My girlfriend dragged me into watching it and it actually wasn't half bad. Absolute bat **** crazy but entertaining enough.

I remember watching the first epispde a long time ago and loving it.
Never watched past that but one of my friends did and he said the show goes downhill from there into becoming a generic shonen anime

I used to think they would release a ported Smash 5 but it looks like that's not happening now if they haven't done it already.

For them to have waited this long means that a new Smash game is defiantly on the horizon.

The longer the announcement takes, the less likely a port becomes, and the more likely a brand new game becomes.

If Sonic's Twitter page hadn't tweeted it out to the world it wouldn't have gotten that far. Traditionally the voting comes from Europe exclusively but since the Twitter announced it to America it drew in NA.

NA couldn't care less about soccer meanwhile I'm pretty sure the UK in particular has a problem.

Like, I can see Madden picking up some steam if it was a US poll, but nowhere to that extent.

Miiverse ending means there's a chance for a new Dojo dedicated to Smash for Switch.

I mean, the PotD was a cool feature, but doesn't hold water next to Brawl's Dojo.

The same thing that makes the yearly COD and AC games popular, really. People love the formula , almost to a religious extent. There are literally people who only have PS3's to play FIFA, and will not upgrade as long as FIFA is cross-gen. FIFA 17 was the best selling game last year IIRC.

Playing through Ori and the Blind Forest and Darksiders II at the moment - I've had both for a while (got Darksiders through a Humble Bundle), but I've never sat down to play them, and I'm finding they're a lot of fun! Darksiders seems like an M-rated Zelda, while Ori seems like what would happen if classic Rare developers tried to make their own version of Metroid.

Not going to bother asking about similar games, since my backlog is already enormous and largely filled with RPGs, but it's encouraging me to look into games that might have otherwise flown under my radar.

They appeal to folks who likes sports, which is a lot. There's also stuff like custom teams and even character creators that just give it that extra oomph.

That's basically what I will do if Overwatch, or Nier:Automata, or Persona 5 is confirmed for Switch.
Also Nindie showcase is coming around, so even I don't have that much hopes up but I still think Skullgirls could be confirmed soon.

That depends on what the next person working on it wants to do, the Dojo was a pretty Sakurai thing and as far as I can tell Sakurai's almost definitely moved on to something new while Nintendo has started working on the early stages of Smash Switch without him.

Honestly I hope whoever picks up where Sakurai left off follows his lead for the most part, contrary to what the fandom constantly insists I see a lot more possibilities for the franchise to go downhill than up.

With playing the console version of Mania very recently, I think I favorite soundtrack. It was tough, but Flying Battery Act 2 is just beautifully composed in every way. It's also my favorite level in the game, even beating out Studiopolis Act 1, no less:

Considering I remember how many people were initially disappointed at Mania's reveal due to believing it was the only game for the 25th Anniversary, SEGA would have to be pretty stupid to get rid of Modern Sonic period.

That would be alienating a massive part of the fanbase, and lord knows how divided the fanbase is already.

I expect more Classic Sonic games, but not at the expense of Modern Sonic.

I don't think Famitsu would be the ones to drop the full Shadow Dragon trailer we'll inevitably get. I think they'll just do Azura as a smaller reveal, like with Cordelia.

Basically banking on an Azura reveal. Then in a week or two Nintendo does a big Tiki/Caeda/Merric/Minerva/Jagen Shadow Dragon trailer.

So gamexplain did an unboxing for the Metroid: Samus Returns special edition, which includes the reversible cover. And on the Metroid II side, the fake bar code has SR388 in the middle. They're really pulling all of the stops for fan service in this game.

Forces does seem to be the first game to either be actively following the universe bible or to at minimum establish the presence of alternate dimensions beyond the Chaos/Sol Yin-Yang. Either way, there is officially a second Classic Sonic timeline in place now, so the "Mania" series is capable of going forward without lore cross contamination. All things considered, Sonic 1 through Sonic 3&K likely still happened in the Modern timeline or else a number of things wouldn't make sense, but Mania onward is essentially the "branching point" where events no longer line up quite the same between the two timelines.

I'm not entirely sure I'd call the Forces end of the split a soft reboot so much as an acknowledgement if the Modern continuity is still maintained, in the same way that I wouldn't call Sonic Boom a reboot, but we'll see if the plot in Forces diverges from Modern as well.
