People keep saying "this is cool and all but I'm disappointed it's the only new game". Mostly Nintendo players.

This demonstrates two things:

1) Misinformation spreads SO fast. And you guys wonder why I get uppity about misinformation on things I like.
2) People clamour for a Classic Sonic game. They get one, and are disappointed at the idea it's "all they get".

They mentioned afterward that it was a "collaboration" with Sonic Team.

Which likely is just Iizuka overseeing stuff.

Remember how Iizuka moved to the US to the SoA office, and how he made it the "Sonic hub"?

This is a sign of that.
