This actually doesn't happen that much in video games surprisingly, aside from multiple choice endings.(Though in other forms of media it happens MUCH more often.)

Yep. And it's a shame too, because it would've been something very unique to not only pokemon, but video games in general.

I played some Jojo All-Star Battle and I have to say, this game is fun. Unbalaced as all hell, but fun.
It has no place in tournaments due to some mechanics but the way they translate the character's abilities into gameplay is perfect:
-Jotaro's and DIO's Time Stop is simply fun to use and even freeze the match's timer. And you can free yourself from it if you use the skill yourself
-On that note, DIO's movesets invokes those scenes before The World's power was revealed and it's just as eerie.
-Josuke's special heals the opponent before beating them down and he can fly by healing the ground
-Bites the Dust makes the timer go back 10 seconds and heals Kira
-Every single one of Joseph's moves, from the clacker balls to the Joestar's secret technique
-Two attacks that involve rapid-firing punches meeting each other results into a button mashing constest
-Breaking Silver Chariot'a armor makes it that you basically have 5 of it
-Kira's bombs, even being able to redirect one of the Air Bombs, he was probably my favorite character to play

Also, I borrowed SMTIV from him, anything I should know about SMT as this being my first game in the series?

We have sort of a language twitch here in France that gives the word canon (which is also usually the word used for cannon) a whole other meaning: when used to describe a girl, canon means hot. So now we can say Broly is canon ;D
