Talking about newcomers feels weird to me now, because I don't even know if the next game will have some (if it's a port).
I just hope it has some newcomers, but I'm not sure.

And personally, I would be very mad if it doesn't have, I wouldn't buy the game, probably.
Buying the same game 3 times would be ridiculous.

It would need to have my most wanted Bandana Dee or at least two characters I really want like Ridley, Bomberman or Magolor.

Returning veterans are just meh for me, and I mained Pichu in Melee.
When they revealed Lucas, my Brawl main, as DLC I was kinda excited, but now I never use him because he doesn't feel the same... I doubt I would buy the game for veterans.

I feel like it's just a little bit early to be talking about newcomers... I mean, I get that it's exciting to think about and all, (and honestly there's a lot of characters I'd like in Smash too,) but I don't think there'll be a game coming out for a while.

You didn't need the 2nd list. The 1st one was perfect.

Just finished the newest episode of Pokemon XY&Z.

I have no words. That was an incredible fight! Honestly, I'd say the Ash vs Sawyer league battle gives the Ash vs Paul league battle a good run for its money. I was filled with hype throughout the entire episode as I watched it.

To break down how this fight went (as well as my thoughts about it):

Part 2 of the battle starts off with Pikachu vs Aegislash. Aegislash has just cut down several trees, creating blockages throughout the battlefield. Pikachu uses Iron Tail against it, but Aegislash uses King's Shield for protection, causing Pikachu's attack to harshly fall. After a few attacks back and forth, Pikachu tries to use Thunderbolt, but Aegislash uses King's Shield again. As Aegislash is about to protect itself, the camera slows down just as it is about to enter its shield. You know what this means? Ash has figured out something!

Pikachu won against Aegislash, but the way it did so was extremely clever. Aegislash starts cutting up the logs to the point they are all flying in the air. Ash orders Pikachu to keep hoping back and forth on the logs. When Aegislash is about to attack Pikachu, Pikachu flips a log to have it act like a shield. This also allows Pikachu to secretly escape to the next log without taking any damage. Eventually, Sawyer orders Aegislash to use King's Shield again. What follows is a pretty neat move on Ash's part. Ash orders Pikachu to kick the log towards Aegislash. Pikachu kicks it toward Aegislash's shield, and the log gets stuck there to the point that Aegislash falls to use King's Shield because it can't fully enter the shield. Now that Aegislash is wide open for an attack, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to finish it off. You gotta give Ash some credit for a really clever strategy there!

The battlefield now changes settings, going from a forest to a small canyon. Ash then withdraws Pikachu and sends out Noivern. Sawyer summons Salamence, revealing that Shelgon has evolved since the last time we've seen it. It starts off with Noivern using Boomburst. Salamence flies around at fast speeds trying to dodge it, but it eventually gets hit. Ash then orders Noivern to use Dragon Claw, while Sawyer orders Salamence to use Dragon Rush both attacks collide. Salamence then uses Incinerate, causing Noivern to fly around in an attempt to avoid it. Salamence eventually lands a Dragon Tail on it, causing Noivern to take some damage in the process. After a few more attacks dealt back and forth, it reaches the point where Noivern uses Dragon Claw and Salamence uses Dragon Rush once again, causing both attacks to collide. This knocks out both Pokemon resulting in a tie.

The next phase is Goodra vs Slurpuff. This was Goodra's first battle in a really long while, so I was keeping my fingers crossed that it would at least take it out right away. Anyway, while Slurpuff had the type advantage, Goodra put up a really good fight. Much of the fight consisted of Ice Beam (from Goodra) and Flamethrower (from Slurpuff) collisions, Fairy Wind and Dazzling Gleams from Slurpuff, and Goodra's attempts at Bide and some Dragon attacks here and there. This phase ultimately concludes with Goodra finally pulling off a Bide as Sawyer orders Slurpuff to use another Fairy Wind attack. Both attacks collide in a big explosion, knocking out both Pokemon to result in another tie.

Sawyer is now on his last Pokemon. He summons Sceptile, his ace Pokemon, while Ash summons his Pikachu. This phase didn't last too long. Pikachu uses Quick Attack, but Sceptile counters it with Leaf Storm, sending Pikachu up into the air. Sawyer then orders Sceptile to use Frenzy Plant. Although Ash orders Pikachu to try avoiding it as it falls to the ground, the Frenzy Plant catches up to quickly, trapping Pikachu in the process. The Frenzy Plants then forces Pikachu into the ground in a brutal attack, knocking it out in the process. Ash is now on his final Pokemon.

