Wait dual release might be a main stay? **** that noise. It means characters get less focus and the stories get less focus
On one side, I'm not a fan since it means being more expensive altogether, especially since a third game tends to be next to inevitable with dual releases. On the other side, it's not necessarily bad if it means more FE games like Conquest, where the gameplay and difficulty is pretty good. And if IS takes a hint from people's views on Birthright and Conquest, there's always the possibility that the next games will try to add some of the other's flair to themselves.
Like if the story-focused one still got more variety in maps and goals like Conquest and if the gameplay-focused one's story became more straightforward like Birthright. Also, 2 paths doesn't necessarily mean a Birthright/Conquest scenario with choosing one side to go against another each time, if Sacred Stones is anything to note by.
But all in all, I'll see what happens, but at the same time, I do hope they keep in some features that I feel Fates did right, like making almost all classes gender-neutral, keeping and balancing Hidden weapons, My Castle, multiplayer and online, A+ ranks, etc. Despite all the flack Fates gets for fanservice and censorship, I really liked most of the other things Fates added.
