I think it's something that's going to be at a high level and you have to fight, but not take the full boost of totem power (like the Lake of Rage Gyarados... in concept).
Or, it may have the gimmick that it /can't/ lose its school form in the fight.

However, when you consider the overall structure of Smash, one move doesn’t even account for one ten-thousandth of the game. They completely ignore how many different collaborations are happening behind the scenes, how hard it was for us to even make this game, and are extremely displeased by the smallest details and the most minute adjustments. It’s a thankless job. It’s probably the type of criticism you wouldn’t get at school, or at a more typical job.

But the problem is that personally, I do get distressed by the fact that I can’t simply ignore those voices and criticisms. They may suffer from their own personal biases, but that’s still a person who feels that way. But, even if there’s a multitude of people saying something, that doesn’t mean they are necessarily correct. There were times when I adjusted something in reaction to a vocal outcry, and there were even more complaints afterwards.

Basically, there are a very large number of players. The players who are satisfied don’t speak up. Even if the dissenters seem loud, most of the time they comprise a very vocal, but still very minor, portion of the player base.

I feel sympathy for Sakurai here. He can't even tell what should or shouldn't be changed because everyone who's happy stays quiet and only the upset people say anything, and instead of being thanked for a job well done people just hate him for the little things he messes up.

This kind of communication issue is something I feel is a big problem in the video game industry, and one that's admittedly very difficult to fix since positive thoughts tend to be much more vague than negative thoughts.

But part of me still knows that no matter how hard, we need to find a way to express more thoughts that are both specific and positive. Not "I love this" or "this is why this sucks," but "this is why this is good, even if there are a couple of things you could change." If people could figure out how to do that, it might both make the jobs of people like Sakurai a little bit easier and make the games we get a little bit better.

You know what the size of that core seems just about perfect to match?

Mega Stones, the ones that actual pokemon hold.

What if Deoxys as an entity is wild, unsettled DNA because its born of a Mega Stone that had no associative Pokemon and became sentient, being so overcharged with the energy from the Azoth laser... life energy.

I know it's not specifically S/M related.
But just a bit more for the deepest lore.

Thinking about what I'd like to see in future Pokemon games.

My first thought was the ability to get your hairdo with two colors, one at the tips and the other at the roots. It's something I wanted as soon as custom hair in Pokemon was a thing, but Xenoblade Chronicles X actually did it, even if not in as polished of a way as I wanted.

Follower Pokemon were great, but they weren't perfect. The feature could use some polishing if readded. Like allowing you to put your Pokemon away voluntarily and making interaction with them feel like something other than a vending machine for items and reactions.

Seals are another example of something cool that could use polish. There weren't enough unique types of them to make ball capsule decoration feel fitting for every Pokemon, and I think they weren't allowed online due to the letter seals and obvious issues with that. So having only the letter capsules banned online and at least having a variant fitting for every type and a few extra variants would be nice.

If they ever find a way to bring back Accessories then due to the way they'd work in 3D I want to be able to have my Pokemon wear them in battle. Yes I'm saying I intend to send something out in a top hat, a lei, or some other suitable quirky attire while doing whatever.

Pokemon Amie should let you feed sheen-boosting items to your Pokemon in it. Why just see a Poffin on the status screen when hand feeding it would be so much better? Using healing items in Amie would be nice, too. You could see their joy at a Potion. . .or their sadness at a Bitter item.

I think being in full 3D is going to make the regions feel a lot smaller than before, so I would like them to make regions larger to compensate. Some way of having a Gen 5-6 metropolis sized city without feeling hopelessly confused would be nice too. Maybe if the large city of the region didn't rotate?

And I want Ribbons for every inane sidequest the game can throw at me. Obtainable for every Pokemon I want to repeat said sidequest for. And Ribbon Club Ribbon purchase tiers above the 999,999 mark since the money cap increased since Gen 4 and it's easier to grind for cash now. And the option to have your Pokemon wear one of their Ribbons like an Accessory.

If all of these things were added at once Pokemon would feel like a much bigger and more custom game. Maybe.

. . .Probably said all this before and will probably say it all again someday in the future. Oh well.