And now we've reached the main highlight: Greninja vs Sceptile!

This phase starts out with Sceptile and Greninja engaging in a one-on-one sword-like duel, with Greninja using Cut while Sceptile uses Leaf Blade. After several attacks, both trainers figure it is time to reach the next level. Ash and Greninja synchro-evolve to become Ash-Greninja. The Pokemon XY&Z theme starts playing. Sceptile then talks out the bookmark in his notebook and Mega Evolves his Sceptile. NOW the battle begins!

Greninja starts it off using two Water Shurikens. Sceptile cancels both of them with Leaf Blade. Greninja then uses Double Team, and Sawyer orders Sceptile to use Frenzy Plant. The Frenzy Plant hits all the clones, but the true Greninja manages to avoid it and start running on the giant plant. Ash then orders Greninja to use Cut, and let's just say Greninja cuts up the plant Attack on Titan-style (it now has two blades when using Cut). Several more attacks follow, with a Leaf Storm knocking Greninja into the air. Sawyer then orders Sceptile to use Frenzy Plant again. Just as it seems to trap Greninja, Greninja escapes it by cutting up the plants like he's escaping a Titan's grasp. It proceeds to cut down the entire plant like Levi did to that one titan in Attack on Titan: No Regrets OVA.

Ash then orders Greninja to throw the Water Shuriken behind its back. Sawyer orders Sceptile to try to counter it by using Leaf Storm. At this point, Sawyer's face looks really desperate.

I mean, damn, just look at his eyes! He's starting to get really tense!

Unfortunately, the Leaf Storm is too weak to handle the incoming attack, as the Water Shuriken easily passes right through it. The super-charged Water Shuriken hits Sceptile, creating a huge explosion.

As it turns out, the attack knocks out Sceptile. Ash has defeated Sawyer and is moving on to the finals to fight Alain! The crowd erupts with joy, as we Ash's gang and the X/Y Rival trio are pretty happy. For all the Amorushippers here, there's even an Armourshipping hint during this scene.

Serena's eyes move to the point that it looks like she's about to cry tears of joy!

Ash and Sawyer then shake hands over a well fought battle, and the episode ends!

Overall, this was a fantastic episode! This was definitely the best animated battle in the entire series as of now, and I even say this was one of the best battles in the entire Pokemon anime, period. If you want to see some great animation for a fight and Ash-Greninja cutting up Frenzy Plants like he's Levi from Attack on Titan, this episode is just for you! Seriously, I highly recommend watching it when you have the spare time. You won't regret it!

For next week's episode, it's confirmed that Ash will encounter Lysandre for the first time. Ash and the gang will also have their first encounter with Mairin as well. You could say next week's episode will be the calm before the storm with the gang finally meeting up with some Mega Evolution Act-only-characters before Kalos League finals happen between Ash vs Alain.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Ash and the gang will encounter Steven some point soon.
My gut feeling is that whether or not Ash wins Kalos it won't matter because the writers will still make him the main protagonist of the Gen 7 region. Ash winning the Kalos league would technically give him the right to challenge the Elite 4 and the Champion though I doubt that's going to happen.

Also is Armourshipping canon now? Maybe canon isn't the right word but the main pairing that the writers will eventually go with ala Naruto and Hinata from Shippuden? I bring this up because for the longest time Pokeshipping was positioned to be the main paring (see Movie 2) but it looks like that's going to change now with Armourshipping taking the Canon paring slot.

I agree on everything you said. I do want Wolf back, but he wouldn't be enough to get me buy the game.

Being honest, if it's a port with couple of character additions, K. Rool and/or Dee would need to be in so I would buy it (I would also say Ridley, but he'll still have the "stage boss problem" if it's a port).

An NX port with both Andy and Isaac would be an auto buy for me and would entice me to buy an NX on day 1. Don't even care if nothing else is added in and everything remains the same from Smash Wii U.

OK, another thing that would make me buy the game is if they make it faster, with less gravity and with weaker shields and dodges.
But I really doubt that will happen.

So, I just watched the first episode of Re:Zero
I thought this was just another overrated so-called savior of the "trapped in another world" premise but just from the first episode I can tell where all its praise comes from
Good thing I decided to watch this before it ends

As expected, Ywach's defeat was nothing more than an ***pull. But how else would the conflict be magically solved for Bleach to end just in time?

