Speaking of Badge Arcade, in the US at least, there's an E3 promotion. I think it's two free plays each day this week. Combined with four bonus plays from the catcher and today was a good one for me.

TBH as much as they SHOULD have more power, my priorities are a bit skewed.

I'm flipping out more at whether the guys in marketing are going to be able to concoct good enough advertisements and get them out to enough potential markets.

A wimpy console could still use catchy advertising as somewhat of a safety net. Wii U's advertising. . .wasn't.

That and I'm wondering if the NX can be the first system in forever from any company to actually have games at launch.

Also I took a break from Birthright for a bit over the past week or so, but I returned to it today and got all of the Skills from Rinkah's main classes. Now I made her a Dread Fighter at last.

Just need to fill up her sword proficiency and then get the last three skills from Dread Fighter itself and then I guess I can say she's "complete" then, aside from levels and stats. I think she's turned out to be a more than solid unit for Birthright. There are some things I could have done better, mainly the fact I missed out on some stat buffs earlier due to promoting her a bit too early (I didn't realise how promotion really worked at the time), but I'm really happy with this. Dread Fighter came with a +7 to Res (and +2 to Magic but I don't care about that) and only slightly decreased other things. Now she can be a tank to both physical and magic attacks and she doesn't need a Dual weapon to do it. And she can wield a weapon of each colour type on the triangle, and the fact she can use Replicate means the Replica can switch weapons for her even after she's moved so she's extra safe (though of course, sometimes it's fine to just send the Replica out to fight too).

Not really, the "big" villains have always been accessories rather playable.

Plus generic Boos have been playable in plenty of spinoffs more so than the big King himself.

Well, there was a generic Waddle Dee as an Amiibo instead of Bandana Dee for Kirby. I think it might have still given Kirby the bandana or something, but the Amiibo design itself still lacked that.

Arguably that was even weirder, because IIRC generic Boo is at least playable in a lot of stuff.

Only the storyline so far seems to justify the fact that we play as Link (other than, you know, him being a recurring protagonist since day one, but that's obvious). But other playable characters would be fanservice and that is what Hyrule Warriors is there for.

And NG+ is always an extra addition. Also, if HW means the mainline games can't do fanservice through extra additions, then explain Wolf Link.

Likewise Aonuma has said this game is about breaking traditional Zelda conventions. One of the biggest recurring tropes in Zelda is the princess needing to be rescued at some point in the story. One way to break this trope is by giving her a more prominent role in the story, similar to how SS did. Being a sort of rival to Link would be a good start. And considering the director of SS is leading this game alongside Aonuma, that idea isn't too farfetched.

This is it. And I like how he went on to explaining his assistant after she talked about Kukui's dreaminess.

I just believed in her.

Really though, it's mainly that she has a nice range of classes that she doesn't need to marry/befriend certain characters to get. I just went through all of those classes as I went through the game and collected all of the skills so I have a nice range of skills to swap in and out. Still have three more skills to get from Dread Fighter itself and those ones are pretty good themself, especially Aggressor. Also she has Lancebreaker currently equipped and clubs beat lances as is so yeah she dominates anyone with a lance, no questions asked.

She still does really well against everything else though more or less as long as she equips the right weapon. That's really the only thing you still have to be careful about, you might be able to take some enemies out but if an equally leveled character with weapon advantage comes out that's still gonna mess you up. Though this is something very character has to deal with, and at least if I have a Replica out, the Replica can switch the weapon to a more advantageous one after making a move with Rinkah, and vice versa.

I gave her some permanent stat boosts earlier on too, but in general, she's just one of those "seems bad at first but you can make her awesome if you know what you're doing" characters.

I kinda rather see a spin off starring Tetra with her and her crew discovering new Hyrule and perhaps dealing with the events that where told in the intro of Spirit Tracks.

Probably just me though since I'm huge fan of the Wind Waker cast....

A game starring Sheik sounds neat too though.

It's probably going to be something small like special. I don't see it being a long running anime if they plan to adapt the post-2003 chapters. But who knows, the anime could be easier to access online unlike the older episodes.
