Johnny reviews the Sonic Advance trilogy.
And he brought a special guest along.
Saw that review already.
I do think that Advance 2 might be the best game in teh Advance trilogy, but I personally enjoyed Advance 3. I didn't find the level design terrible like Johnny claimed. Route 99 and Ocean Base can be pretty wonky sometimes, but the other 5 levels I find to be well-designed the entire way through (especially Toy Kingdom and Chaos Angel). The chao hunting can get tedious, but I personally like how you need to use the team mechanic in order to get the most out of the game. Plus, that helps the replay value.

Advance 3 was the only Advance I've played.

I remember liking it, but it's been quite awhile.

I do want try the other games, maybe via emulator.

It is a great game! Solid 8/10. It's not a mediocre game imo, so I disagree with Johnny there (but I completely agree with him on SA1 and SA2 thoughts).

Here are my own mini-reviews of the advance trilogy levels:
SA1

Neo Green Hill: Green hill, but neo :p. Well-designed, but nothing special.
Secret Base: REALLY well designed. It's fast paced and a decent challenge for being a 2nd level. Super enjoyable all around.
Casino Paradise: It's pretty ok. But, it can get pretty slow.
Ice Mountain: Water levels tend to be not much fun...and with cheap enemy placement in the water, this level gets tough. It can be fun in some parts though.
Angel Island: A fun, challenging ride. Not as good as Secret Base, but still up there.
Egg Rocket: I personally love the unique level design, but I do agree that the cheap enemies and spikes get painful.
Cosmic Angel:...totally agree with Johnny. This level sucks. Aside from the pretty background and music, this level is painful.

SA2

Leaf Forest: Feels like Leaf Storm from Rush before Leaf Storm. Fun and simple, like a first level should be.
Hot Crater: I LOVE this level <3. ITA with Johnny, this level is very nicely designed, from the platforming to the speed to the music.
Music Plant: I love the level theme! It's very unique, and can be pretty fun.
Ice Paradise:...I miss Ice Mountain. This level is painful. Cheap enemies everywhere.
Sky Canyon: If you are playing as Sonic, this level is painful. But, if you are playing as Tails, Knuckles, or Cream, this level isn't that bad.
Techno Base: Ok, so personally, I HATED Sky Canyon on my first run...on the other hand, I LOVE Techno Base to this day <3. It redeems the Sonic run-through Sky Canyon. Techno Base has a lot of challenging platforming, fun speed, really cool graphics, interesting level mechanics, and the music is the best in the trilogy.
Egg Utopia: A Death Egg clone, but still a fun challenge.

SA3

Route 99: I love how the first level isn't a Green Hill clone, but I can get where Johnny is coming from. This level has some weirdly placed enemies and gimmicks that makes things a little less polished.
Sunset Hill: Now, THIS is the Green Hill clone, right down to the Green Hill music remix. However, it's still really fun <3. It's a good step up in difficulty, but still overall nicely designed.
Ocean Base: Level sucks. It gets slow and the traps in the level get annoying.
Toy Kingdom: Like Music Plant, but possibly better!
Twinkle Snow: Take all of the good things from Ice Mountain, and put the speed into it. This level is long, but fun.
Cyber Track: I like the tricky platforming and level gimmicks, but I personally enjoy Techno Base more. Techno Base feels more original.
Chaos Angel: My favorite Advance level besides Techno Base. It's super challenging, has great level design...amazing music, gosh, it has everything. I also like the return to a corrupted Angel Island due to Eggman's plans and stuff.

I was searching for the first Female Broly stuff on imageboards and instead I found a lot of Broly x Touhou images.

I can't even.

SegaNintendoUbisoft SegaNintendoUbisoft Ok, so I'll also do mini-reviews of the Advance Trilogy games as a whole.

