I'm still waiting for N's Castle to be pprted over to the Wii U version
Gamefaqs and stupidity goes pretty well together for a good reason. I ran into a SJW that accused me of being sexist for enjoying a "degrading" game like Senran Kagura (even though I'm technically female like her). So naturally, I slain her into maximum triggering after she threw more strawmen about me being a disgusting woman for being alright with "unacceptable pandering" in a damn video game. Nothing like like dealing with your typical spineless hussies of the Internet peanut gallery.
I mean, liking that game doesn't make you sexist but it damn sure makes you a perv :troll:
Hm...

I'm curious.

http://www.strawpoll.me/10617387

It's a poll with multiple options.

Which Street Fighter V newcomers did you like?
Rashid is the bro
I played SFV some days ago in my friend's house and he was one of the few characters I could use properly
I also love his design and character
Laura is cool too, I guess

Here's an interesting question.

What do you do when you like something (like a character, game, movie, whatever) that everyone else hates?

Meh, I move on with my life. If something I like is unpopular, there is nothing I can do about it. Better than conforming for the sake of it or being a hipster.

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?

Tekken fans, which characters do you hope will be in Tekken 7?

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?
Then I'd be happy I'd at least got the chance to enjoy that game and the prescence of the character while I still could.

Also am I the only one amused by how often people complain about Nintendo lacking new IPs?

Do my best to clear up misconceptions when I have the time to do so. Since misconceptions are often what causes perfectly fine characters to become hated or slandered.

Same with games and movies or whatever.

But what if what you like never gets a sequel? Or a character never comes back?
I keep supporting that character/product and be vocal about the fact it should get a sequel, or in the case of the character, they should remain a presence in the series. Buying merchandise of the game/character helps too.

Well, one person's trash is another's treasure. I don't really care all that much about what others think. I know I like it. It doesn't matter if someone gives me odd looks for liking something. :p

I think I just got a message from the meme lord himself.

Sega has been known for its nice service, though. I don't imagine the same guy from Twitter runs the service section(along with a few others of course, but still). I think he only does social media. Who knows, though? Never knew about a 25th anniversary party, though... When's it coming on?

Well Aaron Webber (meme lord) was commenting in the comments for the event, helping people out, and he's apparently one of the main organisers, so it very well could be him. Seems like his typing style.

------

SEGA started this collaboration with the UK designer clothing range "Drop Dead", and there are some really trendy pieces of Sonic apparel. It's all pretty expensive, but the stuff looks really nice from the Twitter posts I've seen on it.

http://www.dropdead.co/collections/sonic-guys

They have a female selection too.

I might check the Drop Dead store in London when I go over, hopefully they still have some stuff by then.

MY opinion not theirs....

Well...I am still waiting for a Twilight Princess sequel...which I'm kinda surprised we haven't gotten since it's one of the best selling Zelda titles...THE best selling Zelda title if we don't count VC, remakes/remasters, ports (or future titles)....and I can only count on spin-offs in order to see Midna again...

and this is something that isn't actively hated either...well Twilight Princess does have a bit of a hatebase but it's not really a vocal one...

Sometimes I say how bad thier tastes are and move on.

Usually I don't care....

I add it to the list of things that make me sad.
btw I saw those Vans Nintendo sneakers. 75 euros. WAY too much for shoes
That's nothing. XD

I pay no mind, and just keep enjoying the character (Popplio and Shay are great examples, and even I feel that Ridley comes into this when we were in the speculation days), and when it is the opposite, that is something that everyone loves and I hate, I try to keep it to myself and not say anything around the people who likes that certain thing.

Oh, I get sad indeed, but still don't pay much mind to that, plenty of games and characters I like haven't returned or at least not in the way I hoped for (Ridley in Other M and Rayman in the Origin/Legends games for example), but just like before, I keep enjoying them and I make my own stuff regarding them, may it be relared to their canon or not.

So, I also have a question
What's a type of character that you usually have a softspot for? Like, a characteristic that you can make you sympathize or relate with them

It generally helps when their story or struggles are just something that ANYONE can relate to.

