It was a huge step down from the Zora's Domain arc.
There's basically no build up to boarding the divine beast, you just waltz into the village, talk to the elder for a sec, glide over to Teba, shoot some targets, and that's it, you're already at the divine beast. Zora's Domain had a much more interesting intro because the rain forced you to go through enemies and play the game like a more traditional Zelda game because the rain prevented you from just climbing everything. Really made you feel the effects of Vah Ruta's corrupt state. There's no such effect on the Rito Village. Vah Medoh shoots down Rito who go too close but this doesn't effect the player since we can't fly.
Also just...I don't even know what they were going for with Revali. He's supposed to be like "the competitive rival" to Link (basically Falco), but the problem is that we don't get any inclination that Link finds him a rival or is exasperated by him, he retains a stone cold expression the entire time, which makes Revali look like he's gloating at thin air. And Revali lacks baggage. Mipha was great and I ended up really caring about her because of all of the baggage she had - her bond with Link, her family that she left behind, all of the Zora friends she had, the fact that the elderly of the village were gutted my Mipha's death to the point they hold Link responsible - Mipha just feels like an important character that more or less ties everything in Zora's Domain together. Revali on the other hand, does not get this. He has no real ties to the village (and I talked to everyone there, basically nobody brings him up), no real ties to Link, so combine that with his arrogant personality, I just don't care for his being dead as much.
Vah Medoh was also too easy. The control over it compared to Vah Ruta is very limited so that aspect of puzzle solving isn't even there. And overall it felt very empty, there isn't much too it.
Windblight Ganon has also been the most uninteresting boss so far. It took me a while because I was using a weaker bow and arrows to suss out if he had a trick to fighting him, but...there really isn't. Once I realised that, I took out my Royal Bow, some Bomb Arrows, and took him out in seconds. Waterblight Ganon wasn't too difficult but there was a bit more strategy involved there.
Teba seemed like a nice dude, but we didn't get enough of him either. I was expecting him to be huge grump, but he's actually a pretty chill dude and a family man at that, so I'd love to see more of him.
I really like the atmosphere of Rito Village though, as well as the designs of the Rito themselves. The Rito Village theme and Revali's theme are pretty nice too, especially the former in how it sounds like Dragon Roost Island to a degree.
