Jfc dude, what's up with your hate on FE?
You act like IS making a FE game is the most offensive act that they could do to AW and its fans
Like, holy ****, one game doesn't interfere at all in the other and even then, AW will remain dead because it doesn't make money while FE now does, hence why it's everywhere now. Even before Awakening, FE already was IS's main series
Whoa, chill out man. I never even wanted to open that can of worms. I vented my frustration with the series eating away at the other and never meant to make this a debate.
When did I ever say I hated FE? I never said I did. Granted there's some aspects about the series I don't like but all in all it's a good series that I like and my Smash main originates from the series. You might be getting my hate for how over bloated FE representation in Smash Bros is mixed up with how I actually feel about the series as a whole. What I do really hate is how IS decided to solely focus on just that series and ignore it's other series.
But since you brought it up pretty much everything you said here is quite frankly total nonsense no offense. I'll address it one by one.
Even before Awakening, FE already was IS's main series
Not even close. The two were neck and neck before that and had the exact same amount of releases. And if you need proof of that, here's how the two series were pre-Awakening.
Famicom Wars-FE1
Game Boy Wars-FE2
Game Boy Wars Turbo-FE3
Super Famicom Wars-FE4
Game Boy Wars 2-FE5
Game Boy Wars 3-FE6
AW1-FE7
AW2-FE8
Battalion Wars-FE9
Battalion Wars 2-FE10
AWDS-FE11
AWDoR-FE12
Why the series has suddenly disappeared all of a sudden when it's always been as active as it's sister series is no coincidence. The series has never missed any Nintendo console/handheld since it started back in the NES era (other than the N64) and it was a complete no-show for the Wii U/3DS generation.
FE had a worse sales trajectory than AW. At least AW was able to rebound from poor sales from Dual Strike from Days of Ruin. FE kept on going downhill as time went on to the point where FE12 didn't even get a western release because of it's sales. Not only that but DoR sold just as much as FE11 and the former didn't even get released in Japan whereas the later sold in every region. Mind you these were two games that released in the same year.
And before you mention Awakening, AW never even had it's chance to make the same comeback FE did. I could argue that the series could have made an even bigger comeback than FE because at least the trajectory with AW was positive unlike FE's in which all consecutive releases just went down and down. The only reason why FE was revived over AW was because Japan tends to favor FE more than it does AW. A new AW game that markets better and sells well in Japan can outsell pretty much any FE game that gets released.
Not to mention the Switch emphasizing on local multiplayer which AW does a hell of a lot better than FE. Switch AW is pretty much a goldmine for IS and Nintendo and they just need to realize that.
Nintendo's is the same old but of the titles you specify for Sony you specify the remake (which has a different take on it gameplay wise granted), the remasters and entry number seven (actually nine if you count the Tag Tournament games) in a series.

I for one would prefer a brand new Smash Bros. game instead of the rumored port, for example, but then one'd have to wait 5+ years for it to launch. I'm well aware I don't even know what the port is about, or whether it has redeeming features or not. The only positive thing about the port is that it would be available for the system by the end of 2017, if true, anyway. I'd want to see more original titles get announced, like the new 3D Mario game that's in development, but then again there's next year for future reveals.
In the end, I'll end up waiting to see what happens.
Yeah, personally I can't get behind the idea of a Smash port with just the IC's, Wolf, and Inklings added in. Granted I don't even like the Inklings and IC's and Wolf aren't going to make me want to buy the game for a 3rd time. A Smash port needs to have annual or even semi-annual updates that adds characters to the game to get me interested in the game.
I also have to mentality of waiting for the January event and making my decision but all and all I can't say i'm too optimistic about the Switch other than me liking the concept and a few games.
I can already tell I'd rather play the remastered version over the original (not that I don't still enjoy the latter). I'm liking the improvements in both gameplay and presentation.
Can I just say the CG playing in the trailer for Marvel Infinite reminds me a lot of Smash 4's CG trailers. I see Ryu's face and it looks very Smash like to me. Plus Ms - urm, Captain Marvel looks cute.
Too bad there's years worth of Switch ports to wait past. At least Mario Kart will be worth it for giving us a slightly better roster and election of tracks. Need me more Petey Piranha in my life.
As for Smash, it really depends on how much new stuff we get really. And the Rabbids Mario RPG is passable as long as Waaaaa and Daisy have a main role as party members.
Well, Aonuma implied he was going to work on a new IP "where you can play as a thief" once BotW wrapped up.
Rumors are stating that there's a new IP in the works and that Retro is working on either a new IP or a series they hadn't before. Wave Race came up upon people checking in the legal system of one region regularly.
There's going to be a lot of "same old" because Nintendo has a lot of flagships they keep on every system, but Splatoon seems to have emboldened them slightly and there seems like there might be a greater emphasis on new franchises this time around. Not all of it will come to pass right away, but the converging game flows between console and handheld seem to be intended to supply regular, new, and more unlikely games all on the same pipeline.

