Story Time!
So today has been a rough day. But youtube REALLY wanted to rub it in. Before I got ready for work, I watched a few youtube videos with what little time in the day I had. I assumed I had shut down my laptop as I got up to get ready for work. About 10 minutes later my mom says "Your laptop is making some weird noises. You probably want to turn them off before you leave." As it turns out, it kept cycling through random videos on autoplay. SOMEHOW it managed to get to "15 minutes Lewd Anime sounds." The picture used for the vid is that girl from ME ME ME in a bikini

Please tell me you are watching a Japanese Sub and not the English Dub. Please, for all sake, tell me you are not watching the English Dub. Cause trust me, watching the English Dub is a terrible mistake.

Sadly I got those skins via purchasing lootboxes because I didn't have a lot of time to play... at least I got all the skins I want.

I'm still payfree. Ever since getting Overwatch, I have not payed for a single lootbox. And I was able to get all 4 previous Legendary skins of Halloween last year, all 5 Legend skins of Christmas, all 7 Legend skins of Lunar New Year, and all but Orisa's on Uprising.
On 1st Year Anniversary, I missed Bastion, D.Va, Lucio and Pharah, but got the other skins. And for Summer Games, since I didn't have Overwatch when that happened last year, I didn't have any of the previous Summer games skins. But this Summer games year, I got both of Zarya's, Tracer's Track&Field, Lucio's Selecao, Widow's C'ote Azur, Mercy's Winged Victory and Reaper's Biker skins.
So yeah, my hard work and determination has been working out for me.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a thing.

I mean, it's not for me at all, but it seems relatively in-depth for its genre.

I do have a serious criticism though - when your character stands still, a banner for in-app purchases with a fancy "72-HOUR SPECIAL DEAL" type thing seems to hover on-screen. Seems like it would be a right problem for parents. And in general, I consider it bad form to wave in-app purchases in the player's face like that. FE Heroes doesn't even do this despite it being more warranted there, so I don't get why they decided to do it here.

But anyway, Pocket Camp looks fun, but I'm not sure if I'll personally get it. City builders just aren't my style.

Then again, I thought the same for gacha games and, well, Heroes got me, so we'll have to see.

I think that's just a general practice for city-building games on mobile.

Anyway, Pocket Camp isn't really my thing (Animal Crossing in general isn't really, but I digress) but it definitely seems well made, so that's great.

It's just the usual.

Heroes doesn't wave a direct link to spend your money though. Just tells you the latest banner, which it should, especially since you get one free summon on every banner now. At no point does the game push you into spending money. If you try to summon with insufficient Orbs, only then does it ask you if you want to spend money, but under no other circumstance does it even suggest the idea, let alone wave it in your face with a fancy, easily clickable graphic, especially for kids.

KHUX does the same thing Pocket Camp is doing, and it is a problem there too. Two wrongs don't make a right. KHUX is far from a good example of how to handle gacha/microtransaction elements in mobile games, especially the global version. There's a reason I play FE Heroes instead now, despite caring more about KH as a franchise.

I've had a hankering for some Animal Crossing for a while, even though I didn't enjoy New Leaf and the only other game I played was GC. Game is much bigger than I expected and looks kind of fun. Being free of course means I will at least try it out. I can't say I won't drop it like Heroes when I inevitably realize the gameplay loop ins't exciting but i'm sure in the meantime I will have spent plenty of hours camping from my own home/in the middle of class. And all without spending a cent as usual

Oh, I perfectly understand. During the Uprising Event, my computer actually got short-circuited(or at least, we had a power-outage and something happened to my computer when it happened), so I had to use a laptop to do the Uprising Event for the entire 3 weeks. Because I can actually play for long intervals than I should be, it made me nuts whenever I had to get off to give the laptop a cooldown. Well, for more reasons than just Overwatch.

The Animal Crossing Direct wasn't too bad at all. In fact, I think Pocket Camp looks like a fine way to bring AC to mobile. I suspect some of the stuff we see here might also re-appear in the Switch Animal Crossing, but for now, I'm pretty interested. Hopefully it launches after my exams are over so I can have more time to play it.

Also, I'm definitely more hyped for USUM than I was before. The return of Team Rocket is enough to get me interested, but once again - not until I have the time or funds to spare. Maybe around Christmas time, I suppose.

I was pleasantly surprised with AC: Pocket Camp. At first I thought it was just a cutesy, small "build a camp" sort of thing, but then it continued on with gathering materials, friendships, customizable camper, shops and made it feel more fleshed out than I imagined. Will definitely try it out and will probably be hooked... at least for a while before I drop it (like Heroes), haha!

It obviously didn't but put competitive more of a backseat, with that said I believe Smash 4 is a fighting with competitive potential and also playing it for fun. As for me I play Smash in a competitive rule set with my brother but we just have fun and don't really care about a lot of techniques. Last but not least, characters are what made Smash Bros shine, with characters like Shulks Cloud etc.... makes this game worth it at least for me.

Yes, but that's not the point I'm making.

There's a difference between playing vs. your brother for fun, and playing against randos online or at a local tourney who exploit frustrating tactics or play overly defensively.

Smash 4 lacks core foundations in strong defensive options, thus, combined with the slower pace, a more defensive playstyle is encouraged over a more aggressive one, and this is what leads to a lot of the problems.

In Smash 4, competitive play was an afterthought rather than being at the forefront like it should have been. And it can be seen with the abundance of stupid easy flowchart combos, the Omega stages just being flat stages with nothing else, and stuff like counters getting buffed, Lucario + Rage mechanic, or magnetic ledges on recovery making KOs a lot more inconsistent. Smash 4 wasn't balanced to make competition fun, it balanced the game as a party game first, and then threw in some extra things for the competitive players. The end result is what we have.
