Calling a Chinese bootleg that's a simple RPG better than Smash, lol.

When did anyone say that?

There are more Nintendo games than Smash, you know.

Plus, it's subjective. One very well could make an argument for this being a more enjoyable game than Smash. For example, Smash 4 is very reliant on having local friends to play with, an interest in attending tournaments, and getting paired up with people who have good connections online. The single player content in Smash 4 is barebones and lacks any real sense of progression because everything you do is so scattered.

This mobile game has a very meaty single player mode and a very natural sense of progression. It also has multiplayer, and the ability to upload your team set up online for others to fight (basically ghost data).

I haven't I unlocked all of the modes yet and I don't fully understand everything just yet, but there is a lot of depth here. If you don't like fighting games that have so many pre-requisites and conditions for you to enjoy them, and games with barebones single player, one could EASILY make a case for enjoying this little RPG more than Smash 4.

I have to ask.

How is this little game that good?

I mean, aside from the inclusion of video game characters, it seems like a very bare bones RPG.

Is there anything cool to do aside from collecting video game characters? Is combat actually interesting? There a plot?

The combat is simple but still is interesting, and it's quite fast paced.

Controlling it is mostly as simple as selecting your targets. Though you do have to keep in mind the range of the moves. For example, Mario's ground pound only hits one target. Mega Man's super move can hit all targets in a straight line in front of him. Rosalina's regular attack can hit any two enemies regardless of their position.

And in general, the characters are different. I don't fully understand everyone just yet, but from what I can say, Mario is all-round as expected, a pretty standard attack unit. His fireballs can also cause a "Burn" status ailment, IIRC. Mega Man is a ranger with various shooting attacks so he can attack enemies in the back row even if there are people in the front. Midna + Wolf Link are a tank unit, and can cause debuffs (either to strength or defense, I can't tell though because Chinese). Their standard attack is pretty weak, but their special is extremely powerful. Rosalina is your healer, but oddly enough, her normal attack is one of the best, being fairly powerful and being able to hit two enemies at once regardless of position. Also oddly enough, Rosalina seems to have strong defense (makes sense for the character in canon, but I figured she'd have weak defense to balance out the other really good traits she has), so she could serve as a tank too.

I also have Old Snake. Not exactly sure what he is, but he is a tank character at least. I think his bullets can cause a bleed effect of some kind. And his special is just a big **** you laser. It's amazing.

There are also pair specific team moves, that have a little timing mini-game. So far, I know that Mario & Luigi, Wario & Waluigi, and Sonic & Amy have one.

The real depth comes in the customisation. There's just...so much to customise, and I really don't know what all of it does. I might do my best to explain it later from what I do know though. One thing I can say, is that there are like, 10 different in-game currencies or something. And the game makes getting them fairly easy (I already have over 100 million Coins). There's also some kind of crafting in it, and what I like about that is that if you are missing crafting materials for the item, the game brings up a list of levels with this material. If you have beaten any of the stages with that material already, you can jump straight to one of them. Makes intentional resource gathering somewhat do-able despite the language barrier.

Also there is a story of some kind, though it seems like it's fairly simple. The opening shows Peach getting kidnapped by Bowser, for one. From what I understand though, I think the characters you control aren't the "real" characters, nor are most of the occasions where you can run into a random enemy Mega Man or something. I think the idea is similar to actual Smash, in that the characters you control and fight most of the time, are capsule toys (big thing in Japan and China), and they are simply an army of sorts you use to fight. And through this, you are trying to help Mario rescue all of the real characters or something (that's what I gather from what I see at the end of each world). It's just a simple story I guess and is nothing worth fussing over since it's a bootleg anyway, they probably aren't even aware of what most of these characters are. I don't think all of the characters have a "real" version to rescue though. From checking out the world previews, I have only seen some of the characters listed as people to rescue in that world. For example, I haven't seen Rosalina or Captain Falcon as part of any of the maps, and haven't even encountered enemy capsule version of them. Maybe I just need to do more though.

Remeber that Waifux2 thing I posted here and how it basically lets you make images twice as clear?

Well, Melpontro has used it to make Sonic Adventure 2 Battle's textures much better looking (GameCube version in Dolphin).

It's a bit rough around the edges and needs some fine tuning but damn, the textures themselves look much better.

Waifux2 could be used for legit HD remasters.

Though afaik, Soldiers were playable in the Tellius games as Halberdiers(which is probably what the TLP class was based on but here it's their promotion) but I don't know what they promoted into

From a competitive/"you can have a normal match" standpoint, I'd like to see Arena Ferox ported to Wii U. That's a pretty fun stage IMO and there isn't anything too crazy going on. Prism Tower is good for that too.

I'd like to see Pac-Maze ported because it's silly.

And for something really out there, I'd love to get a hold of the Smash Run map and maybe do things with that. If I ever get to a point where I can turn the Master Fortress into a completely custom map or use some of the code from it to make custom "Adventure Mode"-esque levels, I'd love to try and do something with the Smash Run map.

I haven't even seen any ads in either the Smash RPG or Splatoon bootleg games either. I've seen microtransactions in the former, but I'm not gonna put any money into it and to be honest, the game is so generous with rewards I really shouldn't need to.

There'll probably be a ninth character for Season 3 as a result of this poll.
Most likely Shadow Orchid though there were options for Pre-Transformation Cinder, Kelvin Glacius, some variant of TJ Combo and Aganos as an Ent (think Treebeard in LOTR).
They'd be silly to not do a Season 4 as well given how many different players the game has had, they've got to keep the train rolling.