That's why Rinkah is an unrealistic hope of mine.

She'd actually be cool because we don't have any club users in Smash. Plus she has other things to pull from like magic, or they could give her one or two fire moves (always found it weird she doesn't actually use them in Fates except for attack effects).
Hey @Thatkidwiththeafro you've got a fan that actually likes Rinkah in Smash. :awesome:

tbh I don't mind more FE characters, thought I admit half of em with the same moves is wrong
I just realized something. Grandmother once said "Quality over quantity". The issue people have with 6 FE characters also came with "Fire Marth" or "Actually a girl Marth". It's not just the fact it is 6 characters, but that half of them are the same. Had Lucina and Roy not been added then the complaints and the whining wouldn't have been this common

In a perfect world, we would cut Lucina just to tone down the Fire Emblem reps. But she's too beloved of a character to be cut unfortunately.

Too bad Ephraim's time has long past and Sacred Stones was the black sheep of Fire Emblem games.

No, Armourshipping isn't canon... at least not yet. It has some potential to be that way though considering what it has going for it. Aside from all the hints, their tends to be a common anime cliche where the main character marries the childhood friend who had a crush on him, and the main character doesn't fall for the childhood friend until they learn about their friend's feelings. Naruto x Hinata falls in that category, with Hinata having a crush on Naruto since the day they first met and Naruto finally falling for her in that one Naruto movie. I'm guessing, at the very least, Serena is going to confess her feelings around the end of the XY&Z anime. Will Ash reciprocate those feelings? I'm not too sure, but considering the Pokemon anime likes to pull off some common anime cliches, not to mention Armoushipping has some similarities to NaruHina, I guess that's one reason it could end up happening.

Serena does have some potential to travel with Ash to the next region though. One of the default customizations for Sun and Moon's female protagonist has hair color that is similar to Serena's, and both also have similar-length hair. Perhaps she could tag along with Ash because she's interested in the journey, and maybe she learns that Alola has its own version of the Pokemon Showcases for her to be interested in. If that happens, then that's probably the writers way of making the pairing more possible to the point it could well be the intended pairing in the end.

As for the first part, I too doubt Ash will fight the Elite Four and the Champion immediately after the League. After the finals is when Team Flare will begin their attack, thus beginning the Team Flare finale arc. I'm guessing there will be an Ash vs Alain rematch following the finals considering Alain works for Team Flare, and in the scenario that Alain wins the League, that rematch would be pretty interesting to watch. Perhaps that once the Team Flare crisis is over, Alain loses the champion title because the Kalos League Association learns he was working for Team Flare, and thus Ash becomes the champion instead. This could give Ash an incentive to travel for the next region: to actually earn the the champion title instead of having it given to him.

If 'muh reps' REALLY matters that much, you don't need to cut her. Just give everything else a bit more focus. And in a perfect world, Lucina would have a moveset based on her Great Lord appearance and Skills

If only that were true.

Nowadays, fans love the game more than ever because it didn't force everything to be casual like Awakening and Fates or have "muh waifus". Those two games got more than enough of a broken base thanks to pandering to the new fans that never been with the franchise from the beginning. The veterans and new fans will never get along no matter how hard IntelleSys tries to please both (Given that Conquest had enough flaws with its own story).

My ideal FE roster in Smash Bros would be the following...

- Marth (Face of the series and has appeared in the most FE games out of all the characters)
- Roy (Significantly decloned to the point where he's hardly a clone) (Face of the Elibe arc of FE as well as representing GBA FE)
- Ike (Face of the Tellius arc of FE, also representing console FE post-FE5)
- Robin (He should be the one representing the avatars in FE, not Corrin)
- Anna or Lyn (Anna because she's the mascot of the FE franchise or Lyn cuz i'm biased lel)

That feeling when Fire Emblem is very popular on both NintenZone and in Smash Bros. (It's as if a Fire is spreading, marking its Emblem wherever it goes). :4feroy:

Being honest here, I haven't really played Fire Emblem either (there's a lot of game series I've never played since I tend to be that guy who sticks with one game after a while of playing that one game). :p

Y'know, I have a question. Can you give ANY reason on your distaste for Corrin other than "I didn't want them, too many FE"? Because HOW was Sakurai convinced to put Corrin in? Because of the unique and fun moveset, AKA, the only important factor. Also, if ANYONE had to represent the avatars, I'd argue Max from FE12 considering he's the first

I feel if Corrin "represents" anything, it's that they represent Manaketes, and that if Robin "represents" anything, they represent magic users. I don't think either of them were chosen to represent the avatar function so much as the avatar function gave them enough importance in their games to be in the pool of considered characters.

