Apparently, Russia got boos when they got a silver in Women's gymnastics.

Doping does that I guess.

You could find Poliwag in the route after Cherrygrove City even though you can choose Totodile.

That argument is dead on arrival.
You could also find Bellsprout on route 31 even though you can choose Chikorita. it's actually better than Chikorita imo

You can get a Seedot in Ruby before the first gym.

Sinnoh...
You've got Budew just north of Jubilife, granted it's part poison and not mono grass.

Unova Part 1, you have the forest just by the second gym with Cottonee and Petilil.

Unova Part 2, isn't there the marill line near where you got Riolus?

I think you missed my point

It's that Grass/ Flying is a unique typing that only a couple pokemon ever had

And you can get two straight away at the beginning of the game

Making Rowlet having that interesting type redundant

That really doesn't make Cyndaquill special.
Gen 4 literally interdouced only 1 non Legendary Fire type other than the Chimchar line, and that is Magmortar.
Blaziken is also better than every other Fire type that was interdouced in Gen 3.
Coming to think of it, there should really be more Fire type Pokemon

And yet, the same leak also had Rowlet possibly evolving into Grass/Electric.

I was about to say Growlithe, but then I remembered Sudowoodo blocks off the grass in the route where you can first catch it, meaning you can't get it until after Whitney.

You win this round Grandmaster Black Totodile is still best starter.

Looking back at that leak, Haluccid could be a reference to hallucinatory shrooms.

Yeah, a Pokemon that's a living drug reference.

I actually considered picking Cyndaquill for my HeartGold playthrough.
Then I looked at Typhlosion's movepool and stats.
I chose Totodile like I always do.

Feraligatr is like having a weaker Gyarados

Gyarados has 60 base special atk, not the best surfboard in my opinion. I mean Feraligatr's special atk stat isn't much better, but it still is better.

Also, Typhlosion doesn't learn many special non-fire moves, and only has an 84 base attack.
I'm honestly surprised it's that popular.

You don't have to make every pokemon a mixed attacker. A lot of pokemon are just pure special

And he did in Gold/ Silver. He got Thunder Punch

And he can get solar beam.

I'd argue Totodile was better in Gen 2 since Totodile had a better Sp. Atk stat (remember the Physical/Special split didn't exist yet) as well as easy Ice Punch access as soon as you get to Goldenrod, Gyarados had to rely on either the much more inaccurate Blizzard or the weaker Icy Wind (which you couldn't get until Pryce). Also, Gyarados couldn't learn Earthquake in Gen 2 (why?) whereas Feraligatr can, giving the latter the edge in terms of abusing its good Attack stat.

Well, I guess it depends if your playing gen 2 or gen 4 gold/silver

Speaking of which, Smogon's gen 2 preferred set for Gyarados is friggin' weird

Double Edge
Zap Cannon
Hydro Pump
Hidden Power Ground

WTF? Zap Cannon?

Thing is, Typhlosion doesn't have alot of special moves.

Ampharos can learn it as well

Why would anyone use that? It's a 2 turn move that leaves you vulnerable for the first charging turn. It's almost as bad as Hyper Beam imo.

Well, it could have been worse. At least there aren't Pokemon based on the marijuana or tobacco or... let's just stop here. The mods aren't keen on this sort of talk.

If that happens, it's on my team regardless of whoever I'm using.
It will be the best buddy ever. I could even name them "Timothy Leary". Nah, too long...

Dex leak confirmed fake.
...

I kind of wish it wasn't with those new pokemon

But, that must be our fire Marowak

Looks like, fire dark or something

It's a waste of a move slot.

I actually didn't think about it.
What else are you going to give Typhlosion, he doesn't exactly have a lot of coverage

That's interesting, if they're hyping up the evolution this much, it must have something special to it. Maybe it really is the location based forms that the July 4th leak talked about.

Yeah, Gyarados had a strange movepool in Gen 2. It still baffles me that it can learn Zap Cannon and not Earthquake.