SA1: 7.5/10 score (good to great)
Pros-
  • Physics are overall smooth, and it makes it feel like a classic game. Not as smooth as the physics as Adventure 2 or Colors, but still up there.
  • Controls are intuitive and overall good.
  • Level design is overall good.
  • Music is well made (as usual!).
  • I love the unique character designs.
  • Time trial mode!
  • Chao garden
Cons-
  • Small screen can cause some cheap loses in lives.
  • Cheap enemy placement in general runs rampant in a few of the levels.
  • Special stages have an absolutely TERRIBLE depth perception and camera. It's also painful getting to said special stages. Thus...unlocking the true ending is tough.
  • Amy's run...yeah, she sucks.
SA2: 8/10 score (good to great)
Pros-
  • Physics are even better than what they are in 1.
  • Controls are even better, especially with the increased speed.
  • If SA1 is the classic games in Advance form, SA2 is Unleashed. SA2 is insanely fast and has a ton of fun fast paced action.
  • Music track is amazing
  • Techno Base Zone <3
  • On that note, the level design is even stronger than what it is in Advance 1.
  • I love how you can play as the different characters, and they each have unique movesets.
  • Time trial mode!
Cons-
  • Special stages are VERY painful to get to, which makes unlocking the true ending tough.
  • Special stages themselves are pretty forgettable.
  • Cream is OP. Cheese the Chao causes the boss fights to become way too easy and uninteresting. I want challenge in my boss fights, ya know? It's fine to have Cream be the "easy mode", but don't make her stupid easy to use.
  • Amy isn't as bad in this game, but with the pain of unlocking her via getting the 7 emeralds...it doesn't feel worth it.
SA3: 8/10 score (good to great)
Pros-
  • Team mechanic unlocks a ton of replay value and potential
  • You can play as all characters just by playing through the main story. No special stages needed.
  • Amy is actually fun to use!
  • Level design is pretty good (but not as good as in Advance 2).
  • Music is phenomenal
  • Chaos Angel Zone <3
  • Collecting the Chao isn't that bad, so as long as you are willing to explore the levels with using the unique team combos.
  • Physics still feel smooth as ice.
  • Controls feel natural.
  • You get to run super fast.
  • Time trial mode!
  • Extra Final Boss...vs. Germerl...you get to play as a team of...SUPER SONIC AND DR. FRICKIN. EGGMAN!!!! (yes, the Super Sonic and Dr. Eggman team up in the final story is awesome).
Cons-
  • Special stages still suck :/
  • Even though the chao hunting isn't that bad, it can still get hard sometimes.
  • Cheap enemy placement is a problem in some levels.
  • It doesn't feel as fast as Advance 2. I think Advance 2 did an amazing job of having a great balance between amazing speed filled fun and solid platforming. But with this game...it teeters back and forth between playstyles, without blending the two consistently.

This is nothing, Pyro mentioned "pom" and "pron" so when I looked them both up after "Bomberman R" I got some really weird results.

Also Broly looks like a monster from a 1950s B movie.

Oh wait. G4 stream hasn't ended yet and I stay up this late most nights anyways....welp XD

So I found I both a free voice recorder site, and a free video recorder site (I have a school chromebook so I can't download stuff for it or they'll notice). Really excited to start using them. Especially since I recorded 14 of my 50-minute long Euro class, bc it's super spicy.
Oh, and while I have two Mondays in a row off on February....the first one isn't for another 3 weeks ;_;

So I heard DQ Heroes I+II is coming out for the Switch as a launch title in Japan. I might just get imported here because it sounds like a game that I totally want to pick up.

Judging by what he said, the reason may be an inaccuracy in your sentence.

I think Metal Shop X Metal Shop X would be able to explain it.
Hold on, wut?:bowsermelee:
What do I have to explain here?

Also, gender bender Broly?! YO IS THAT REAL?!!:4larry:

Do my eyes deceive me, or did I just see people throwing hate on Professor Layton?

Not cool, not cool. You can't hate the true gentleman of all of video games.

Lamb's honestly one of those things I can't bring myself to eat. Sheep rank too highly on my "favorite animals" list.

Baa.:sadsheep:
I feel the same way about horses.

Coincidentally, I watched a bad movie yesterday... featuring Batman and Robin.

Ah Batman & Robin.

A "serious" comic book movie that takes campiness to an extreme, complete with codpieces too.

Oh, and lots of ice puns too.
A lot, indeed. Quite unfitting for a character that isn't usually portrayed in a comedic way.

Then again, they made Two-Face behave like the Joker in the previous film, so Freeze using puns shouldn't have been surprising.

In other words, some do take joy in the SMB movie despite its flaws. I can respect that. :p

Meanwhile, Mr. Enter is about to slam the Donkey Kong cartoon as his next Animated Atrocity. Here comes the angry Donkey Kong fanboys.

I actually really love that show. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and heard it was terrible but recall liking it as a kid, then rewatched a lot of episodes last year and realized I still love it to this day.

I think it's actually pretty good and outside of like being flawed by the CG of that time and some occasional weird faces, it's pretty spot on as a cartoon and for the most part actually looks decent enough. The best part of the show is the writing which I find overall pretty funny/entertaining. It has it's flaws, but idk, I love it.

I've finally got my phone back. I didn't back everything up though, so now I have to redownload five hours of songs, including every One Piece opening and ending.