If being an avatar were the only reason they were included, Chrom wouldn't have been considered first.

I think Capcom got a wake-up call

I could very well be wrong on this, but hasn't Capcom had all sorts of issues lately, especially with Mega Man related things? Seems like that them not selling as high as they should has happened at least once or twice before in the past based off the "wake-up call" you mentioned they're getting.

Well that's what happens when you market your game almost exclusively to the FGC.

That's not even getting into the full price tag and $55 DLC (and that's the least expensive way of getting it that doesn't involve grinding for Fight Money).

The sad part is, SFV isn't even a bad game. It plays great and it's really accessible too, much more than IV and III ever were. But all the mismanaging issues and Capcom's PR being generally awful didn't do it any favors.

Hell, I think /just/ putting on an Arcade Mode would've helped it out. Because the cinematic story, as okay as it was, you're likely not gonna touch it again.

With Mega Man, the issue was that the series was being neglected, and Legacy Collection helped that. The new show has left a sour taste for some fans, but we need to see if the show's actually good

My guess is mouth to mouth publicity. EVERYONE said the game was incredibly lacking at launch, and while more HAS appeared, the general public saw it and thought 'that game doesn't have enough to justify the 60 buck price tag'

So keep the 6 characters we have and tell Sakurai not to add more Fire Emblem characters?

Sully: Ok.
If anything , the only two I'll allow to be cut are Roy and Lucina.
Lucina at least has a back-up plan I guess by becoming a Marth Alt.....but both characters shouldn't take long to port over...

(I'd cut Roy & Dr.Mario anyway, that's just my opinion.)

Pikachu kicks it toward Aegislash's shield, and the log gets stuck there to the point that Aegislash fails to use King's Shield because it can't fully enter the shield.

If Ash vs Sawyer was this good, I can only imagine how awesome Ash vs Alain will be :p Three more weeks until we know if Ash will finally win the league

I think the biggest issue was that it felt incomplete and especially with all the glitches and online problems.

I will still put blame on Capcom but Sony screwed the pooch because they money hat that game which probably wasn't gonna be ready until 2017 at the earliest plus making it exclusive cut out a large playerbase with Xbox and possibly Nintendo all to have total control of the series and for that Capcom Cup/EVO money. They rushed Capcom to push for a 2016 release when it was missing a few characters, content and was glitchy going in.

Star Fox Zero is a mediocre game that's fundamentally flawed from a control and story aspect but mechanical is super polished. Even fighters as well with KI, Xrd, MKX, T7, Smash 4 and freaking Pokken was decent on release and technically sound

My guess is mouth to mouth publicity. EVERYONE said the game was incredibly lacking at launch, and while more HAS appeared, the general public saw it and thought 'that game doesn't have enough to justify the 60 buck price tag'
I think the combination of the full price, the micro-transactions and the lackluster launch version.

And thus SFV is another victim of one of the most arrogant periods of game development history of full priced games with little to no single player and lacking content along with EvolVe (which recently completely reworked itself and went full FTP), Star Wars Battlefront (sold well but brand rep of sub-series is kill) and Titanfall (the first thing revealed about the sequel was having a story)

Who knows? :3
In my perfect world of Fire Emblem in Smash Bros., I'd favor seeing Lucina and Corrin leaving (Lucina because I never saw any reason to add her beyond initially expanding upon the roster of female characters; Robin already took care of Awakening representation and has both male/female options, and Corrin because of how much outrage there was for him appearing this early when he should of been saved for Smash 5 instead. It makes me want him far less for the next game because of this...) I would of included Roy, but he's well known by this point and is less of a clone then he once was.

- Anna because she's the mascot of the FE franchise
I don't know much about FE, but I'm pretty sure that's not true.
FE has no mascot, and if it has one, it's probably Marth.

Just appearing in a lot of games doesn't make a character a mascot...
Specially if the character appears with minor roles and cameos most of the time.
She is like a FE Nurse Joy, IMO.
