Just watched the newest episode of the Sun and Moon anime.

Yeah, it's official. Kiawe is my favorite character of Ash's group, and this episode does a great job giving him some awesome spotlight, and even backstory. If you're a Kiawe fan, This episode is definitely worth watching.

But there lots of great things that happened in this episode too:

Spoiler: Short Review of Highlights

First off, it's revealed that Kiawe's Charizard was a gift from his grandfather (and he gave it to Kiawe when the latter was only a child), and the episode confirms he got his Z-Ring from Olivia. Wait, Olivia made an appearance? Yep, she did, but it was only a cameo, and they only showed her foot right before Kiawe's battle with her.

Kiawe has a pretty cool family too. His parents are really tall, even taller than Kiawe to be exact. His younger sister was an enjoyable character too. She's pretty determined in helping her family, but Kiawe is over-protective for her that he does his best to prevent her from lifting heavy objects so that she won't hurt herself.

One of my favorite moments in the episode has to be the dinner scene. Typical Ash is about to feast on the food right away, but Kiawe's mother stops him and tells him it's time to pray. Kiawe's family then turns quiet and offers their prayers, with Ash looking confused yet awestruck at the same time. This scene does a pretty good job visualizing the Alola civillians' respect for nature, and Ash's reaction to it is fitting for someone who is learning about a unique culture to a region.

Did I mention Team Skull makes an appearance in this episode? Yep, I didn't expect to see them here, but they showed up. It's the same three grunts from episode 1. They attacked the Pelliper Ash was riding on, injuring its wing in the process. This leads to Ash and Kiawe fighting the Grunts again, but Ash completely obliterates them by using his new Electrium-Z (and this is the first time he uses it in battle).

Next week's episode will be the beach episode, and the preview looks interesting:

Well, they feel rather generic. Takumi is a jerk, Sakura is the shy girl, Hinoka is the tomboy.
Ryoma is a bit better though.

All the pokemon I traded for named 6IV had 6 IV's. I guess that was luck.

But since I know how to breed for perfection and have patience, the IV's weren't what I was looking for.

If you want my two cents, Takumi has lots of depth to him that shows he can be prickly at times just like his FE: Heroes mini bio says, but he's a good guy deep down who suffers from anxiety issues where he worries what others think of him. Sakura is shy, but she actually has a very strong will and is willing to take arms. Hinoka is a tomboy, but her struggles in becoming the Pegasus Warrior she is now put her in an interesting light that made me feel more sympathy for the character. Ryoma is who'd you expect for Mr. Samurai, but he is a great sage-like figure that can give great advice to those that need it: read his supports with Takumi and Mozu and you'll see what I mean.

Then again, I'm one of the few people out there who likes the Hoshido royal family much more than the Nohrian royal family. Camilla's Corrin-obsession and yandere attitude didn't leave a good impression on me. Leo and Elise are alright though, but I found them rather bland compared to their Hoshidan counterparts. Leo had some nice supports, but I couldn't sense as much depth to him compared to Takumi (Takumi felt more flawed, in addition to more relatable, while Leo felt more perfect; I'm more attached to flawed characters) not to mention I didn't like Leo's attitude to his son (he was a total jerk to Forrest in that Paralogue). Elise is rather too energetic for my tastes, to the point she felt like the more stereotypical loli compared to Sakura, and she had some face-palmingly foolish moments. Elise is a really likable character in Birthright though because they tone down her energetic attitude, and she actually makes smart decisions. I definitely liked Xander more than Ryoma though, and the reasons why is similar to why I prefer Takumi to Leo. Particularly, Xander felt more flawed compared to Ryoma, not to mention he was more relatable.

I once tried to chain Jangmo-o for a Razor Claw and it ended by accidently killing one of the Hakamo-o that were summoned.

I remember I was hyped for this game. They were talking about how they wanted to go back to the series roots and give us everything the fans loved about the original Dead Rising, and we got practically none of that.

On top of everything shown off in that video (like no timer, no wrestling moves, no escorting survivors, less items to use as weapons, dumbed down food usage, more dull lighting/colors, and an overall lack of polish) there are:

No psychopaths
No save locations
No multiple endings
No co-op in the main campaign
Reduced difficulty
Numerous game bugs
Stupid story
Forgettable characters
Awful ending
And they brought back Frank, but he doesn't act like Frank, and he has a different voice actor.

There is more I can complain about, but you get the idea.

This series has become so shallow. It feels like they just want to attract all the dude bros who just want to mindlessly kill hordes of zombies.