We just got Planet Robobot this year, it would take at least a couple years for the next one. Unless you want another strange experimental spinoff like Mass Attack or Rainbow Curse.
Though yes, we need more of that crazy Reggae piranha plant. No seriously, he is reggae.

That's true though I doubt i'd be interested in most if Splatoon is any indication. I feel like i'm the only person in the world that doesn't like that game.
Good to see that devs like Aonuma and Sakurai are being given the opportunity to branch out and do their own thing though instead of being constrained to one series all the time. If nothing it should be interesting to see what they come up with.
Well I haven't played a wide variety of shooters other than the well known ones but Splatoon is pretty much at the bottom of my list of shooters that i've played. Just couldn't get in to it like Metroid and Pikmin.

Any time someone feels like the only one who doesn't like something, it's almost guaranteed to be untrue. I've seen other people dissatisfied with Splatoon and I almost wonder if the Switch version might experience a sales dip compared to the Wii U version from the number of people it didn't click with.
To encourage you slightly, I'm sure they won't just be sticking to any one particular genre or style with their experimentation. The leaked new IP gives me Splatoon vibes with the only hint to it's identity being that apparently it's unusual, but even so it's entirely possible a game with the same level of uniqueness could have an entirely different feel and fit that might suit you better.

I don't see how the number of releases proves a series' importance but if you want to go by that it just proves both had their chance to shine, and AW failed Also, I don't see AW on 3DS or Wii U
"Not counting japanese sales"
Ignoring how stupid this sentence is(because I doubt IS ignores sales inside their own country), FE was on the chopping block either way, as it was their main series, they gave it one last chance before it died, but that final bang became a fountain of money and here we are
AW didn't get one when it could and now one last chance would be pointless as any interest for the series has died and the only way it could be revived would be by getting a ride with FE and be advertised as "modern FE" but it won't have any anime waifus on it so that lowers its chances
Even then, the success of FE has nothing to do with AW's death and it actually is the one thing that could help
"I won't buy NSwitch if they announce a FE game before an AW one"-paraphrased
That sounds pretty hateful to me

AW on Switch is as much of a goldmine as Mirror's Edge 2, a game no one even remembers existing
Brb, gonna go complain that Persona 5 localisation news interfere in the EO localisation announcement
1. I'm fed up with one series getting all the attention over the other. So what? Why do you even care? It's what I think.
2. I literally just mentioned AW not having a release on the Wii U and 3DS which in case you haven't noticed was the reason I even wrote that in the first place. And yeah it does show how important the series was because both had the same amount of releases and they pretty much mirror each other not to mention IS mentions both series in the same breath as the series they're always thinking about.
3. How is it stupid? I literally mentioned how both AW1 and AW2 never had a Japanese release until later meaning any comparison would have to exclude Japanese sales in which both AW games did better. You mentioned AW selling poorly and I brought up how there's different instances of the series outselling FE with historical data. Also very nice of you to assert that there's no interest in the series when it's a Nintendo series that's among the most requested to be revived and the fact that you ignored my point of AW having a better sales trajectory than FE before going dark. That's like me looking at FE12's sales and saying that there's no point in reviving the series because of how **** it sold but at least with AW4 there's an instance of the game selling better than the other.
4. Super duper cop out right there. I already explained why it's a goldmine and you brought up something completely different.
Even though I came home late at night mad from work imma stay up just to see what the new Mahvel has in store.
Not working tomorrow anyway and thank god for that.
My new Battle Tree record is now at 42. With the new Battle Points, I bought a Lucarionite, a Destiny Knot and a couple energy drinks for my Pokémon.
I also just finished EV leveling Tapu Lele, so now I need to breed and evolve Abra into Alakazam., and my doubles "Psychic Spam" team will have its roots.
