I'd love to try and get everyone I can behind the character, but I'm heavily inconvenienced by the fact that I have little ground to stand on since there's no Metroid game coming up that we know of, on top of it being a niche character. Tough reality to swallow.

Valentine's Day is known as a commercial holidays nowadays from what I can tell and is just used to help increase sales on various products (for the majority). Even if there is an actual message behind the holiday (despite the fact that as you said, we should care about our friends and family every day), you can't deny that its true purpose in the modern age is for money.

The commercialism is another part of these holidays that I don't care for. As for an actual message behind the holiday? St. Valentine was martyred on the 14th of February by being beaten and beheaded. Little else is known of him. Nobody is quite sure how the date came to be associated with romance, given its origins, though it's presumed to be born out of Middle Ages fiction and legend.

Surprisingly, it seems like Shinovi Versus runs well under Wine if you use the staging version. So if this is similar, I might get EV on steam some day.....if it goes one sale for really cheap. Maybe.