E.g. Rosalina is easy to relate to because the key themes of her back story are the loss of loved ones and the search for a sense of belonging (in the wake of the loss of loved ones). Those are things people ALWAYS endure at some point in their life, if they haven't already, so it's something anyone can connect with. That's part of why I like her so much, because I tend to like characters that have a down to earth element to them in spite of whatever crazy, fictional la-la land they live in.

Relatability doesn't have to come in terms of sad things or even struggles though. For example, I like Sonic a whole lot because he genuinely seems like a fun guy to be around, and I kind of have that sense of adventure like he does. Or Professor Layton seems like someone you could learn a lot from and he'd be really nice to hang around with.

I would say the one pattern I notice though, more than anything, is that I tend to have a soft spot for characters with an unrequited love, most of the time female characters. I don't know what it is, there is just something about when I see a female character who OBVIOUSLY has this really strong affection for the dorky, ignorant male protagonist or whatever, but she struggles to let it out or doesn't know how to deal with it, and even when she does, the protagonist is too block-headed to realise how she feels. I just sit there thinking "SHE DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIM BUT THE LEAST HE COULD DO IS ACKNOWLEDGE HER". Perfect example is Ikaros from Heaven's Lost Property and her love for Tomoki. It technically applies to most of the other female characters in the series but Ikaros is the main female character and she lives with him so he REALLY has no excuse to not pick up on it, especially when she does **** like this:

Like dude

Are you thick in the head? She wants you so bad. :V

Also I guess I really do have a thing for the strong female characters with a maternal element to them, like Rosalina and Ikaros.

Really though, in general, I'm not particular and don't need characters to fall under archetypes or anything. I like the characters I like based on their merits. If they're well written or well portrayed, I tend to like them.

Hmm...I guess there needs to be some admirable qualities within their character...Qualities that showcase more than just strength and courage, but the willingness to do what is necessary...
:4link::4samus:-often showcase these admirable traits, going in head first at times almost recklessly to take out whatever threat, not because of money, not for glory (for fun!) but often times because they can and only they can...even if it means disobeying direct orders for the good of the galaxy (clearly I'm not talking about Other M here)
:4cloud:/Midna-Sometimes these characters may not be as admirable at first but they still have pure intentions and they showcase a strong character progression as they learn about what's at stake...and as a result have a huge impact on what happens later on...
:4zelda:/Tifa-perhaps it's simply showcasing the willingness to make the tough decisions and sacrifices in order to help others succeed...heroism is more than just being the one that slays the dragon...

usually I'm not the biggest fan of villains because I tend to not like assholes and villains are usually portrayed as assholes but there are always exceptions...such as Ridley and Dark Samus who are just plain badass, as well as Ganondorf

it also helps if these characters have a design that appeals to me as well...it's hard to admire characters if they just look plain silly to me...though once again some characters can be silly and still appeal to me :4yoshi:

Softspot for insane characters. I don't relate to them though, I relate more to loner types.

Softspot for characters I just like a lot. lol.

Ones with very appealing design, great personality and good background, I guess. From the Smash4 roster, I have a soft spot for

Butt monkeys or the characters who are butt of jokes. And eccentric but well-meaning characters.

I feel attached to them for some reason.

I mostly like the side characters since the main characters are there to relate to and that almost always turns them into blank slates.

I also like unorthodox characters, characters that stand out for being different than the rest and characters that take new turns in existing tropes.

Nabbit, Daisy, Rosalina, Waluigi, Mabel and Stan Pines, Wander, Lord Hater, Bowser in RPGs, they're all different from the tropes they originated from and stand out from the cast.

I love me some underdogs. Even when they don't get that BS power up

Where they just use what they have and their wits.

Underdogs are the best characters to make but the easiest to screw up

Also, wat?

Not really surprising since there's a monopoly for basically everything else...

this reminded me of seeing the Nintendo Monopoly and was pleasantly surrprised to see the representatives for the Legend of Zelda being Link, Zelda and Midna...srry Ganon fans...
I can easily see Breath of the Wild surpassing OoT and TP as the best selling Zelda game...I would legitemately be surprised if it didn't exceed 10 million in sales...
it may very well surpass 2 million just on the Wii U since there's a lot of fans bought a Wii U just for Zelda...It's more affordable to just get it for the Wii U since it's more affordable than buying a whole new console...
