintendo would be to provide them to venues for free at this point in the console's life (especially since it's dealing with shortages right now).

Halo has a decently sized competitive scene and that's controller only

Plus the control style won't suit the majority of competitive shooter players who prefer using either specialised controllers or a PC mouse + keyboard.

Also Halo kinda revolutionised the FPS genre so that helps it's reception in the competitive scene just a bit. It also is incredibly jank with a lot of things you can do which helps it's appeal.

Also I know that Halo 1 at least was on PC.

I think Fire Emblem's problem is it fell in the wayside of Nintendo's casual focus. When the 3DS was struggling and Awakening came out with all it's difficulty customization options it was the perfect storm to pick the series back up again.

I just noticed that KH 1.5+2.5 on PS4 doesn't have the "Only on PlayStation" logo on it.

That'd be cool to have on Switch if they do that.

I dunno if I'd say that. FE12 did add support conversations and had less dumb Gaiden requirements, but the rest is a matter of taste.

America are carrying it but there's films out over the next few weeks that'll challenge it on top of Beauty and the Beast still dominating.
Plus the money has to be split between Saban, Lionsgate and the Cinemas so they're gonna need quite a lot more than $100 million to actually get their money back from the film.

They're gonna have to rely on merchandise and hope that America keeps carrying it.

If they really wanted to make the next Pokémon revolutionary they'd release one version for Switch, the other for 3DS, and have them be able to communicate. Too bad that's never gonna ****ing happen.

They haven't done it with a main game but this did happen with a pokemon game once:

Red was gba and Blue DS. Which makes the boxarts have so much depth. Blue is on the ds which is the top screen and in its boxart they are looking down on red who are on the bottom screen. I really liked this choice.

Anyway this shows that it could happen, but I don't think it will.

The 3ds is getting too weak for what they want to do and the switch is the perfect transition for the series imo.

I'm getting it for Xbox One to go with Rare Replay's Banjo-Kazooie games.

Speaking of Rare Replay I'm really disappointed they didn't update Conker: Live & Reloaded but instead just gave us Bad Fur Day. Live & Reloaded did a lot of things right including gorgeous graphics. The only thing they had to do was uncensor some the useless language censorship that was in L&R touch up the textures a bit and that's it. The game as a remake is one of the best out there.

Well the other reason they might have went with the N64 version besides the censorship the remake had is because the multiplayer mode in the original seems to be better received than the remake, which removed the old multiplayer and replaced it with a completely different one that was pretty generic by comparison.

What annoyed me about Conker on Rare Replay is that the twin stick controls for the shooter moments are opposites from your typical shooter games.

1. Why am I not seeing topics about it plastered all over more cynical forums in that case? You'd think they'd be all over that like flies to honey. Could you share your source so I can know for sure?

2. Didn't the devs say they were still working on trying to bump the graphics up in the same thing that said they were prioritizing 60fps? A lot of things are still under research back there, I can see them at least putting in an effort to optimize it before it's done.

I saw. I picked up Destiny around mid-January, and I have gotten HOOKED. With all the DLC, and having two other friends to play the game with, Destiny has quickly become one of my favorite games. Super excited for Destiny 2, and judging by the screenshot, it looks like the story is going to be taking a much darker tone.
