Duck Hunt is a legendary IP that sold well thanks to being bundled with the NES and people legit wanted him BEFORE the ESRB leak happened (whether it's to beat him or not).

You have nothing to worry about losing your main while mines is in danger because she's the most hated and represent that casual side of Nintendo that hardcore gamers dislike.

Hey, if the team can find a way to jam them all back in, what's to worry us?
No doubt they'll have excuses like having to make all new models and animations--ah, resources!
However, the designs are mostly done. But, honestly, if it came down to it (which I don't think it ever would or will) I'd rather have a re-designed Ganondorf over Lucina and Dark Pit, when it comes to money and personnel time costs.
That being said, some characters are time-sensitive. That is, they don't have enough prestige to spend the resources on when they are far out of their fame. It feels as if they would be a dilution upon the "all-stars" nature of Smash Bros. At some point, they would be there for tradition's sake, and that might not be enough. Further, clones have an expectation of being improved in the next installment. Mind, I might not think this way, but I think that they think this way--and if that can justify cutting costs, I can see them doing it. No great loss in some cases IMO.

Sort of but I feel like he's moreso because he's way too similar to Pit aside from two moves and it makes no difference

I can deal with Corrin but my 'salt' from him is mostly because we have two unnecessary FE characters in the game and Corrin was like the straw that broke the camel's back to most people. And to be fair, I don't hate Dark Pit as much as I did before and I'm fine with him here but he has to be either decloned or made into an alt for Pit

In terms of cutting characters, I go for more of the pessimist mindset: I think objectively characters are going to be cut. Whether due to legal fees, space, balancing, or time.
Marvel vs Capcom going from 2 to 3 was the same way.


Now that's not to say I'm against everyone coming back. I'm all for it. And I also find it equally ridiculous to say that so and so should be cut and you should deal with it.
Because truly there's nothing more obnoxious than rubbing around your insults as if it's some kind of grand burn to society.



So TL;DR: I would like everyone back, but that's probably not going to be the case.

And maybe you're right. Wii Fit Trainer isn't at the top of the cutting board for real. Sure Wii Fit U's flop may be worrisome, but the other Wii Fit titles sold well enough to warrant her stay in Smash. Thanks so much for the pep talk.

Personally I'm indifferent to Corrin. If we had to get another FE rep, I'd rather take him than another Marth Clone. I also feel that no matter who would be the next DLC character(s) they would've gotten the same reaction.

This is double for Bayonetta. It could've been anyone else and they would have still gotten the same amount of hate. It was a high standard everyone put on a pedestal which penetrated the skies. The downfall was inevitable.


When it comes to Dark Pit, I could go on for a while about him. But as harsh as it is to say he's basically a glorified alt. And this is coming from someone who plays DP more than regular Pit (and adores Dr. Mario).

Since everyone is doing it, here's my top 10 Smash 4 newcomers that I want to return for the next Smash.

1. - My second favorite Pokemon and my Smash 4 main
2. - Third party icon that I wanted to see in Smash since my childhood.
3. - While a questionable character in his home game, he's my secondary and is just ridiculously fun to use.
4. - While a former secondary who I use every now and then, he's another great addition who is fun to use.
5. - Another third party icon and a character I wanted to see in Smash since a long while.
6. - A third party icon who is also one of my secondaries, though I use Corrin more frequently than him these days.
7. - Nintendo icon who is a pretty entertaining character with his projectile game.
8. - Smash Ballot winner who has a very unique moveset (I admittedly still haven't mastered her though)
9. - The third most famous damsel-in-distress in Nintendo games (at least amongst the Smash roster)
10. - Yes, I'm among the minority that actually enjoyed their presence, though I hope the next Smash will make improvements to them so that they are more usable.

1: - Hands down the best surprising newcomer and the fantasy of Cloud in Smash Bros coming true is amazing
2: - Most wanted definitely during speculation
3: - Also most wanted as well.
4/5: / - Unique FE newcomer - but I feel like they tie in terms of uniqueness. Was a bit more receptive to Robin in comparison to Corrin initially probably because I felt like we weren't ready for a third newcomer, but Corrin's abilities definitely set them apart from other Fire Emblem characters already.
6: - Ballot Winner who very few people expected at all.
7: - Cool Pokémon and generally popular all around
8: - Certainly grew to love their inclusion.

So, I started another Black playthough...Gen 5 is the gen I played through the least, So of course I need to build that Gen 5 experience...
As you can see...I picked Oshawott (despite the fact I'm not a fan of Samurott's design) because he's the only one of the three I haven't actually used yet...also I usually have trouble deciding on a water types when playing through Gen 5, and I do want to try out Pokemon I haven't used that often...

I actually have some ideas who's going on my team based on those I haven't used yet...

I just fought Wattson, and holy crap, his Manectric and Magneton wrecked my entire team. Fortunetly, I got his Manectric down to low HP and my Linoone killed it. I miss having Marshtomp just sweep his team without any trouble.
I think this might guy might be worse than Whitney in terms of difficulty, ESPECIALLY with that Magneton. A Pokemon with a 120 base special attack should NOT be fought that early in the game.
