I hope Sonic has had some physical training, because it's gonna take more than just running to get him up the hill of unpopularity. I love Sonic, so please Sega, give him a rebirth! Fire and Ice look good though!

I personally wouldn't like memes in a main Sonic title, or at the very least keep them to a minimum and be Sonic related. I like memes on the internet, but when I see them in other media, I cringe.

I definitely want more compelling stories, one of the reasons I love games like SA1, SA2, and Unleashed is because they feel like full adventures. While I don't hate Pontac and Graff as much as some people do, I honestly wouldn't miss them if they stopped writing for the main series. They're good writers, but they don't work for Sonic.

That's not really a worry.

Rise of Lyric went through development hell and forcing it on the Wii U was part of the reason it turned out how it did.

Rise of Lyric is basically why third party developers don't force their games on Wii U. SEGA had to though because of the contract with Nintendo.

SEGA had a 3 game contract with Nintendo, the next 3 Sonic games would be exclusive to Nintendo consoles. The games were Lost World, Sochi Olympics, and the Sonic Boom games.

The reason Sonic became popular was because of these games, and Sonic was able to rival the likes of Mario. As with the modern games, well it's a bit more opinion based. Some people feel these games don't hold up to the original games, and criticize them because they want Sonic to be like in his glory days. Granted, some people hate on Sonic because they think it's the cool, but a lot of people criticize Sonic because they care. If you like Sonic's modern games than the classic ones, that's great, there's a lot of people in the fanbase who feel the same.

I guest I just not a big fan of the classic games. I know they that ever fanbase have the classic game fans but I really wish some of them wasn't so closed minded. Like hating the modern ones by just looking at the trailer or for it being a 3d game and like someone like Sonic rider because Sonic was on a hover board.

Edit: also I think it swing both ways I know some modern Sonic fans are like this too.
