I'm gonna say it again, like I do everytime, Famitsu scores are not to be trusted
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famitsū_scores
Some examples:
Nintendogs 40/40
New Super Mario Bros Wii 40/40
TLoZ: Phantom Hourglass 39/40
FIFA 12 39/40

Yeah, this is true. I don't really have any trusted review sites, but if I were to trust one it would be an aggregate review site like Metacritic - and that'd be a few weeks after the game comes out.

Or you know, Nintendolife as they are fanboys and I'm a fanboy so if other fanboys like it I will too.

I generally go to Nintendolife as well.

The comments section there tend to be a mess though.

I'm the biggest only PH I know and even I know it's far from a perfect score
Also, NSMBW is good but definitely not a 10/10.
No comment on Nintendogs, it's obvious that it should be 1000/40
I mean, every preview of the game to my knowledge has said that the gameplay is solid. It's the roster that's the sticking point for most people.

If the reviewer doesn't care about that or is happy with the choices made, well...
I mean HW was great, I have no doubt FEW will be even better.
It's just that using Famistu scores as a way to create expectations or back up arguments is shooting yourself in the foot and say it was attempted murder

NSMBW was definitely a 10 for me.
I'd also rate PH high. Not perfect, which one of the reviewers obviously agreed with.

For me personally, nearly every review has the same footing when it comes to backing up an argument. I think using an aggregation of scores is better, which is why people tend to hold Famitsu scores highly. It's 4 people reviewing it, so getting a perfect score is even harder.

Still, they're all just opinions.

Bruh why not mention Sonic Lost World getting a perfect score and Other M getting like 38/40? Even then it's because of Famitsu's flawed system

NSMBW isn't even the best New SMB game

And PH is a 7 at best tbh, and most of those are because of Linebeck

I never played Lost Word so eh
And wikipedia only listed the 40/40 and 39/40 reviews so lol at Other M

It's also because they have some very clear Nintendo bias
Like, that's not even subtle

The issue is that they do 4 10 ratings and merge the score. One for gameplay, one for music, one for graphics and I believe one for story

So I just saw obe of the weirdest things on YouTube just now.

Guys mixing sodas with coffee and tasting it. I swear I am NOT going to advise trying that at home, nor will I myself.

A lot of it can be summed up as cultural differences. I saw a write up of it once, but it went in depth into how Japanese gamers value different things than western gamers.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a fantastic game though, and easily my favorite of the NSMB games. It deserves a 40/40 easily.

I ****ing hate F/GO because it makes me choose between Assassins and they're all good boys
Guess there's only one solution to this problem

What's this suddenly praise of NSMBW? Like, I'm not gonna pretend it's bad but saying it's a 10/10 is kinda ridiculous

It's not sudden at all. The people who dislike the NSMB series are a vocal minority, and the backlash against it didn't even start until the Wii U version.

NSMB Wii was a step up in basically every way from the original DS version, which was already highly praised. It brought back the Koopalings from obscurity, which many older fans appreciated. The Penguin Suit and Propeller Mushroom were both incredibly fun power ups. Having four player competitive-co-op was a first for the 2D sidescrollers in the series, and the final boss was very fun and had amazing music.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is one of the best selling Wii games for a reason, and is honestly one I'd consider a must-have for Wii owners.

It's one of the three main attacks you use in battle, the other two being Arts and Quick. Buster deals the most damage out of the three cards, but the trade-off is that it doesn't boost your NP meter (unless you use an Arts card first, but even then, the Buster card will only boost the NP meter slightly.

Not sure if you forgot about it or not, but I'd thought I'd fill in just in case.

Would you all watch pokemon if it was about Ash trying to find his dad like how lady layton is about finding her dad?
Yeah, I would. I've always wondered how Ash's dad would look like.

Even a smaller arc that focuses on Ash trying to learn more about his father and finding him would be cool to watch.

Update: I've made a terrible mistake but I regret nothing

It was a joke buddy, in reference to how Assassins all have 3 Quick Cards and one of the other two in their sets.
Critical hits for days boys

Now there's earthquakes on my home state. Could please take a chill pill, Earth?

To be honest that would make it boring or unnecesarily dramatic. The Pokémon anime is about the joy of adventure, and adding such story element derails that.

I turned 20 today.

Is it weird if I still don't feel very different from when I was 18? I haven't felt like I've changed much since then apart from being around longer as more time has passed.

In any case, it's still my birthday, so I've got stuff planned that I can look forward to later. For example I'm intending to finally watch Moana today. That's a Disney movie I've been wanting to see for a while now.

It's normal for people to feel like that. I myself don't feel any different from before I turned 21, and now I've been 22 for a few months.

That's because you aren't 21. Then you can go to clubs and junk

Oh man... I had recalled seeing a post about someone getting badly injured in a football game you witnessed and had asked for prayers. I'm sorry for your loss. :(
It really was awful to see. My friends and I really liked him. He was one of the nicest people I ever met.

Me and a couple buddies would go out and support the team after a few hours at the park playing football for the heck of it for extra hype before the team had a game, but especially since I hurt my leg and told them I might not join in anymore, it hurts me the most.

He really did mean a lot to you guys, huh? I can understand how much its impacting you right now, even though I've never been a football player myself. Any sort of loss is hard to accept, admittedly, but I imagine he wouldn't want you and your friends to stay sad. Instead, he would want you guys to push forward and continue to play football in his honor.

In any case, my condolences go out to his friends and family.
