Here's an interesting question.

What do you do when you like something (like a character, game, movie, whatever) that everyone else hates?
State your opinion. Listen to other people's opinions. Come to your own conclusions. Stop caring after that.

If only things were that simple. I can't think of anyone here on SWF who I haven't seen get a little heated or act like a smart aleck at one point or another.

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?
Complain about it on the internet. :troll:

Probably try and get as many people as possible to watch/play it to increase discussion/awareness, albeit without acting like a fanboy or zealot.

So, I also have a question
What's a type of character that you usually have a softspot for? Like, a characteristic that you can make you sympathize or relate with them
I always have a softspot for the goofy characters with a (seemingly) huge ego.

Ex::4dedede::4wario2:,Waluigi, :4bowser:, Lord Hater, Varrick, ect.

Villains and insane characters are also always enjoyable to watch.

Is it bad that I have mostly the same definition of characters I like a lot? :p
Combine it with them being big and powerful and that's most likely my favorite character from that series.

I didn't expect so many replies tbh :p
As for me, I can't help but sympathize with characters with an "Undying Loyalty", they can be the biggest asshole of all or the most despicable person in the world but I'll still be able to respect them just for their loyalty
I think like it mostly because it shows a human side to villains or deepens the relationship between two characters, one forged out of respect, friendship or whatever other reason they may have
The two best examples I can think of are Haku from Naruto and Hector from FE7

Smash modding is just problem after problem after problem.

Made custom a CSP/RSP for the Rosalina skin I'm making, but they come out all fuzzy.

I need to fix some things up on the picture anyway, though, so I'll have to do it over anyway.

I have a hard time fully believing this. Sure, Smash is a MEGA hit but more than the most iconic fighting game (of course that's not including arcade profits)?

If so, could that be a reason for :4ryu:'s inclusion (probably not)?

Why don't you make the trims (or the non-green parts of the dress) white? That would make it like the Irish Flag.
Well, grey is kind of close second to white. It counts, right? Plus, the crown and the emblem seem pretty white to me. Either way, it looks good so far.

It's the most iconic fighting game because it has original characters. Also, it's a traditional fighting game. Smash is very simplified and just brings the icons together.

It's fitting Ryu was added. Definitely the best choice and I'd like him to be a mainstay. Heck, I want all 3rd partyies to return, they deserve it in thier own rights. Even Snake. Yyyyy Konami. >.>

Life goes on I guess, everyone has their own opinion.

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?
Yeah, that's a bit more troublesome... especially since quite a few characters I like aren't too popular with the general fandom's which often dooms them into the creators removing or making them leave very abruptly from their respective series. It's especially bothersome when they never really give said character any sort of explanation on why they left or even just a simple goodbye, they just disappear from the series....

The best I can do is probably support the character a little along with anyone else who likes him or her (without coming off as obnoxious) and try and see if you may be able to raise their popularity a little.

It is pretty great to see a previously unpopular character you like slowly become more well liked over time though and occasionally, that might even drive said creators to bring them back into the series again. (or at least, allow for more cameo's for them.)

That's just my two cent's on that matter....

I suppose, though I was kinda trying keep to the original colour scheme, in making the trims a darker, less saturated tint of the main bit of the gown.

I made her crown white with green and orange jewels though to represent the flag.

In my experience, most people with a serious hatred for such things aren't people who worth even trying to talk to. So unless they go out and attack me for it, I won't care much either way, I do my best to ignore them.

I used to be far more easily bothered by those kinds of people, but I've learned they are rarely worth the effort of trying to reason with.

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?
I'll continue supporting it, I suppose.

It depends on the situation honestly. I could not care much either way and be happy with what I have, or I'd be in favor of it continuing it, or possibly even stopping where it is.

So, I also have a question
What's a type of character that you usually have a softspot for? Like, a characteristic that you can make you sympathize or relate with them
For some reason I seem to enjoy dork or nerdy characters despite not really being much of a "nerd" myself. I just like that they're so dedicated to their desire for knowledge.

It helps in some instances if the character can be a voice of reason and wants to help people, but at the same time are very much insecure about themselves. That is what I relate to the most, having some insecurities myself.

I tend to like very dark characters like Bayonetta, and also very light characters, like Palutena.
I'm just a bipolar person with pretty much everything. The inbetween is too mainstream.

In other news, I'm thinking of making my Corrin a female since I haven't chosen a female avatar in a RPG for a while....

Have they confirmed the release date for Dragon Quest 8 yet?

Well first and foremost I would explain how my opinion is better tan everyone else's opinion.
Then I would claim that no one should hate on said thing while I'm here or I'll have a panic attack.
And then I'll create all the drama I want in order to defend the fair maiden that is the piece of media.

Alternatively I could simply accept the fact that my opinion is simply one in a sea of opinions. But why bother with that? My character needs to be defended from haters!

I want to continue MM 3D but I don't feel like playing Zelda. I only finished OOT in like, October.

.... I seriously thought I'll be free from Zelda-tiredness.
But I'm looking forward to TP HD........which I'll start after a few games after MM like FE, DQ and ACreed.

I continue to like them.
Doesn't matter if everyone else hates it, you should enjoy the stuff you want to enjoy.

So, I also have a question

I always tend to enjoy up beat and positive characters, who never give up. (Sonic, Mario, Pit, Gon)
As someone who can be negative at times, I always sort of look up to characters like these.

I tend to also like mischievous, sarcastic, and jokey characters (like Palutena and pretty much the rest of Uprising's cast), I also do love a good badass character (Piccolo)

Maybe you should try a 2D LoZ game? Playing ALTTP and it's a much different experience compared to the 3D Zelda's. Gameplay is much more fluid though it lacks the depth and story a 3D Zelda would have.

I'm not surprised. An epic crossover featuring big name video game characters with accessible yet deep controls and mechanics and great amount of content and polish? Seems like a recipe for consistent success.

I mainly gravitate toward characters that are taciturn and intelligent, or campy and clever.

Almost complete opposites. And then there's just the silent characters,

It really depends on who the character is. I do like the simple-minded characters a lot though I really don't like the anti-hero, "i'm better than everyone else" type that people seem to love.

My work just called. They probably want me to come in.

I wasn't scheduled until the 7th. I was hoping I could enjoy more time off..

They picked a day where I didn't sleep last night. I got, like maybe 5 hours of sleep

I finished Minish Cap not long before OOT 3D.

I was at a quest to finish every Zelda game ever, but after MC I decided to just finish every 3D game.

And then Nintendo decides to reveal MM 3D and later TP HD all before Zelda U, so I'm kinda rushing them.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the Vegeta type of characters.
